MENYA POMO
멘야포모 성수점 Menya Pomo Seongsu Menya (麺屋) is Japanese for a noodle shop, and pomo is the Italian word for fruit, as in pomodoro (tomato) — fitting for a shop that serves only tomato-based ramen.
Data as of · Published ·
Menya Pomo Seongsu is a tomato-ramen shop in a half-basement off Yeonmujang-gil, a three-to-four-minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 4. There are five broths — original, beef-bone, tom yum, Indian curry and tantan — and you add a Korean-beef minced cutlet, sous-vide chicken or grated cheese on top. Posts list 10,000 won for the original, 12,500 won for the other broths, 14,500–16,500 won with the beef cutlet, and 19,500–22,000 won for a set with two pieces of karaage, cheese rice or salad, and a drink. The house routine is to finish the noodles, leave broth up to a dotted line in the bowl and stir in the cheese rice as a risotto. You order on a tablet or kiosk at your seat. We read 30 posts published between 11 September and 1 October 2026; one was about another restaurant, leaving 29 visits.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Many posts put it three to four minutes' walk from Seongsu Station exit 4, and 2 described walking there themselves. Several give the directions as down the alley by I'm Donut, opposite Hearts Bakery.
- There is dedicated solo seating. 20 posts described the layout: two- and four-person tables plus a partitioned single-seat bar, which one writer likened to a study room. One post counted four four-tops, two two-tops and five bar seats.
- Rice at the self-service bar is free and unlimited; 20 posts mentioned the bar with rice, pickled cabbage and water. Several noted you can use plain bar rice for the risotto instead of ordering cheese rice, and several mentioned hair ties left on every table.
- 13 posts said you order and pay up front on a tablet or kiosk at your seat. Spice runs from level 0 (child-friendly) to 5, with level 1 billed as 'Shin Ramyun hot'.
- Many found it milder than the level they chose: 5 posts said it was not spicy, including at levels 2, 3 and 4, against 1 that found it hot.
- 13 posts called the portions large; solo diners who had a set plus sides said they were bursting and that it was too much for one person.

Parking

4 posts said in their own words that there is no parking and pointed to the paid car park at Hyundai Terrace Tower 80 m away (one quoted 2,000 won per 30 minutes). The 1 post that came by car pre-booked a nearby office-tower car park through Kakao T.

Getting there

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for the address instead.

It is in a half-basement — 10 posts said so from their own visit. One writer nearly walked past thinking it was closed because it is hard to see from the street; another said large windows keep the basement from feeling closed in. Several tell you to look for the 'Ever tried tomato ramen?' sandwich board and the silver sign.
You walk down a short flight of stairs to the door; 5 posts described going down the stairs to get in.
No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller, and none mentions a lift or ramp — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none. Since several posts describe stairs down to the door, ask ahead about step-free access.
7 posts said the toilet is inside the shop, at the back past the solo bar seats; one remarked that it was clean and odour-free.
2 posts said the toilet is shared by men and women; none described separate toilets.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- No one reported waiting. 4 posts said they walked straight in — on a weekday, at 1 pm on a Sunday, and around 2 pm on a weekend. Others found it already busy right after weekend opening or after the lunch rush. Peak-lunch queues appear only as hearsay, so we do not know how long they run.
- Opinions on size differ: 1 post called it roomy, 2 said it is on the small side. Lighting is also described both as very bright and as dimmed.
- Company varied: 6 posts went with a partner or spouse, 5 alone, 3 with family and 2 with friends. The 2 families with children ordered non-spicy or level 1 and said the kids ate well.
- Opening hours are copied slightly differently from post to post. Most say 11:00 on weekdays and 11:30 at weekends, closing at 20:30, with a 15:30–17:00 weekday break and last order at 20:00; some say there is no weekend break. Others give 11:30 every day, a break starting at 15:00, or closing at 21:00. Nearly all of this is copied from the map listing, so check before going. No post mentions a regular closing day.
- Prices copied from the menu board differ slightly: the beef-cutlet tomato ramen is 14,500 won in 2 posts and 15,500 won in 1; the flavoured-broth cutlet set is 22,000 won in 3 posts and 20,000 won in 2, with dates mixed, so we cannot tell whether the price changed. Naver takeaway/pick-up orders are said to be 10% cheaper. 6 posts said it was good value; one felt 7,000 won for a small Asahi was a bit steep.
- 6 posts list the phone number 0507-1451-1237. Copied listings disagree on whether reservations are taken, and no one reported booking.
- 7 posts mention a review event: write a Naver receipt or Kakao Map review and get croquettes, grated cheese or a fried prawn. Thirty posts appeared within these three weeks, many repeating the same 'Seongsu ramen / solo dining / date' keywords in the same order. 3 disclose sponsorship, 1 says the writer paid, and 25 say nothing — so we leaned on what photos show (prices, seating, the order of eating) rather than verdicts on taste.
- 3 posts said the basic tomato ramen switched from a mostly-vegetable topping to minced Korean pork (about 100 g). This comes from the shop's own notice and all posts we read are from after the change, so we do not know when it happened. One post suggests the ham-and-vegetable ramen or extra vegetables if you want greens.
