JINDOKEN

진도켄 성수점 Jindoken Seongsu-jeom Jindoken reads as Japanese for the Jindo dog, Korea's native breed — the sign carries a Jindo-dog silhouette and dog figurines sit around the room.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jindoken Seongsu is a Japanese izakaya on the second floor above a barbecue restaurant on Wangsimni-ro 4ga-gil, near exit 7 of Ttukseom station. It opens in the evening for aged sashimi, mackerel bo-zushi, charcoal-grilled dishes and cream jjamppong, with draft beer, highballs and sake. Posts list the assorted sashimi at 35,000 won, the mackerel bo-zushi at 24,000, the cream jjamppong at 26,000, abalone-liver pasta at 23,000 and a Kirin draft at 8,000. We read 30 posts dated 7 July to 4 October 2026; 21 of them (15 August to 4 October) describe an actual meal there. The other nine are multi-venue lists, guide-style write-ups, or a second post about the same visit written as a wine review.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The counter seats face an open kitchen. Twelve posts mention watching the cooks from the counter, including fish being seared over burning straw and flames leaping from the jjamppong pan. Fifteen posts say there are both counter seats and tables. One post quotes the booking page warning that parties of two may be seated at the counter.
  2. Fourteen posts say a small dish of cabbage topped with bonito flakes arrives when you sit down. Descriptions vary between blanched, stir-fried and dressed; one notes the sauce is salty enough to divide people. Another asked for a second helping that never came.
  3. Nine posts ordered through a QR code on the table; one says there is no paper menu at all, and another used the QR page to call staff too. One mentions hand-written recommendations stuck on the tissue box.
  4. It fills up from around 6:30 pm. Four posts saw people queuing, two of them on weekday evenings. Several arrived at the 5 pm opening or around 5:30–6 and watched it fill by 6:30. Six posts booked ahead through Naver or Catchtable; one of them walked straight in thanks to the booking but did not say whether others were waiting.
8 more
  1. There is a two-and-a-half-hour limit when the room is full; one post had to leave before ordering more because of it. Another post copies the same limit from the house notice.
  2. Four posts say dishes come out slowly — advising you to order ahead and start with a beer while you wait.
  3. The mackerel bo-zushi is big. Six posts mention thick-cut fish, one calling a piece nearly fist-sized and too large for one bite. One post felt the opposite — so much rice it spilled out the sides. Thirteen posts ordered it.
  4. Six posts say the cream jjamppong does not taste heavy, crediting green chili and chili oil. It comes on a burner with cooked noodles on the side to add a little at a time. Six posts found something spicy; one found the Sichuan karaage not spicy at all.
  5. Four posts call it good value — one points out that a similar sashimi platter usually tops 40,000 won in Seongsu, another the 18,000-won single-person sashimi. One found it on the pricey side but justified. Two posts gave a total bill: 94,000 won for sashimi, abalone pasta, two drafts and corkage; 62,000 won for the bo-zushi, grilled roe, two drafts and a soju. There is a promotional set that changes monthly.
  6. Five posts mention a Naver receipt-review offer: two glasses of sake, ice cream or mochi tofu. The ice cream comes with olive oil, salt and pepper; one writer found clumps of salt that made it hard to eat.
  7. Seven posts came as a couple, five with friends, and two in groups of three or four. Nobody wrote about going alone — several said it looked fine for solo drinking, but none tried it.
  8. Corkage is allowed. One post brought a convenience-store wine, paid 20,000 won, and got glasses and an ice bucket. The 20,000-won rate for wine or sake and 30,000 for whisky or shochu comes from copied notices.

Getting inside

Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 21 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 21 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 21 posts read)

It is up a flight of stairs on the second floor: ten posts describe climbing to the second floor, and none mention a basement. One says outright there is no lift. The sign is small, so several posts suggest looking for the ground-floor barbecue place or rice-cake mill instead. The entrance is an opaque automatic door that people likened to a secret door. One post alone says 'third floor'.

Nobody wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. Four posts climbed stairs and one says there is no lift, so access looks difficult, but no one said so directly.

Only two posts mention the toilet: one says it is inside the restaurant, the other that it is unisex and clean, finished in marble tile.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-09-083 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Five posts describe walking from the station: about five minutes from Ttukseom or Seoul Forest station. One wrote 'Seongsu station exit 7', which looks like a slip for Ttukseom exit 7.
  • Twelve posts give opening hours of 5 pm to 1 am and twelve say it is closed on Mondays, mostly copied from the listing. One says 'daily', and two give 11 am or 1 am as the opening time, which look like typos.
  • Two phone numbers appear: five first-hand posts give 0507-1482-5611 and two give 070-8835-5609. Copied booking notes say Naver and Catchtable take parties of two to four, larger groups by phone.
  • The sashimi platter has changed: one post recalls eleven kinds, two slices each, and notes it now seems to be seven kinds, three each — which is what every post from August 2026 describes, at 35,000 won. Another says the selection shifts with the seasons.
  • Most posts cluster in September–October 2026 and share a similar shape — 'Seongsu bar / Ttukseom eats' titles and long hashtag tails. None disclose sponsorship; three say they paid their own way. We set aside one post that names no dish at all and one written as a generic guide.
