Rude is a bakery cafe and a bar at once, on the second floor of a building on Yeonmujang-gil, the main street of Seongsu. Green sign, green fittings; coffee and pastry by day, and highballs, cocktails, beer and wine from the hour it opens — several writers describe the lights coming down in the evening as the bar takes over. Two Dubai-chocolate desserts carry the place: the *dujonku* cookie, made in a limited number each day, and *dusaengcho*, the shop's own version with the marshmallow shell swapped for soft chocolate. The licence dates from August 2025, so everything we read was written between January and August 2026 — eight months.

What sets it apart
- It is on the second floor and the stairs are the only way up. Thirteen writers describe climbing them, and four warn that you cannot see the cafe from the street. Two landmarks recur: the green sandwich board on the pavement, and KZM, the clothing brand next door — three posts say to find KZM and the stairs are beside it. Two mention posters along the stairwell wall.
- You can drink here from opening time. Eleven posts mention the bar list, and four are surprised by it — they came for dessert and found beer, house wine and cocktails. One writer describes candles being lit on each table as the evening lights come down; another says coffee gives way to the bar around seven. But only two writers actually ordered a drink, and both of those posts were paid for — four more say they will drink here next time. Nobody gives a price.
- Ten posts mention a terrace, and they do not quite mean the same thing. Some describe open-air seats over the street; one calls them "indoors but with the feel of a terrace, a wall of glass"; another finds "half-outdoor seats behind clear plastic at the back." Two writers went in winter and found it warm — heated, they say, comfortable in the cold. One calls those the most sought-after seats in the room.
- One post reports a ninety-minute limit — busy street, the writer explains, though nobody was strict about it. That is one person; the other eighteen say nothing about a limit, and three write about staying longer than they meant to.
- Two writers order from the table by QR code. Others describe ordering and collecting at the counter, so both seem possible — but no post says so plainly.

Nobody writes about a step at the door, or whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across all twenty-nine posts the words for wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, level change, threshold and lift appear not once — we checked by machine and by hand. Thirteen writers describe the stairs, but stairs existing and the place being impossible are two different statements, and we only have the first. One writer calls the stairs steep; that is the whole of what we know.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

What we do not know
- We collected twenty-nine posts and counted nineteen. Ten are out. Seven of them went up on a single day, 8 January 2026, in a batch: bodies all 630–800 characters, the same sentences word for word, even the same clothing shops listed as stops along the way. Not one of the seven names a menu item or a price. One of them writes that the limited-run cookie is delicious and, in the same sentence, that the writer did not eat it. The other three: one gives the address as a basement on a different block and describes walking *down* the stairs (this shop is on the second floor, and the other twenty-eight posts all walk up); one is built on a frequently-asked-questions template and gets the opening hours wrong by an hour at one end and two at the other, with nothing ordered; one summarises a YouTube channel's visit, so its writer never came.
- Nobody records queueing. The word appears once, and not about this shop: it opens a sentence contrasting the crowded ground-floor cafes of the street with this one, which the writer found comparatively empty because it is upstairs. Three writers say the relief of finding a free table was the point — one had failed at three other cafes first. What does run out is the limited-run cookie: two writers found it sold out. No waiting, but come early.
- Only two writers say the toilet is inside the shop, and both saw it themselves; one adds that it is small but clean. The other seventeen posts we counted do not mention it at all.
- No post says whether the toilets are separated by sex. The two writers who found the toilet do not say.
- Five writers say who they came with, and all five came with friends, in twos or small groups. Among the nineteen posts we counted, nobody came alone, nobody brought a child, and nobody held a party. Four posts guess that the terrace would suit a large group, or that one could comfortably come alone — guesses, not visits, so we did not count them. One writer saw a large party of foreign visitors, but that was somebody else's table.
- The hours table shows only Friday, Saturday and Sunday, for a reason. Closing time changes through the week: nine posts give the same pattern — nine at night on Monday and Tuesday, ten on Wednesday and Thursday, eleven on Friday and Saturday, ten on Sunday. Our table has no slot for "Monday and Tuesday" or "Wednesday and Thursday", so those live in this sentence instead. For Sunday, six posts close at ten, one at nine, and one opens at noon rather than eleven. And the two most recent posts, from June and July 2026, give a flat eleven-to-nine — whether the weekly pattern ended or the writers simply flattened it, we do not know. Only one post claims there is no regular closing day, so we did not put that in the table either.
- Four posts disclose payment. Three went up on 12 January 2026, each opening with a line saying a fee was received; a fourth, from 26 January, tags itself sponsored. The three share sentences — the same landmark instruction about the clothing shop next door, the same line about drinking from opening time, in all three. All three record what they ordered, so we kept them in the count, but we did not count the judgements that came out of the shared sentences: that is one text printed three times, not three people agreeing. Two other posts state they paid their own way.
