Why this exists

Almost everything worth knowing about a place in Korea is written in Korean, on Naver, by people who assume you already know how things work here. Machine translation gives you the words. It does not tell you that 66 of the 141 people who wrote about a restaurant mentioned queueing, or that the cutlet everyone recommends is not the Japanese dish you are picturing.

Mixed in with those posts is a large amount of paid writing that nobody labels. Counting it is not something the platforms that sell the advertising can do.

Who makes it

Gilpost is made by juststudio, a three-person studio in Korea. We read the Korean sources, do the counting, and write each language separately rather than translating one into the others.

What money cannot buy

The site earns nothing today, and it may carry advertising or partnerships later.

Either way, nothing here is for sale. No payment moves an entry up a list, changes a number, or gets a place included. If something is an advertisement, it will say so.

Corrections

Every page carries a dated list of what changed and why. If something is wrong — a price, a closing time, a place that has shut — tell us and the correction will appear there.
