Torimura

토리무라 Tori is Japanese for bird or chicken and mura for village; none of the posts explains the name.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Torimura is a yakitori izakaya in the half-basement of a building on Wangsimni-ro 10-gil, a short walk from exit 7 of Ttukseom station. People come for binchotan-grilled skewer sets (five or eight), hot pots such as chicken shabu-shabu and spicy brisket jjamppong nabe, and fried dishes and udon with draught beer or highballs. It opens at 5 pm (4:30 at weekends) and runs past midnight. The five-skewer set was 17,000 won in posts up to April 2026 and 18,000 won from August. We read 30 posts dated 1 January to 1 October 2026; 27 record an actual visit. Two were about other places (the café upstairs and a nearby barbecue house) and one was an aggregated listing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Raw cabbage with a dipping paste comes to every table; thirteen posts mention it, describing the paste variously as ssamjang, doenjang or something like gochujang mixed with peanut sauce. Three got refills of the cabbage or the shabu-shabu broth, and two were served barley tea.
  2. There is a counter for solo drinkers as well as tables: eight posts describe the bar seats alongside two- and four-person tables or a group table. The group table by the entrance has a flame-effect humidifier in the middle that several posts liked; one writer booked a single counter seat through Naver and went alone.
  3. Eight posts found it quiet enough to talk; one noted the room doesn't echo, and others mention low J-pop in the background.
  4. Upgrading the five-skewer set to eight with a coupon is common: six posts mention the QR code on the sign outside or a Naver coupon, and two got the upgrade through a review or receipt event. One post missed out because the coupon only works before 7 pm.
2 more
  1. Most people dropped in as a second or third stop after dinner. Eight posts went with friends, two with family, two as a larger group, one as a couple and one alone; one family brought a child.
  2. It is walkable from Ttukseom station; six posts say it is close, most naming exit 7 (one said exit 5, five minutes).

Getting inside

In a basement13 of 27 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 6 (of 27 posts read)
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 3 (of 27 posts read)

It is a half-basement down a short flight of stairs; thirteen posts mention going down or call it semi-basement. A wooden-framed menu outside lets you check dishes and prices before heading down.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. Posts only say you go down stairs to a half-basement; none mentions a step, ramp or lift — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none.

The toilet is outside the restaurant: six posts say so, three of them add that it is a single unisex room, and one says you go out and back up the stairs to reach it. Several were surprised to find it clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Portions divide opinion: five posts found dishes such as the jjamppong nabe, yurinki or yaki udon generous, while one found the clams too small and another was surprised how small the five-skewer set was.
  • One post found the yakitori on the salty side and suggested asking for less; no other post raised it.
  • Prices rose in mid-2026: posts from January to April list the five-skewer set at 17,000 won, eight at 27,000, chicken shabu-shabu at 27,000 and unlimited highballs at 16,900; from August they read 18,000, 28,000, 29,000 and 17,900. A July receipt still showed 27,000 for the eight. Four posts thought it good value, one said the skewers aren't cheap, and one balked at paying 25,000 won for the set.
  • Seventeen posts give opening hours; nine agree on weekdays 17:00–01:30, Saturday 16:30–01:30 and Sunday 16:30–24:00. Two April posts have Saturday closing at midnight, one has weekdays closing at 01:00, one has Sunday open to 01:30 and one has a 17:30 weekend opening. Most of this is copied from the listing. Two posts say there is no regular day off.
  • No one reports waiting: three posts walked straight in, including one that found only two other tables at 6:30 on a weekday. But one saw almost every table fill after 7–8 pm, another found it nearly full on a Thursday evening, and one walk-in got the last free table.
  • One post booked a single counter seat through Naver and another recommends booking ahead; nobody describes phoning. The number several posts give is 0507-1448-7829.
