Bar

STAGGER

스태거 Seutaegeo Stagger is the English word for walking unsteadily, the way someone does after a few drinks.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Stagger is a craft-beer tap bar on the ground floor of a small building at 56 Seongdeokjeong-gil, Seongsu-dong. The taps rotate often and the house beer is Runners High. Food is limited to light snacks such as olives, salami and cheese, and a salad, and people bring in food from outside. We read 29 posts dated 24 December 2024 to 11 September 2026: 22 describe a visit, 3 are multi-bar listicles, and 4 were set aside as being about other places, including two about a Los Angeles café also called Stagger Coffee.

What sets it apart

  1. Bringing your own food is the norm here: 7 of the 22 visit posts say so, and they name what they brought — tonkotsu ramen from the convenience store next door, a packaged tteokbokki, fried chicken, fried pork from a nearby Vietnamese place. One March 2025 post mentions free black olives as a basic snack.
  2. This is a neighbourhood regulars' bar: 9 posts describe going back again and again — "the place I go most for beer", "my second home", the local hangout. One writer meets there weekly for a Japanese study group and describes dozens of people turning up for the bar's birthday on 1 March.
  3. Twelve posts went with friends, 3 with a partner or spouse, and 1 with family. None went alone; one post recommends it for drinking solo, but that writer went with company too.
  4. Seating is limited: 3 posts say so, and on busy nights some people end up standing. One post says there are both bar seats and tables.

  1. Five posts say the owners and staff were kind; several mention being asked about their taste and steered to a beer, or given a glass on the house.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 22 posts read)

Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. One post says it is on the ground floor; that is all we have.

Nobody says whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender; one post only says it was well kept.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours come only from one post that copied a listing (6 pm to 2 am); another says they waited a little because it opens at six. Two posts say to check Instagram for days off.
  • We don't know the prices: no post gives the price of a glass or what a visit cost. The only figures are from a September 2025 yakitori pop-up (2,000 won a skewer, and one pricey bottle), which we don't treat as the bar's usual prices.
  • A phone number appears only in one listicle, so we left it out. No post says whether you can book.
  • No post explains how to get there by subway or bus; one places it between Seoul Forest and Seongsu station, another dropped in while walking near Seoul Forest station.
  • No post describes queuing; one arrived before opening and waited a little.
  • Two listicles say the bar sells no food, but visit posts describe ordering olives, salami and a salad. We treat the listicles as copied text, not evidence.
  • A November 2025 post says the option to have Runners High poured Mlíko or Šnyt style had just started that day; a March 2026 post says there are four pours to choose from. Earlier posts don't mention it.
