Girin 1-inyong Hoejeon Hwogwo Seongsu-jeom

기린1인용회전훠궈 성수점 Girin is the Korean reading of qilin, the mythical Chinese beast; the name says what the place is — a one-person conveyor-belt hotpot (huoguo), Seongsu branch.

Data as of · Published ·

A one-person conveyor-belt hotpot buffet on the third floor of 46 Yeonmujang-gil, Seongdong-gu — the building with Shake Shack on floors one and two. Each seat has its own pot and induction burner; you pick a broth by scanning the QR code at your seat and a dragon-shaped carrier brings the pot along the rail. Ingredients come round on the belt, and guobaorou, tomato-egg stir-fry, mala xiangguo, draft beer, slushies and soft-serve are self-serve at the same price. Weekday lunch is ₩19,900, weekday dinner ₩23,900, with a 90-minute limit. We read 28 posts from 30 August to 2 October 2026; the 22 that actually ate here were all posted between 25 September and 2 October. Four were about other places or another branch and were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order by QR code at your seat. Fifteen posts scanned it to choose a broth, and a dragon on the rail delivers the pot (one post saw a tiger, another a lion). One post said a voice alert nags you if you don't lift your pot off promptly; another was told not to reach past someone else's pot for your own, as it can jam the machine.
  2. Draft beer is included. Twelve posts mention the self-serve beer tap; one pair of sisters wrote that they had four and six glasses. Soft drinks, slushies and bottled Chinese drinks are included too.
  3. Most seats are single stools along the belt, but it is not counter-only: nine posts noted separate four-person tables (booths) further in, one adding that each has four individual burners. Four posts said the stool seats lift open to stow bags and coats.
  4. There are waiting chairs outside the third-floor entrance with snacks set out — nine posts mentioned them. You join the queue on a CatchTable kiosk or app; three posts said you can also reserve through CatchTable.
  5. Eight posts called it clean and said why: seafood sits on ice, the rail's last cleaning date is posted (one visitor on the 25th saw that day's date), and staff wipe the sauce bar constantly. All are from the first weeks after opening.
  6. Eight posts gave a 90-minute limit; one gave both 90 minutes and two hours in the same post. Two posts said leftovers incur a ₩5,000 waste charge.
  7. It is a walk from Seongsu Station. Nine posts described the walk, five via Exit 4 (one each via Exit 1 and Exit 3, about six minutes). It sits opposite Hanjeongseon in the Shake Shack building, which posts said makes it easy to find.

Floor: it is on the third floor; seven posts climbed up to it. Two posts wrote 'second floor', but the address and everyone else say third. One post noted there are no signs on the way up.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. No post mentions a step at the door or a lift. One said you have to take the stairs; another walked up past Shake Shack's two floors. Nobody confirmed whether there is a lift.

The toilet is outside the restaurant. Two posts described it: a shared building toilet, separate by sex, with a door code and paper; and one on the half-landing at '2.5F', clean. Nobody mentioned an accessible toilet. One more post listed 'separate men's and women's toilets' in an info block.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post reports waiting. Four walked straight in (weekday lunch, a weekday at 3pm and so on); one who came at 4pm only guessed there would be a queue at mealtimes. One weekday-lunch post saw it nearly full by 1pm after being quiet at 12:30. All are from the opening weeks, late September to early October, so we don't know about evenings or weekends.
  • Heat is disputed: one post found the red broth properly hot and numbing; another ordered the hottest and said it tasted like plain shabu-shabu.
  • Belt speed splits opinion. Three posts found it slow — over 30 minutes per lap, a long wait for a missed item to return. Four found it unhurried and easy to pick from; one timed a lap at 20 minutes. Several advise grabbing plenty on the first pass.
  • The weekend and holiday price is disputed: nine posts say ₩23,900, four say ₩24,900, and it does not split by date. Weekday lunch at ₩19,900 and weekday dinner at ₩23,900 are consistent. A split broth costs ₩2,000 more; four posts say children 100–140 cm pay half and under 100 cm eat free.
  • Opening hours: thirteen posts give daily 10:00–22:00 with last order at 21:00 (some omit last order), mostly copied from the listing. One says 11:00–22:00 and one, visiting on Chuseok, says 11:00–22:30. One post says no closing day, and one found it open on Chuseok itself.
  • Six posts copied the phone number 0507-1407-9319, but nobody booked by phone; reservations and the waitlist go through CatchTable.
  • Only one post discloses sponsorship. But all 22 eat-in posts fall within eight days (25 September – 2 October), and six carry the identical hashtag set. Opening-week sponsored reviews may be among them, though none say so; read the counts above with that in mind.
