뚝딱 성수점 Pork belly roasted six hours asado-style over charcoal

Korean · Seongdong-gu, Seongsu-dong 1-ga

Updated · Published

Ttukttak Seongsu is a pork grill on the ground floor at 108 Wangsimni-ro, two or three minutes from exit 8 of Ttukseom station. The meat is cooked long and slow in a wood oven before it reaches you — the restaurant calls this the asado method and says six hours or more over apple wood and charcoal. So at the table you only warm it through, and the owner lays it on the grill himself and tells you how to eat it. The menu turns on three sets named for a folk tale's magic words — gold, silver and bronze — and almost everyone takes the silver at ₩65,000 (480g of belly, a king oyster mushroom, a vegetable skewer, with a brisket stew thrown in). People finish with pepperoni cheese fried rice at ₩9,000. Weekdays 11:30 to 3am, a break from 15:00 to 17:00, weekends opening at 14:00 with last orders at 01:30 — this place runs late. No parking. The thirty posts we read run from December 2025 to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You do not cook here — you warm. Seven posts say the meat arrives all but done, needing only a moment on the grill, and seven that the owner puts it on himself and explains it. A large wood oven stands at the front where you can watch (sixteen posts mention it); three noticed an ageing fridge too. On what the method changes, the writing agrees: five say it is not tough, eight that it is lean and free of grease. One notes that two of her party were in braces and could eat everything; another concluded that the long pre-cook was not for show. Not one of the thirty finds fault with the meat. But 'six hours', 'since prehistory', 'apple wood' and 'the first in Korea' are the restaurant's own phrases, appearing in twenty-four, nine, eighteen and nine posts in near-identical wording. Nobody timed the six hours. What we can count is that it arrived cooked and that it was not tough.
  2. The room is roomy and the window seats are the prize. Ten posts call it spacious and three note the space between tables — square tables under copper flues, in the usual grill-house arrangement, but set further apart than usual. One writer found a second room at the back and called it the best spot in the house. Seven single out the window seats: look at the light coming in, one says; the daylight made the table. So there is sun at some tables, and since the break starts at 15:00, that means lunchtime. On atmosphere, one writer says it is a typical grill house but not too loud — nobody calls it quiet. Open until three, the late hours belong to drinking.
  3. Two people come to the high eighty-thousands. Nobody calls it expensive and six call it good value. One writer records her actual bill: ₩65,000 for the set, ₩9,000 for the rice, ₩12,000 for two beers — about ₩86,000 for two, in March 2026. She also counts what she did not pay: the brisket stew is ₩8,000 à la carte and comes free. The prices did not move in ten months — ₩65,000 appears in nine posts from December 2025 to September 2026, and the other figures never disagree. Only the raw beef differs: ₩18,000 per 100g in December, ₩15,000 in August. But what we know is almost entirely the silver set: twenty-six of thirty ordered it, and the gold and bronze were each eaten by one person. The one who took the bronze preferred a moderate amount and found it complete; someone who took the silver advises a pair to take the bronze instead — for two, the ₩65,000 may be too much food.
  4. Nobody queued, and two say there was none — one got in early and counts herself lucky, another notes no wait on the day. The 'lucky' is earned: one writer warns that after half past six the room fills and advises booking ahead, and another watched it fill while she ate. You can book — eighteen posts say so and eleven name Naver. Four say they booked themselves, and all four benefited: the table was laid when they arrived, or they were given a good seat. One mentions checking the queue through CatchTable. If you want a window seat, booking looks like the answer.

Parking

8 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot8 of 29 posts

There is no parking. Eight posts say so and none disagrees. Two offer alternatives — a public car park across the road, and an hour for ₩3,000 — but not one of the thirty reports actually parking. All eight are copied information lines, so we can say it has no car park of its own; which nearby one works, nobody has checked. Fourteen posts put it two or three minutes from exit 8, and one writer says a single minute. It serves drink until three in the morning — leaving the car is the better answer twice over. One post places it directly opposite the Seongsu galbi lane.

Getting inside

Toilet inside3 of 29 posts

It is at street level and no post mentions stairs. All thirty give the ground floor. But whether there is a step at the door, how the door opens, whether a wheelchair or a pushchair could get in — nobody says. That is not a no; it means we do not know. Three mention generous space between tables and one a second room at the back, so the aisles are probably not tight, though we have not measured them. Nor do we know about children: several recommend it for family meals, but nobody reports bringing a child and no post mentions a high chair. The unisex lavatory is worth knowing in advance. If it matters, ring first — there are two numbers. The licensing record gives 02-498-5567; the number in eleven of the posts, 0507-1359-8525, looks like a relay. Which one is answered now, we have not checked.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • All thirty posts fall inside ten months, and those ten months are this restaurant's beginning. The licence dates from 2012, but several posts call it new and the first asado in the country, so the business at this address appears to have changed — any older review describes a different place. Four posts declare a hosted visit (January, March and May 2026); the other twenty-six say nothing, and saying nothing is not the same as taking nothing. Beyond that, the same sentences recur: apple wood in eighteen, six hours in twenty-four, 'handed down since prehistory' in nine. That is not evidence of money but evidence of a house script — one writer openly credits the restaurant's own listing for her menu photographs. What we can say is that anything traceable to those sentences is the restaurant's, and the things people put differently — the meat not being tough, the window seat, the fried rice not fitting — are ours. One post in thirty finds fault with any of the food: the fried rice, slightly beside the point. When praise is this even, it is hard to know how high to set your expectations — worth knowing before you go.
  • The lavatory is inside, and it is shared between men and women. Three posts place it indoors and one of them states plainly that it is unisex. Nobody describes its size, how many cubicles, or how it locks. Twenty-seven of the thirty do not mention it at all — inside, and shared, is the whole of what we know. For a place open until three, it is worth knowing.
  • It is at street level, and you can see the fire from the pavement. All thirty give the ground floor and none mentions stairs or a basement. The wood oven sits at the front, in view from outside, which makes the place hard to miss — one writer says the oven caught her eye before anything else, another that you can tell what it is from the frontage alone. One places it directly opposite the Seongsu galbi lane; several put it two minutes from exit 8. One mentions a second room further in.
  • Nobody wrote about coming alone. Nine posts name who came — four women, three friends, two women, a husband, a wife, a younger sibling — and all of them are two or more. The other twenty-one only recommend it for work dinners, dates and family meals, which we have not counted. The sets are built for two or three, so eating alone looks hard: even the cheapest is ₩59,000, and exactly one writer in thirty ordered a single 160g portion. Three mention a weekday lunch menu, which might be the answer for one person, but nobody ate it — all thirty came for dinner or later. What one person can eat here at midday, and for how much, we have not read.
