CONCASSE
콩카세 Kongkase Concassé is a French kitchen term for tomatoes that have been peeled and roughly chopped — the menu's first page explains the name this way, as a nod to a basic of Western cooking.

Concasse is a Western-style restaurant on the ground floor of a red-brick building on Wangsimni-ro 5-gil in Seongsu, between Seoul Forest and Ttukseom stations. Pastas, risottos and gnocchi run 17,000-23,000 won, the rolled fresh-pasta lasagna is 23,000 won and the beef Wellington 53,000 won; you order by QR code at the table and warm olive ciabatta arrives first. A long table wraps around a real tree in the middle of the room, with two-seaters along the windows. We read 30 posts from July 10 to October 4, 2026. Five were about the Anguk branch (a hanok in Jongno) and were set aside; the remaining 25 all describe eating at the Seongsu shop. Of those 25, 15 ordered the lasagna and 14 the potato gnocchi.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Windows come up more than anything else: 17 of 25 posts mention the floor-to-ceiling glass, window seats or daylight. One writer said the ceiling is high and the windows big enough that the lights are barely needed by day; two who went on rainy days still wrote about the view. Another noted there are only a few window two-seaters, so arrive early for one.
- No one wrote about waiting. Five posts said they walked straight in: two weekend lunches, a Tuesday at 6 p.m. (plenty of seats, one said), right after the afternoon break, and a day without a booking. The writer who arrived after the break added that the room filled up quickly once dinner started.
- You order through a QR code on the table; 9 posts say so. One mentions a Toss QR sticker on the table corner; another says there is a paper menu but only the QR screen shows dish photos. One writer paid at the counter on the way out.
- No one complained about slow food; 4 posts said it came quickly. A weekday-noon visitor said the first dish arrived in under ten minutes, another said everything comes within ten minutes, and one noted the lasagna followed the gnocchi about three minutes later.

There is no parking of its own; 4 posts say so. All 5 who drove parked elsewhere, four of them at the Seongdong-gu sports centre about three minutes' walk away. One writer, who also visited nearby shops, paid 12,250 won for 2 hours 54 minutes.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 5 (of 24 posts read) |

It is on the ground floor, not a basement: 5 posts describe it as the ground floor of a red-brick building, one adding that you go in through the building entrance and then the shop door on the first floor.
Nobody wrote about a step at the door, stairs, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post describes going in a left-hand entrance and then through an automatic door on the right. That is not evidence of step-free access, only that no one mentioned it.
Two posts say the toilet is outside the restaurant, in the building, and that it was clean. Two others only mention needing to take a key. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing info, not in anyone's own account.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Copied opening hours disagree. Sixteen posts give closing as 21:30 and four as 22:00. Most list the break as 15:30-17:00 on weekdays and 16:00-17:00 at weekends, but three say the weekend break starts at 16:30 and two say the weekday break starts at 15:00. All of this is copied from listings; no post gives a closing day for the Seongsu shop.
- Prices are consistent across the August-October posts. The earliest post, from July 10, lists different names and one different price (vongole at 17,000 won, a truffle risotto and a shrimp risotto); we can't tell whether the menu changed or it was copied wrong. Only one post gave a meal total: green salad, mushroom soup and vongole plus a coffee and sparkling water came to 47,000 won.
- Several posts give the same phone number, 0507-1409-2324. Many copy that bookings are taken on Catch Table and Naver, but only one writer actually booked ahead. One post gives corkage as 30,000 won a bottle, so bringing your own is not free.
- Several posts mention a plaque from the TV show 'Master of Living' for the Wellington and lasagna, and one repeats hearsay that three Michelin-trained chefs opened it. These are the shop's own claims and hearsay, so we did not count them.
- Some posts say dogs are allowed, but no one wrote about actually bringing one; we treat it as copied information.
- Posts cluster in August-September 2026, many with the same search-keyword titles ('Seoul Forest restaurant Western/pasta'), and several repeat the name explanation and an identical list of four nearby car parks word for word. One post discloses sponsorship, one says the writer paid, and the rest say nothing. Posts about the Anguk branch, a hanok with a different menu, were excluded.
