Can you eat alone in Seongsu?

Yes. Seongsu is crowded, and walking into a busy restaurant by yourself can feel hard in a new country. But Koreans eat alone here every day, and they write about it. Here are the usual worries, and what the 15 places on this page say about them.

Do I have to order in Korean?
At 12 of 15 places you order on a tablet or a kiosk, so you do not have to speak. We did not check if the screen has English.
Is there a seat for one?
7 places have counter seats or seats made for one person.
Will I be the only one eating alone?
At 8 places the writers saw other people eating alone, or said nobody looked at them.
Can I order for one person?
4 places have a menu made for one person.

Every one of the 15 places below was recommended by a blogger who ate there alone. In the posts we read, nobody wrote a complaint about any of them.

How we counted

Naver and Daum are Korea’s big web portals. Koreans use them the way much of the world uses Google, and many people post restaurant reviews on blogs there. Those posts are in Korean, so most visitors never see them. We searched there for “Seongsu solo dining” in Korean, and used AI to read and analyze 200 of the posts. We count a post only if the writer really ate there. One blogger counts once for a place, even with many posts. For posts that say they were sponsored, we keep only the facts. We mark their praise and do not use it for the order. The list puts places with no complaints first, then places where more bloggers ate alone. There is no score.
