Notre Don is a pastry boutique up a flight of stairs on Seoulsup 2-gil. The name is French for our gift, our gift as in talent, and the shop's own line is that it gives you its craft. It is the first premises of two chefs, Kim Myeong-jun and Ha Min-jae, and what it sells is petits gâteaux, madeleines and financiers, and coffee. There are five or six seats and half the trade is takeaway — gift boxes and cool bags come up as often as anything eaten in. A collaboration with Valrhona marks forty years of its Guanaja dark chocolate. Open until ten, half past at weekends. All thirty posts we read fall between 9 and 25 September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Twenty-seven posts talk about taking something away — half of this shop is a gift shop. Five madeleines come boxed and bagged for ₩28,000, seven financiers for ₩32,000, and the Valrhona anniversary selection for ₩35,000. One writer suggests them for the kind of occasion where you hand out dozens. The cool bag is free — two posts note the ice pack comes with it at no charge. The mousse cakes, though, want a fridge within two hours. There is an online shop too: three writers had a box delivered from the Notre Don at Home store, all three reporting it arrived undisturbed. Those three, note, never set foot in the place.
  2. You can watch it being made. Seven posts describe the glassed-in kitchen: a pâtissier piping mousse inside the display window; chefs visible at work, which one writer says makes her trust what she eats; four professionals shaping cookies and desserts by hand. Two remark on how many staff there are. One noticed signatures written in white pen on the kitchen glass by people who had visited. Seven give the chefs' backgrounds, converging on the same two names and a television baking programme — which we could not verify. Two note that orders are carried to the table and laid out with fork and knife.

Parking

13 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot13 of 30 posts

There is no car park. Thirteen posts say so, every one of them pointing at public parking nearby. Nobody says they parked. Two leave something usable, though: several name the Ttukseom retarding-basin car park, and one gives the rate — ₩150 per five minutes, ₩1,800 an hour. Another simply advises coming by train, since parking here is both hard and dear. The stations are close: fourteen posts put it at 605 metres and eight to twelve minutes from Ttukseom exit 8, or about ten minutes from Seoulsup exit 5.

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

Second floor8 of 30 posts

Seven posts say you go up steps to get in, but not one says how many, whether there is a lip at the door, or whether another way exists. Across thirty posts the words wheelchair, stroller, ramp, lift and threshold never appear once. One writer says "just a few steps up and you are at the door", another calls it "a first floor you reach by about half a flight" — neither looked at the doorway itself. So we do not know whether you can get in without steps. That is not the same as saying you cannot: nobody wrote it down.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Everything we know was written inside seventeen days — all thirty posts fall between 9 and 25 September 2026, with nothing before or after. Two things probably explain the bunching. One is a review offer: write one and you get a Valrhona Guanaja chocolate latte, normally ₩10,000. Six posts mention it and several took it. The other is television: seven say the chef appeared on a baking programme, and one gives the episode and date. No post discloses a sponsorship — we checked to the last hashtag and found no 'provided for review', no #ad. Three say they paid their own way; twenty-seven say nothing either way. They are not copies of one another — we found no shared passages and each ordered something different. But it is worth knowing you are reading posts with a drink riding on them.
  • The address says ground floor; in practice you go up stairs. Nine posts point this out, and one warns outright: the ground floor is a different shop, do not walk in. Another explains why — the floor below is half-sunken, so what is registered as the ground floor is up a flight. Others describe it as half a level, or a few steps to the door, so it does not read as a long climb. But no post mentions a lift, and none says whether there is a step at the door, how many stairs there are, or whether a wheelchair or pushchair could manage — which means we do not know, not that it cannot be done. Nor does any of the thirty mention a lavatory. If it matters, the number is 010-7351-1125.
  • There are five or six seats. Thirteen posts call it small, and those who count settle around six: six seats only; about five tables; six or seven. They are mostly for two or three, so one writer suggests coming as a pair rather than a group, while another notes a couple of places facing the wall that would suit someone on their own. When it fills, there is a time limit — three posts record ninety minutes at busy times. The queue runs through a CatchTable kiosk at the door, and takeaway customers skip it entirely. Four describe waiting — two parties ahead at a weekend, fifteen minutes on a weekday, 'a little' — and three walked straight in, all three on a weekday afternoon.
  • They disagree about the price, and the fault line is clear. Two call it dear: a writer working through twenty-eight cafés puts the ₩14,000 gâteau and ₩6,000 americano down as genuinely refined and brutally priced; another ties it to the district, where parking is scarce and expensive too. Those who call it reasonable are thinking of it as a present: one works out that a ₩14,000 blanc and a ₩13,500 mascarpone-berry come to ₩27,500, so a single cake makes a handsome gift for the mid-teens of thousands; another says it looks like hotel work at a price that does not. Fourteen thousand won is steep for a café slice and cheap for a gift — that is where the posts part. The dearest single plate is the Valrhona Guanaja 40 at ₩18,000.
  • Nobody wrote about the toilet. The word does not appear once in thirty posts — not whether it is inside the shop or shared with the building, not whether it is split by sex, not whether you have to climb to the second floor for it. We know nothing about it. With only five or six seats and half the trade going out the door as gifts, few visitors had reason to use one and write it down.
