QUÁ is a Vietnamese restaurant on the first floor above a bubble-tea shop, midway between Seoul Forest and Ttukseom stations. A sign inside reads WELCOME TO LITTLE HANOI, and the kitchen cooks Hanoi pho, Da Nang bun cha and Nha Trang banh xeo. With its mint tiles, red banquettes and neon, three writers say it feels more American diner than Hanoi. There are no reservations; you join the queue through an app. You order and pay at a tablet on the table. Noodles and coriander are refilled once, free. What sets it apart
- No reservations; you join the queue through an app — and the waiting area is small. Twelve writers describe waiting, nine walked straight in. The waits are short: five minutes once, ten minutes three times, and nobody reports longer. Three put it down to turnover — people eat pho quickly. What divides them is where you wait: three say only the first two parties fit inside and the rest stand on the stairs or outside, one nearly left over it, and one thought it would be grim in summer. People miss the terminal — one writer could not see it from street level and found it only at the top of the stairs, and warns that standing behind the queue without registering gets you nowhere. The nine who did not wait name their times: at opening (three), mid-afternoon (two), 11:30 on a weekday, and the dead hours of the evening. One copied the shop's own notice: the peak is 11:30 to 1.
- You order and pay at a tablet on the table — fourteen posts, payment up front. The tablet also tells you how to eat: five steps for the banh xeo, two methods each for the pho and the bun cha, and eight writers followed them. One notes the wifi details are there too. The most repeated practical fact is the refill: eleven say noodles and coriander come again once, free (posts disagree whether that is per bowl or per table). One adds that the pickled onion is refillable; another that a table of three gets two dishes of it. Parties of five and over must call a server rather than use the tablet, says one, and leftovers cannot be boxed up, says another.
- Write a receipt review and it arrives at the table. Seven writers took it: a fried dough stick or a soft drink, once per table. Worth holding in mind while reading anything written about this place — not one of the twenty-four declares a sponsorship, but the reviews are not written for nothing. One writer was given something outright: her party arrived just after an opening promotion ended, and the owner sent over a prawn roll.
- Between two stations. Fifteen posts describe the walk: six name exit 1 at Seoul Forest (four give it as just over 200 metres, two as two or three minutes on foot), five name exit 8 at Ttukseom (three to five minutes). Four simply say it is midway between them, and one adds that Seongsu station is close too. The landmarks are clear: three say it is above a bubble-tea shop, one that the red sign is hard to miss, one that you pass a well-known bakery and then look up. One came by bus and found the stop home directly outside; another lists the routes. Nobody reports getting lost — though one warns that since the restaurant is upstairs, you have to spot the street door.
- Eight call it roomy and one calls it tight. The roomy ones describe a mix of tables for two and four with good window seats (four single out the window), and two note a bar counter and single seats that make eating alone easy. The dissenter says the room is small but well laid out and turns over quickly. One notes a place for bags at every table, one that the chairs are comfortable, one that disposable aprons are by the door. Two mention the red divider between the two-tops. Two write about the cooling: a 2024 post counts three ceiling units and says it stayed comfortable through the rainy season; a 2026 post simply found the temperature right for a hot day. Seven mention the merchandise cabinet — t-shirts, mugs, plates, a diffuser, keyrings.

There is no car park, and not one writer records parking a car. A list of nearby car parks appears in close to ten posts in the same order — the district sports centre, an apartment complex, a cinema, an office building — with walking times that do not agree between posts, and rates in three that do not agree either. All of it is copied, so none of it is counted: nobody says where they actually left a car or what it cost. Only two write it in their own words, and both amount to the same advice: come on foot. If you are driving, a copied list is all we have.

It is up a flight of stairs, and one person thought to write that down. Twelve posts mention the first floor, and one adds: you go up a staircase, so bear it in mind if you are bringing a parent or a child. That is the only sentence in twenty-four posts written with access in mind. Another warns that the stairs start immediately inside the door and the ceiling is low enough that tall people should mind their heads. Beyond those, the words for wheelchair, pushchair, ramp and threshold never appear. Nobody mentions a lift either. That is an absence of reports, not an absence of access. One writer notes the aisle between tables is narrow enough that two people brush past each other.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- This shop has changed both its address and its name — do not go by an old one. It opened on 4 July 2024 at 94-2 Wangsimni-ro, one floor up, as the second Seongsu branch, while the *main* Seongsu branch was then in a basement elsewhere. A writer queueing at the opening recorded exactly that, noting this room was the larger of the two. The basement shop later moved into this one. An April 2025 post says it relocated a few months earlier, and two regulars compare the rooms side by side: the old basement was dim and snug, this one bright and clean; one was so disoriented she had to look it up, and warns that anyone remembering the old Seongsu QUÁ should check the current address before setting off. The name has changed three times too — second branch, then Seongsu branch, and since November 2025 the main Seongsu branch. Our own record still carried the 2024 name; we have corrected it.
- Six of the thirty posts are not counted here. One belongs to another branch and has been moved there: only the check-in widget carries our address, while the body gives a different street, a different phone number, different hours — and describes walking *down* into the place. We are up a flight of stairs. Three were rejected outright: one names eleven other restaurants and never once says QUÁ; one is an advertisement for a franchise seminar that lists five nearby restaurants; one is a day-trip guide to a lake across the city. Two more went but are not counted as visits: one is a numbered round-up whose entry for us is the shop's directory listing copied whole, review count and car parks included, and one is a single line in a park guide. The denominator is twenty-four posts, and twenty-four posts here means twenty-four different people. Nobody declares a sponsorship; eight state they paid their own way.
- Four writers describe the toilet from having used it. All four say it is inside, and they agree on where: immediately left as you come in. It is shared between men and women — two say so explicitly and nobody says otherwise. Three call it clean, and one notes there is mouthwash. Whether there is an accessible cubicle, nobody says.
- Three posts say a celebrity has been here; none of them saw anything. All three name the same singer and all three hedge the same way — it is said to be her sort of place, apparently she came. Nobody reports a photograph or a signature, so we have counted it as nothing at all. The television appearances are the same: two name programmes, neither watched the broadcast. What people did see is on the door — five mention the Blue Ribbon sticker, one of them noting stickers for two consecutive years, one adds a Red Ribbon, and one photographed the origin-of-ingredients board inside.
