Silbiok

실비옥 Silbi means 'actual cost', a word long used for cheap no-frills eateries, and -ok means 'house'; two posts say the name made them expect silbi kimchi, but the house serves beef seaweed-soup hot pot.

Data as of · Published ·

A beef seaweed-soup hot pot place in the basement of the The Live Sejong Tower, near exit 3 of Seongsu Station. The soup boils at your table; you add knife-cut noodles and hand-torn dough, then turn the last of the broth into egg porridge. The hot pot is 13,900 won per person, or 11,900 won at weekday lunch, and you order from a tablet at the table. We read 30 posts dated 20 August to 30 September 2026; 27 of them record a meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is a queue at lunch and dinner peaks. Nine posts report one; the three that actually waited all came around noon to 1 pm and waited 15 minutes behind four groups, 15 minutes behind two, and 10 minutes behind two. The other six saw people waiting or a line form while they ate. Ten posts walked straight in, at times like 6:30 and 8:30 pm on weekdays, 5:30 pm on a Friday, noon on a Sunday, or right at opening on a weekend. You join the queue on the CatchTable machine by the door.
  2. Twelve posts found the portions large and one found them small. The twelve say that with the noodles and the closing porridge you leave stuffed; the one exception added seven dumplings because the hot pot alone felt light.
  3. Six posts mention the weekday lunch discount: all three hot pots drop by 2,000 won, to 11,900 won for beef seaweed and 12,900 won for short rib or squid. Seven posts mention two free dumplings for writing a receipt review.
  4. Six posts saw the celebrity autographs on the walls themselves, aespa's sign and poster most prominent. Nearly every post repeats that Karina has eaten here, but that is hearsay and we did not count it.
  5. Three posts noticed many foreign diners; one saw the menu in English, Japanese and Chinese, and another found the order tablet set to Chinese.
  6. Three posts came as a group. One party of five was told each table seats four at most, so they split into a three and a two.
  7. Four posts note large chunks of beef. Two found them tender; one found them so tough she stopped after one piece.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is sogogi miyeok jeongol (소고기미역전골) — 20 of 26 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 26 posts

The one hour of free building parking (then 1,000 won per 10 minutes) is mostly copied from listing blocks. Of seven posts that mention parking, only one writes as if from experience that building parking made things easy.

Getting inside

In a basement14 of 26 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 2 (of 26 posts read)
Separate restrooms1 of 26 posts

Fourteen posts went down to the first basement floor, and several say they doubted they were in the right place. Six describe taking stairs down from the front of the building or the ground floor and finding it on the right; one hit the car park first and had to walk further in.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Six posts describe walking down stairs, but none mentions a lift or a step at the door; that means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one.

Two posts say the toilet is not inside: you take a key from beside the counter and use the building's basement toilets. One says they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Fifteen posts give opening hours, almost all copied from listings. Eleven say 11:00–22:40; one each says until 23:00, until 22:30, or from 11:30. All agree on a 15:00–17:00 break, and three say there is none at weekends. Dinner last order is 22:00 in seven posts and 21:50 in three; six give a 14:20 weekday lunch last order. No post names a closing day. One post watched guests turned away when the break began.
  • Prices agree across posts: 13,900 won per person for the beef hot pot, 11,900 won at weekday lunch. Of six posts that judged the price, five called it good value; one takeout post that spent about 34,000 won on soup, pork and dumplings found it a little pricey. One post records 11,900 won for a weekday visit without saying whether it was lunch.
  • Two posts copy the phone number 010-3954-4323. Nobody wrote about booking by phone; everyone joined the queue on CatchTable at the door.
  • No post discloses sponsorship or a review-team invitation; seven say they paid themselves and twenty say nothing. Four repeat the line about beef and anchovy stock 'simmered over five hours daily', which is the shop's own wording, so we did not treat it as evidence.
