Kkanbu Chicken Seongsu Galleria Foret is a fried-chicken house on the ground floor of the Galleria Foret retail arcade, facing Seoul Forest across the road. It is one branch of a national chain and opened in January 2021. What distinguishes it is the outdoor seating: six or seven tables looking at the park, which fill first on a good day with people breaking off a walk for cold beer and chicken. Dogs on leads are allowed at those outside tables. It opens at 11:30 every day and closes at 23:00, last orders at ten — unusual for the chain, whose branches typically open in the afternoon. The menu runs to plain fried, the "crispy six-pack" and a crispy boneless, with whelks and tteokbokki to drink alongside. We read posts from January 2021 to September 2026, the longest span of any place we have read.

  **The price has gone up**: 18,000 won in a 2022 post (plus 1,000 for half sauced), 21,000 in two posts from 2026. Three of the four who ordered it praise the batter — thin, crisp, the meat tender — and one prefers it on the bone to boneless. **The dissenter compares branches**: the original in Yongin has queues for a reason, she writes, and one bite here told her why this branch does not. One writer calls it the right size for two or three.

  **12,000 won in 2022, 13,000 in 2026.** Two writers who ate in recommend it alongside the chicken. **The one who took it away raises two things**: despite the name there was little broth, just fish cake and rice cake cooked together in an ordinary sauce — and it came in a thin plastic bag so hot she thought it would melt. She counts three shapes of rice cake.

  **Bone-in and boneless are priced differently**: 18,000 won for wings and drums, 22,000 for boneless. **The two who ate it disagree flatly** — one found it crisp in a way delivery never is, the other found the batter soggy compared with other branches. The boneless order also disappointed on the cut: tenders of breast meat rather than thigh, ten pieces for 22,000 won. One post records the bone-in crispy **sold out at eight in the evening.**

  **Named as the house special in three posts.** One of the two who ordered it added spring onion for 3,000 won; the other found the boneless chicken slightly spicy for her children and swapped, leaving them the six-pack — worth knowing if you are feeding a child. Two more writers say they will order it next time.

  **It comes without asking.** Both writers who mention it are glad of it — a palate-cleanser that lets you keep eating chicken, crunchy and sharp. **One thinks a refill costs about 2,000 won** but is not sure. Two posts list what else arrives unasked: macaroni crisps, pickled radish, jalapeños and a choice of sauces.

  **It arrives over a bed of chips.** The writer who took it home found the chips thin and salty rather than hot, and was blunt about the quantity: **ten pieces for 17,000 won, not filling the small box halfway, not even a portion for one.** Reheated in an air fryer the chips overcooked into crisps, which she preferred to soggy. One account.

  **Heavily dusted with curry powder** — the one writer who ordered it likens it to the sweet-dusted chicken other chains sell, crisper and curried, and admits she is a plain-fried partisan. **Her advice: if you do not want a chicken that eats like a snack, order the six-pack or the crispy instead.**

  **It costs more than the chicken.** The one writer who ordered it loves the dish and talked her friends into it — sweet-sour, generous whelks — but says plainly that at 21,000 won, dearer than a whole chicken, she cannot order it often. She recommends it against the richness of the fried chicken.

Parking is in the Galleria Foret basement. The "two hours free" line appears in several posts and is copied from the listing, so we do not count it. One writer actually parked, and gives the condition she met: two hours on a spend of 30,000 won or more, which she hit with a gift voucher. Another says two hours free on production of a receipt; a third writes "two hours free — ask first". The posts do not agree on what you have to spend. A fourth, who did not visit, warns that parking is tight because the building is mostly flats.

Getting inside

Not one of the fifteen says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets in. The words wheelchair, ramp and threshold appear nowhere. Two writers came with children and one wheeled a dog buggy, and none of the three describes getting in — the one with the buggy sat outside. All we know is that the shop is on the ground floor of the arcade with its outdoor tables at street level. This is "nobody wrote it down", not "you cannot get in".

