Ginger Grandpa is a cafe-bar on the ground floor of a red-brick house at Seongsu-il-ro 95-1, in the quieter north part of Seongsu between Ttukseom and Seongsu stations. From 5 pm it serves six signature cocktails (16,000-18,000 won) plus classics, whisky and wine, with cheese plates, grilled pork jowl, pudding and ice cream. Across the 27 posts that visited, the most-ordered items were Bronte Beach (13), Bitter Rose and the baked brie with crackers (11 each). Couples ordering two signatures and one plate report bills of 45,000-51,000 won. Cocktail and food prices have risen 1,000-3,000 won since it opened in July 2025. We read 30 posts from June 2025 to October 2026; 27 describe a visit, most of them written after July 2026, and two disclose sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Pretzels arrive free as soon as you sit down; 21 posts mention them. One describes two kinds, mini pretzels and garlic-butter ones; two posts asked for and got a second bowl, and one wanted to but was too shy to ask.
- Thirteen posts call it quiet. Several mid-2026 posts, however, repeat the same lines in the same order - a quiet bar near Seongsu, Ttukseom and Seoul Forest, good for friends, dates, company dinners and wedding-invitation get-togethers - which reads like a shared brief. First-hand details are fewer: two posts mention Line 2 trains passing overhead, and one late-August visitor found it busy.
- It is not bar-only: seven posts describe bar stools alongside tables and sofa seating. Counts differ - one post says six or seven tables and about six bar seats, another about seven two-person tables and four bar seats. One mentions a group table for up to ten.
- There is a single outdoor seat. Three posts mention it - 'the one and only outdoor bench', 'one outdoor table'.
6 more
- No post reports waiting. One walked in at 8 pm on a Saturday with two other groups inside and five by 9:10; another got in on a weekend night without a wait. One found every table but one taken at about 7 pm, another saw it fill up as they left. One notes chairs outside the door for a short wait.
- Five posts walked there; one took seven or eight minutes from Ttukseom station, another says the bus stop is four minutes away.
- Four posts call the owner or staff kind: one got a free custard pudding after giving up their table to a group of five, another got pudding for eating heartily, and one notes the owner quickly relit candles that went out.
- Three posts received ice cream or pudding through the receipt-review event.
- Two posts say that after 5 pm each person must order at least one alcoholic drink. A two-hour limit when full appears only as 'may apply' in one post; other mentions were copied notices and are not counted.
- Seven posts went with friends, six with a partner or spouse and one with a mother. In one, a friend who was driving had the Bitter Rose made without alcohol.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 5 of 27 posts |
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 3 (of 27 posts read) |
Only one post describes the floor from experience - the ground floor of the red-brick house; another describes it as a detached gabled building.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means unknown, not absent.
Five posts say the restroom is inside the bar; three of them note it is shared by men and women. Three call it clean, one mentioning hand soap.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Seven posts say it runs as a coffee shop by day, but none of them actually had coffee there; every visit we read was an evening drinking visit.
- Three posts say dogs are welcome, citing a sign at the door, but none brought one.
- Three posts copy a no-kids notice; no one went with children, so nobody confirms it first-hand.
- Of 21 posts since July 2026, 15 give weekdays noon to midnight (break 3-5 pm), weekends 5 pm to midnight, last order 11 pm; three say noon to midnight daily. Two July 2025 posts said noon to midnight daily and a November 2025 post said closed Sundays, so the hours appear to have changed. September 2026 posts list Chuseok and other temporary closures. Most of this is copied from listings - check before going.
- Prices have gone up. July 2025 posts list Melting Snowman, Bronte Beach and Unknown at 15,000 won, baked brie at 18,000 and honey ricotta at 10,000; 2026 posts list them at 16,000, 16,000, 18,000, 19,000 and 12,000. Two posts call the prices fair; none calls it expensive.
- Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1303-0723. Four copy a note that Naver booking is available, but nobody reports booking ahead.
- Posts cluster after July 2026 and several share identical phrasing in the same order. Two disclose sponsorship and two show receipts as proof of paying. Praise for the mood is plentiful; we counted only passages describing what people actually experienced.
