SAND KABE
샌드카베 Saendeukabe Sand Kabe joins 'sand' with the Turkish word kahve, coffee — the house brews Turkish coffee in a cezve pot set in hot sand.

Sand Kabe is a cheesecake café in a red-brick building on Seoulsup 4-gil, near Seoul Forest. It stands on two things: a flourless 'melting' cheesecake (9,800 won) and cezve, Turkish coffee boiled in a small pot set in hot sand (6,000 won); cheesecake is the only dessert. Most people eat in, though four posts took cake away. Since 1 September 2026 the hours have changed, and it now closes at 5 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. We read 30 posts from 15 February to 3 October 2026; 26 of them record an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- The word that keeps coming up is quiet. Eight posts called it quiet — one went repeatedly in the evening and always found it so — and three came alone to rest or read. One post disagreed: at around 3 pm it was crowded and not quiet. Another found weekdays relaxed but weekend tables nearly full.
- Window seats come up often: six posts sat by the big windows or noted the sunlight. One warned that the window tables are close together, so keep secrets to yourself. Five posts said there are plenty of seats, from two-tops to a six-person table (about nine tables, one counted), and two found the wooden chairs comfortable.
- The menu photos agree on prices: 9,800 won for a melting cheesecake slice, 12,800 won for the 1.4x size, 10,800 won for matcha or chestnut, and 46,000 or 62,000 won for a whole cake. Three posts called it expensive (over 10,000 won a slice), one said it did not feel expensive, and three said it seemed dear until they tasted it. Three found the slice small; none called it large.
- Four posts took cake away, and melting comes up each time. Staff repeatedly told one buyer to keep it cold; another's gift had run all over by the time it was handed over; a third had it squashed flat on the subway. One wished there were an insulated bag option.
2 more
- No post reports waiting. Two went on weekends and walked straight in (one at 12:30). One said it filled up soon after opening and guessed weekends might mean a queue.
- It is close to Seoul Forest station (Suin-Bundang line). Two posts reached it on foot or by subway, one about ten minutes from Seongsu station. The '381 m from exit 5' figure is copied listing information.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but you climb a few steps from the street: four posts described going up stairs and in through a door on the right. Three made clear it is not the basement — one noted a different restaurant down there.
No one said whether a wheelchair or pram can get in. Four posts mention steps up to the door, and none mentions a ramp or lift — which means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one.
The toilet is outside the café, by the stairs; three posts said you take a key from the counter (one with a teddy-bear fob). Two called it clean and one described it as single-occupancy. No one said whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The pet policy has changed. Listings copied into February 2026 posts said pets were welcome; an October 2026 post said the writer used to bring their dog, but this time was told that a change in the law meant no entry, even in a dog stroller.
- The opening hours have changed. Until August 2026 most posts copied 'daily 12:00–21:00', though two gave an 11 am opening with a 5 pm Monday close and one a Thursday closure. A 14 September post copied a notice at the door: from 1 September, 12:00–17:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays and 12:00–21:00 Wednesday to Sunday; two October posts agree. Several posts say it closes early once the cake sells out.
- We can't say whether cezve is always on. One June 2026 post hoped to see it, but every table that day got machine coffee. Decaf was unavailable in an April 2026 post and could be ordered for regular coffee by October.
- Opinions on size split one to one: one post found it fairly roomy, another said it is not very big.
- Seven posts list the phone as 0507-1375-7531; one gives 010-8824-7531. No post actually phoned to book — there are only suggestions to pre-order a whole cake and a copied 'reservations' label.
- Two April 2026 posts are templated profiles — identical review statistics, the same quoted visitor reviews and the same 'not confirmed' table, with no sign of a visit. We left both out of the counts.
