A Texas-style low-and-slow barbecue house down a lane by Ttukdo market. The room holds three or four tables — ten writers say so — which is why takeaway and delivery carry half the trade. The menu is effectively one plate: pulled pork smoked fourteen hours, brisket eighteen, baby back ribs four, with a house sausage, buns griddled in butter, coleslaw, pickles, jalapeños, sauces and strawberry jam. The shop tells you how to eat it — meat and slaw piled on a bun — and four writers name that jam as the thing that makes it. It is a walk from the station: ten to fifteen minutes from Seoul Forest, and six writers tell you to take the bus. Three thought it was closed because the frontage is so dark, and not one writer ever queued.

  **This place is effectively one plate: nineteen writers describe it and fourteen ordered it.** Three meats on one board — **pulled pork** from shoulder, smoked at low heat for at least fourteen hours and rested for twelve; **brisket**, eighteen hours low and slow over hickory; and **baby back ribs**, four hours smoked (three writers copy the shop's own account of it). With them come a house sausage, six mini buns, nachos with salsa or chips, house coleslaw, pickles, jalapeños, sauces and **strawberry jam.** **Tenderness is what they all write about** — the ribs part from the bone as the knife goes in, a fork alone lifts the meat away.

  **The price rose across five years and the sizing shrank with it**: ₩49,000 for two to three people in spring 2021, ₩51,000 in August 2022, and ₩57,000 **for two** by September 2024 — the same board, fewer people. There is a four-person version (300g of each meat, eight buns) and a **half-and-half** for those who want only two of the meats. **Six writers call the portion generous**, one expecting too little and leaving food behind. **The shop tells you how to eat it** — meat, coleslaw and sauce piled on a bun — and **four writers single out the strawberry jam** as the surprise that makes it.

  **The buns refill; the coleslaw does not.** One writer refilled her buns after demolishing them burger-style; another asked for more coleslaw expecting about a thousand won and was startled by **₩2,500.** A takeaway customer likewise records one coleslaw included and one paid for. **Chips can be swapped for nachos.** **The buns arrive griddled in butter** — three writers mention the smell, and one notes that toasting them is why you do not tire of them.

  **One writer found the salad thin.** **Count the buns if you are ordering to take away**: eight come with the four-person platter, and one writer halved them into sixteen and **bought tortillas separately** rather than paying for more — wrapping the meat in those, she says, was excellent. One notes the pickles are house-made.

What everyone who took it away notes is **how carefully it is packed** — insulated bags for the meat, everything wrapped to stay warm. **People carry it to the river and to housewarmings.**

  **It cools in traffic** — one writer had to reheat the meat and buns after a slow drive across the city. **It is on Baemin**; one writer repeats a five-star rating there, which is hearsay rather than something she saw. One phoned ahead and collected.

Getting inside

Nobody writes about wheelchair or pushchair access. None of the nineteen mentions a ramp or a step. It is on the ground floor and appears to be entered straight from the lane — one writer notes camping gear set out in front — but whether there is a step, we do not know. What ten writers do agree on is that there are only three or four tables, so you may reasonably expect little room to move inside; that is our inference rather than a record. Call 02-464-7977.

What we do not know

• Eleven of the thirty posts we read were not about this restaurant. The name is three common words, so anything sharing one of them came along — red velvet, red wine, a smoke factory, a guesthouse, another café called Greenery House, a tea house — and in those ten the shop's name never appears once. A restaurant-jobs listing and an article on Seoul's lodging trade were among them. We counted the remaining nineteen. The hours changed substantially across five years, and we put no opening times in the table. Three posts from 2021–22 give closing at 1am with Tuesdays off; two from 2024–25 give closing at 21:00, last orders 20:30, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Closing moved four hours earlier and a second rest day appeared. The older figures outnumber the newer ones, so publishing by count would send you there at ten at night to a locked door. We therefore kept only the rest days and the last order, both from the later posts and neither contradicted by the earlier ones. Check before you go. The price rose while the sizing shrank: the platter was ₩49,000 for two to three in 2021, ₩51,000 in 2022, and ₩57,000 for two in 2024. Read the two together. Refills cost. The buns were topped up for one writer, but the coleslaw is ₩2,500 — a surprise to the writer who expected about a thousand. A takeaway customer paid for a second one too. Small things. The meat is not Korean — one writer read the origin notice and says so. The toilet is inside, per the one writer who used it. One believes it is run by a couple; several remark on the clutter of objects. You cannot watch the barbecue being cooked — the room is too small for the pit to be on show, which one writer missed.
• Nobody writes about floors or stairs. The address is the ground floor and all nineteen posts leave it there. What is recorded of the room: three or four tables; a glimpse of the kitchen with a large smoker in it; a dark red-and-black fit-out hung with posters; and window glass that mirrors so well that people waiting for the bus outside use it to check their reflection. No post mentions an upstairs or a private room.
• Not one writer queued. One regular has never waited; another found the room quiet on a holiday; a third arrived early to an uncrowded house; a fourth walked in to find nobody there at all; a fifth found one other table occupied. With only three or four tables, the reason there is no queue seems to be that it sits off the main drag and a long walk from the station. Five writers still recommend booking — with so few seats, one party fills the place. Naver takes reservations, and one writer booked for a Thursday evening rather than risk it. Another says you probably do not need to, tucked away as it is. Book if there are several of you: there is a four-person platter, and one post puts the group limit at eight.
