OSHI BLACK

오시 블랙 성수 Osi Beullaek Seongsu Oshi is Japanese for one's favourite (as in 'my fave'), and Black matches the all-black interior; one post says it is a premium line of the Oshi okonomiyaki shops.

A teppan okonomiyaki and yakisoba place in a brick building's basement on Seoulsup 4-gil, near Seoul Forest. There is a counter wrapped around the griddle and tables behind it; the classic okonomiyaki is 18,000 won, the pork-belly yakisoba roll 14,000 won, and the two-person set 37,000–38,000 won. Many people pair it with Kirin draft or a highball. We read 30 posts dated September 15 to October 5, 2026; four were about other places, and 22 of the remaining 26 describe an actual visit. The other four were write-ups with no visit or a line in a list.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Twelve posts sat at the griddle counter and watched the chefs cook; several note the finished okonomiyaki is set on a hot plate in front of you so it stays warm. It is not counter-only: seven posts mention tables behind the counter, and the family with children sat at one.
  2. No post describes waiting, and nine say they walked straight in — but mostly at quiet times such as a late weekday evening, 3:30 p.m. or the Chuseok holiday, and two (a June visit and a Thursday at 6 p.m.) got the last free seat. There is a CatchTable waitlist machine at the entrance; one post mentions a bench to sit on while you wait.
  3. Eight posts call the staff kind. Three say a little bear candle was put on their okonomiyaki without asking for it, and many mention mints handed over in a heart-shaped box at the end.
  4. Seven posts got something for leaving a review — a black-sesame tomato starter, extra shrimp or a rice-cake topping. One spells out a free choice of shrimp, rice cake, mozzarella or macaroni on an okonomiyaki.

  1. Five posts found the portions generous; one said they nearly burst, another that the yakisoba roll was bigger than expected.

Getting inside

In a basement14 of 21 posts

Fourteen posts describe going down to the basement level. Several mention the stairwell walls covered in notes guests leave after answering the question cards set at each seat.

We don't know about wheelchair or stroller access. Five posts mention going down stairs and none mentions a lift or ramp — that means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one. The family who went with children found it cramped for small kids.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside the shop or split by gender; one post mentions notes on the toilet door and another just says there's a toilet key.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on seasoning split: two posts found it salty (one was thirsty all day), one found it not strongly seasoned. On richness, one post found it heavy and one did not.
  • Only one post describes the walk, from Ttukseom Station on the way to Seoul Forest. Distances such as 384 m from Seoul Forest Station exit 5 appear in several posts but are copied listing details.
  • Five posts went on a date, three with family (children, a sibling, a mother) and two with friends. No post clearly went alone; comments that it would suit solo diners are guesses.
  • The opening hours seem to have changed, but we're not sure. Posts up to September 26 give 11:00–22:00 Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday; three posts from October 2–3 give 11:00–22:30 every day. All of these are copied listings; one post says it opens at 11:30, one copied listing says closed Mondays and another says open every day. Last orders are given as 20:50, 21:00 or 21:40. Several posts agree there is no afternoon break.
  • Prices mostly agree, with two exceptions: the two-person set is given as 37,000 won (October 3) and 38,000 won (September 26), and the mochi tonpei as 9,000 won twice and about ten thousand once. No post totals what a meal for two cost; two say it is not expensive.
  • The phone number 0507-1477-3510 appears identically in eight posts. Several copy that bookings go through Naver or CatchTable, and one post found booking easy on a weekday afternoon; no one describes booking by phone.
  • Three write-ups (September 21 and 22, October 1) read in the shop's own voice ('please come', 'we'll be waiting') and repeat the same menu run-down and Chuseok opening notice. They describe no visit, so we counted none of them.
