Mirak Bajirak Kalguksu

미락바지락칼국수 Bajirak kalguksu is knife-cut noodle soup in a Manila-clam broth; none of the posts explains what 'Mirak' means.

Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →

A kalguksu shop on Sangwon 10-gil, a short walk down an alley from Ttukseom Station. Clam kalguksu, chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang are all 10,000 won, with cold soy-milk noodles (11,000 won) in summer. You order on a tablet at the table and help yourself to kimchi and pickled chilies from tubs on each table; several posts added a big seafood pancake and a jar of makgeolli. We read 17 posts from June 2025 to September 2026; one is just a line in a list inside a post about another noodle shop, and 15 describe an actual meal.

Rows without a count: 5 of 12 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Eleven posts said the portions are big. One said the shelled clams filled a bin the size of the bone bucket at a pork-bone stew shop; another said shelling them all made their fingers ache. None said otherwise.
  2. Five posts said from experience that there is a wait at lunch. One advised arriving by 11:30 to avoid it; another arrived around 11:00 to an empty room but said weekdays from noon to 1:30 are busiest. Visits after 1 pm, around 2 pm and right after the 5 pm reopening found it quiet. One post said there are no reservations and you queue outside.
  3. Nine posts ordered on the tablet at the table. Payment is taken when you order — one writer called out to staff and felt silly — and one post noted the tablet can split the bill.
  4. Seven posts called the prices easy on the wallet, citing a 10,000-won bowl at a time when lunch out usually costs more; none called it expensive. One post said the seafood pancake is pricey but large.

  1. Three posts said Onnuri gift certificates or Seoul Pay are accepted; one saw the notice at the entrance, and two came specifically to spend Onnuri payback credit.
  2. Seven posts walked from a station. The exits they named differ: about five minutes from Ttukseom exit 3 or exit 4, about ten from exit 2, or about ten from Seongsu Station. They said it is easy to find just off the main road.

Parking

1 posts say you can park; 2 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Parking is unclear. Two posts said there is no lot of its own, one parked in the single space out front, and two saw that space but were unsure it was usable. The 'no parking' line in several posts' copied info blocks was not counted.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 16 posts read)
Toilet inside2 of 16 posts

Two posts said it is on the ground floor; none mentioned a basement or upper floor.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. One post came with a baby but did not describe the entrance — nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as saying there is a barrier.

Two posts said the toilet is inside the restaurant. Whether it is shared or separate appears only in one copied info block, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 17 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on size split: five posts found it roomier than expected, two said it is not large, and one said not very big but plenty of seats. One post said tables are close together, so it is not quiet.
  • One post came with a baby and said there were no baby utensils or high chairs, adding that the kalguksu is not spicy and suits children.
  • Who people came with does not cluster: one post each came alone, with parents and a baby, as a couple, and with two coworkers; the rest did not say. Several noted the lunch crowd is mostly office workers.
  • Twelve posts listed opening hours, mostly copied blocks. Ten agree on weekdays 11:00–21:30 with a 16:00–17:00 break and Saturdays closed; five add that Sunday closes at 21:00. One July 2025 post alone said open Saturday and closed Sunday. Three gave a 15:00 last order before the break. Seven posts listed the phone number, 02-497-7749; one said there are no reservations.
