Perment Bake Shop sits on a corner of the Seoulsup café street, five minutes from Seoulsup station exit 5, under a blue awning. The bread is on the ground floor; most of the seating is in the basement. The fig and cream cheese baguette and the kouign-amann are what it is known for, with a wall of baguettes and campagnes beside them. Open 9am to 7pm daily, last orders 6:30. Getting inside

There is a terrace, and a pushchair will get in. Two writers sat outside; one was startled by sparrows landing at their feet. One brought a pushchair and reports that although there is a step at the entrance it did not get in the way, and the tables are far enough apart — on the ground floor, that is.

What we do not know

• Come in the morning. Eleven posts mention things being sold out. Those that give a time: after 2pm the kouign-amann was gone and the writer ordered delivery instead; at lunch the baskets were already patchy; at four many were empty; by half past five much had gone; at six one writer got the last fig baguette; and one says it started emptying within minutes of opening. Three do note that they keep baking through the day, so it never quite runs bare. One writer watched the last one taken from under their hand.
• Two posts raise hygiene, and they are easy to lose among twenty-eight that praise the bread, so we set them down separately. On 25 September 2026 a writer found dog hairs in two different loaves — one on the fig, one in the olive bread. They ended: in a place that allows dogs, the bread would be better handed over from behind the counter — and said they will not buy bread here again. A 10 August post notes, mildly, that there is occasionally a fly. That the bread sits open in baskets and customers serve themselves with tongs is visible in many of the photographs.
• We cannot tell you whether you may bring a dog. Six posts address it and they do not line up even in date order — 9 May: it used to allow pets on the ground floor, seems not to now. 11 May: no pets. 27 May: babies and dogs welcome on the ground floor. 10 August: yes kids — pets were allowed and it changed to no pets. 15 August: Yes Kids No Pet Zone. 25 September: a writer calls it a dog-friendly café. That the rule changed at least once seems clear; when, and in which direction, does not. Ring and ask.
• The toilet is not in the café. Three posts explain: you take a card key from the counter, go out of the building and up to the second floor. One adds that men's and women's are separate and that it is very clean. All three say the same thing in the end — inconvenient, but well kept.
• There is an oven for warming your bread. Four posts mention it. One relays the sign: pastries, baguettes and campagnes only, and no plates inside. Water is at the same self-service bar, and one writer notes they were allowed to sit and eat without ordering a drink. The baguettes are sliced if you ask (six posts). One found a note on the cinnamon roll telling them to warm it for thirty seconds.
• There is no car park. Eleven posts say so. Four send you to the district sports centre, and one gives the price: ₩4,200 an hour. The same writer adds that after 5pm you can buy an overnight pass across the road at Seoulsup D-Tower for ₩12,000 until 7am. One post alone says parking is possible, adding in the same breath that it is very tight — out of step with the other eleven, so we have not counted it against them, only recorded it.
• The queue is at the till, not for a table. Eight posts mention waiting, and five of them mean the till — fifteen minutes with two staff on; more than ten minutes just to pay; a good while standing there holding a tray. Against that, four say they sat straight down, because the basement always has room. The queue here is for paying, not for seats.
• What the shop says about itself is what the shop says about itself. One post copies the claims — baked and discarded the same day, premium European butter, top-grade French Bagatelle Label Rouge flour — and one more repeats the French butter. Both are reading a sign, not checking anything. One post mentions that some of the baguettes are vegan.
• One post says there is another branch in Anguk. That is the whole of it — one writer, once, and nobody else mentions it. It fits the registered name, which reads as a Seongsu branch of a company. All thirty posts we gathered carry the same Seoulsup address.