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

When the posts appeared

What we do not know

• Fifteen of the thirty posts are behind nothing on this page, and the reason is the address. Seoul Forest 2-gil 32-14 covers the whole Galleria Foret arcade, so posts about a wedding hall, a Chinese restaurant, a doughnut shop and a beef house in the same building arrived under our name. Seven never say the word Kkanbu at all. Four use us as a landmark: three wedding-guest write-ups locate the cash machine "between Kkanbu Chicken and the information desk", and a picnic diary gives "in front of Kkanbu Chicken" as the spot to meet a delivery rider — carrying another chain's chicken. Of the nineteen that remain, four are not accounts of a visit: one is the company's own blog announcing the 2021 opening, two reproduce the brand's marketing paragraph word for word between them, and one works up Naver's own aggregate — a 4.38 rating, 885 reviews. Every count here is out of fifteen.
• The queue is for the terrace. One writer actually stood in it, and what she found out may be the most useful line on this page: she was waiting outside when she noticed free tables indoors, asked, and was told the queue is for the outdoor seats only — you can walk straight in for an indoor one. No sign says so, and she watched people who would have been happy inside keep waiting. Four more writers were sent indoors because the terrace was full, and none of them waited. One, unimpressed by the food, says she understands why nobody queues. Two mention weekend waits without having waited.
• This is not the branch where Jensen Huang ate. Two posts were written in the wake of the much-publicised meal between the Nvidia chief and the heads of Samsung and Hyundai, and one of them says so outright: that meeting was at the Samseong-dong branch. She came anyway, to order what they ordered. The other hangs his name in the title and records no meal, so it is not in our count. If you see the story attached to this address, that parenthesis is the correction.
• Five posts call something here expensive, which makes this a rare place where dear outnumbers cheap: the whelk noodles at 21,000 won, dearer than a whole chicken; a can of cola at 3,500 ("that crosses a line"); soju at 6,000 and bottled beer at 7,000; the cheese sticks steep for a side; ten wing pieces for 17,000. Nobody calls it good value. Prices have in fact risen — fried chicken from 18,000 won in 2022 to 21,000 in 2026, the tteokbokki from 12,000 to 13,000 — and a soft drink adds 3,500 a head.
• Three writers say the portions are small and none says they are generous. A 2022 post wonders whether the plate is just large; the takeaway order came to ten wing pieces for 17,000 won, not a portion for one; a third finishes hers in a gulp and asks whether Kkanbu portions are always this small. One writer comes out the other way: less than she remembered, yes, but enough once she was eating — she would have wasted a side had she ordered one. One post calls a whole fried chicken right for two or three.
• On a busy holiday opening, the food can take a long time. Two posts report a wait, and one is in another league: a writer who came for a Seoul Forest event on a public holiday walked in at eleven to find the room already full half an hour before opening, was told by an older woman — the owner, she thinks — that orders start at 11:30, and got her chicken about two hours later. She watched the floor staff struggle and joked about being hired for the shift. Another waited over her coleslaw one evening. A third was pleased that her chicken and tteokbokki arrived together.
• Whether you can take food away is disputed, and the two accounts are four years apart. In 2022 a writer rang ahead, parked underneath and carried out wings and tteokbokki. In September 2026 another was told flatly that they do not do takeaway and ate in instead. The listing still says takeaway is available, but that is the copied line we do not count. Whether the policy changed or it was a one-evening thing we could not establish — ring first. Delivery was advertised from the day the branch opened.
• The posts we read span five years — from the opening announcement in January 2021 to September 2026, the longest run of any place here. That makes both the price rises and the shifting verdicts visible: fried chicken from 18,000 to 21,000 won, tteokbokki from 12,000 to 13,000, takeaway from "I rang ahead and collected" in 2022 to "they told me they don't" in 2026. The opinions move the same way: the 2022 post praises the batter, while posts from 2025 and 2026 find it soggier than other branches, wonder why they bothered, and ask where the original's cooking went. Fifteen people, and we cannot verify what changed in between. No post declares a sponsorship; one states that she paid her own way.
• Not one post mentions the toilets. Whether they are in the restaurant, or out in the arcade, or on another floor, we do not know. It would be worth knowing at a place where so many people sit outside, and none of the fifteen says. Posts about other businesses in the same building do describe the building's facilities, but those are not about this restaurant and we have not counted them.
• It is on the ground floor of the arcade, though only one writer says so in her own words — unit 104 in building 101, according to the company's own opening announcement. The others copy the address. Nobody records a step, whether you enter through the arcade, or how you get from the outdoor tables inside. Nor does anyone describe the way up from the basement car park: the one writer who parked there collected a takeaway and left.
