SIDETEMPO

사이드템포 Saideutempo An English coinage, 'side tempo'; the posts never explain it, though the house coffees Tempo Latte and Temposimo carry the same word.

Compiled from 10 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sidetempo is a dessert café at 67 Seongdeokjeong-gil in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on a market street near Ttukdo Market. You pick baked goods with a tray and tongs (tigre at 3,800 won, Dubai chewy cookies, madeleines) and order coffee with a choice of beans; two posts put a latte at 6,500 won. We read 23 posts dated 1 January to 23 September 2026, 11 of them first-hand visits. Six of the 23 come from a blog named after the café itself and are not counted as evidence.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts call it spacious, with wide gaps between seats. Three call it quiet: the pop music is kept low, and one Saturday visitor found it calm because it sits off Seongsu's main streets.
  2. Four posts mention power outlets, all from people who came to study or work on a laptop; one says the outlets are at the wall-side seats and the Wi-Fi code is on the pickup counter.

Where it is

Map showing where SIDETEMPO is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Nobody says which floor it is on or whether there is a basement or upstairs area. Three posts say the entrance is tucked inside the building, reached by walking around through an alley.

Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that means unknown, not absent.

One post found the toilet clean with a bidet, but nobody says whether it is inside the café; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied blocks and the café's own posts.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on the chairs split: two posts found them hard and heavy, one found them surprisingly comfortable, and one said hard but fine. One post notes cushions by the entrance.
  • The Dubai cookie price moved: about 4,700 won each on 31 December 2025, 5,500 won each (11,000 a pair) from 14 January 2026, and 9,600 won a pair by June. Two January posts called the price fair, one June post called it still steep, and one found the cookie cheap but the tigre pricey.
  • One post differs sharply on the coffee: both the Brazil drip and the Americano tasted oily and flat, they left them and won't return. Another post liked the Americano smooth and low in acidity.
  • No post describes waiting. Two say there was no line, on a weekday in January and on 31 December at 2 p.m. Nobody wrote about weekend waits.
  • One post walked from Seongsu Station, about 15 minutes; a '16 minutes from exit 4' line elsewhere sits in a copied info block. No post came by bus.
  • Company is scattered: two posts went alone, one as a couple, one with a group of friends.
  • Five posts give the same opening hours: 11:00–19:00, closed Monday and Tuesday, last order 18:30 in three. One notes that a 7 p.m. close is early for Seongsu. One of the café's own posts says 9 a.m. at weekends in its info box and 11 a.m. in its text, so we set it aside.
  • Two posts list the phone number 0507-1431-1071. No post made a reservation; Naver booking is mentioned only in the café's own posts.
  • Six posts from a blog named after the café repeat one info box and the same phrases, and one opens 'Hello, this is Sidetempo'. Some are labelled self-paid, but we treat them all as the café's own promotion.
