It has the high ceiling of a converted works, full-height windows, a great many plants, and a small garden planted into the long communal table. Rice bowls topped with raw fish, an outsized futomaki, and pasta all share one menu. Open 11:30 to 9pm Monday to Saturday, closing at 8:30 on Sundays. It opened in 2021 and has a second branch in Yongsan. We read twenty-six posts, January to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The ceiling is the first thing people notice. Twenty-four of the twenty-six posts call it roomy, and thirteen of those single out the height keeping it from feeling closed in. Six describe the surprise of arriving — doubting there could be a restaurant down this lane, and then there it is. Five say the tables are far apart and twelve call it quiet. Only one writes that the spacing is not especially generous.
  2. The toilets are separate for men and women, and well stocked. Six posts mention what is laid out: mouthwash (five), hand cream (two), hand wash, room spray, even fabric deodoriser. One writer says it lets you put yourself back together before returning to a blind date. One notes the basin is shared between them, and one that the path to the toilets is laid with stones like a garden.
  3. Leave a review and a plate of marinated tomato arrives. Five writers took it. They call it three different things, but it looks like one dish. Two describe a sauce of olive and honey ground together over it. One expected plum and got tomato. Worth knowing before you read the rest — five of these writers were given a dish in exchange for the review.
  4. One post says it is fine to eat here alone. A writer who came for the eel bowl reports that nobody made them feel odd about it. The same person calls the price genuinely high but says the thickness of the eel and the size of the omelette justified it — and suggests that two people would do better to share one and add a pasta.
  5. It suits a group. You can sit side by side at the long central table; one post gives the private table as four to eight people, another says the room can be hired. Five recommend it for the dinner Koreans hold to hand out wedding invitations. Two note a stool or shelf behind each chair for bags. Three say you may bring a bottle, for a fee.

The most ordered dish is futomaki (후토마끼) — 10 of 26 posts.

One post states that the place is wheelchair accessible. No other post mentions a threshold, a ramp or a step, and none mentions stairs. It is at street level with a garden in front, which the photographs bear out. One writer, once, is not enough for us to tell you it is accessible — but it is the only account we have, so here it is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The queue works unusually — there is nowhere to put your name. Four posts say the same thing: no list and no call, you sit down outside and go in in order. There are seats by the door, and one writer notes a roof over them, which made waiting for opening in the rain bearable. Two others say you can join the queue through Catch Table, so both systems may run. What is certain is booking — Naver and Catch Table both take it, and nine writers used one of them.
  • There is no printed menu. You read it from a QR code at the table — eight posts say so. One found the phone screen a nuisance: too small, endless scrolling, a paper menu would have been easier. Another took the opposite view, that the ordering screen is good enough to bring a foreign friend to. No post says what languages it offers. Two note that each dish comes with a photograph.
  • One writer had trouble with the rice. Wanting to eat the sashimi as sushi, they asked for vinegared rice and were brought plain, then got the vinegared rice on a second try. They were told to eat the first bowl anyway, and found it dry and smelling as though it had been cooked the day before — they did not touch it. The vinegared rice, they add, was fine. One voice among twenty-five that praise the food, and easy to lose, so we set it down.
  • Two posts say the aburi salmon bowl is heavy on rice — too much for the salmon, the ratio slightly off. Two strangers, four months apart, wrote the same sentence. One writer found the futomaki a touch underseasoned. And one notes that the portions are not enormous: two women ordered three dishes and finished comfortably full.
  • One price has risen. The hormone bowl was ₩15,900 in a January 2026 post and ₩16,900 in four posts from August and September. Nothing else moved across the nine months we read: futomaki ₩17,900, kaisen-don ₩28,900, the pastas ₩23,000–24,000, the sashimi plate ₩36,000, the eel bowl ₩35,000.
  • There is no car park. Nine posts say so and five send you to a public lot — one names the Ttukseom retention basin, within a ten-minute walk, another the district sports centre. One writer advises taking the subway or at least a taxi in this part of town; another simply says parking here is dear. The station makes up for it — ten posts put it at 239 metres, four to six minutes' walk from Ttukseom exit 1.
  • There are several restaurants with this name. Two posts mention a Yongsan branch; one came wondering whether it is related to Jinjak in Euljiro; one guesses it belongs with Jinjak Kaki in Anguk. One writer typed the branch name wrong altogether. All twenty-six posts we read carry the same Seongsu address. One notes a television appearance on 7 February 2022.
  • Not one post mentions a step. In twenty-six posts the words for stairs, upstairs and basement do not appear. The licence gives the ground floor, and the photographs show a path through the garden and straight in from the lane. One writer states that the place is wheelchair accessible — one voice is not enough for us to tell you so, but it is worth recording that nobody describes a step either.
