Ieung
이응 Ieung is the name of the Korean letter ㅇ, the round consonant.
Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →
Ieung is a Korean place in a side street between Ttukseom and Seoul Forest stations (Wangsimni-ro 6-gil 16, ground floor). At lunch it is a pork-soup house serving dwaeji-gukbap and chashu rice bowls; in the evening it becomes a tavern with savory pancakes, makgeolli and traditional liquors. A meal runs a little over 10,000 won: posts give 10,000-10,500 won for the pork soup, 11,000-11,500 won for the chashu bowl and 11,000 won for the noodle soup. We read 30 posts dated June 30 to October 4, 2026; 23 of them record an actual meal. Five were set aside as other businesses (including the Gangnam branch) or unrelated uses of the word.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Portion size comes up more than anything else: nine posts call the portions large, and none call them small. One said of the chashu bowl that you have to dig to find the rice; a regular wrote that she always leaves some. Several posts note that with one meal ordered per person you can help yourself to more rice from the cooker by the entrance.
- Eight posts say the pork and broth had no gamey smell, including one writer who said she is sensitive to it. No post reported an off smell.
- Seven posts ordered at the table by QR code, tablet or kiosk; one notes you pay up front on the screen. Side dishes (radish kimchi and pickled mustard greens) are self-serve from crocks on the table or a self-service bar.
- Near the door there are solo counter seats and window seats, and five posts point out more tables further in; one was surprised to find four- and six-person tables behind the counter. Three posts record eating alone.
3 more
- Five posts that ordered a pancake describe it as crisp; one said the kimchi pancake was crisp across the whole surface, not just the rim.
- Six posts are from repeat visitors, one on her sixth or seventh visit and another on her fourth; one goes regularly for team dinners.
- Six posts mention a free ice cream for writing a review: five for a Naver review, one for a Google Maps review.

Parking
1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Parking is unclear. Copied listing info says parking is available, but one post says the shop has no parking of its own and points to nearby public lots, and another says the alley is very narrow and the space tiny.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
3 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 21 posts |
|---|
The address says ground floor, but no post describes the floor from experience. One post mentions climbing stairs to the door; nothing else corroborates it, so we did not count it.
No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we don't know, not that there is no access.
Only one post mentions the restroom, saying it is inside the shop. Separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in copied listing info; no one described them.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Three posts mention an outdoor terrace seat; one says there is only a single table, and another thought the outdoor table was not in use.
- On heat the posts split two to two, by dish: two found the spicy pork soup hot, while two found the spicy noodle soup and the spicy cream udon only mild.
- Prices differ slightly between posts: the pork soup is 10,500 won in a post from an April 2026 visit and 10,000 won in a September post; the chashu bowl is 11,500 won in April and 11,000 won in August. Since the later posts are cheaper, we can't tell whether the price changed or was mistyped. Two posts call the prices reasonable; a recurring stock phrase about low prices and high quality appears in templated posts and we did not count it.
- Five posts repeat the same stock lines about low prices and an unforgettable pork soup. None discloses sponsorship, but they read like commissioned copy, so we did not rely on those lines. One more post carries a review-program tag, and three say they paid their own way.
- No post mentions waiting for a table here, which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. Two posts say the food came quickly, one within about ten minutes.
- Apart from three solo visits, friends, a partner and a work group each appear in only one post, so we can't say much about who it suits.
- Thirteen posts give opening hours, all copied from listings. Most say weekdays 11:00-23:00 (last order 22:15) and weekends 11:30-16:00 (last order 15:15); two give an 11:00 weekend opening, and one lists the short hours for Sunday only. No post mentions a closing day.
- Seven posts copy the phone number 0507-1444-0739. No one wrote about making a reservation, so beyond copied listing info we don't know whether bookings are taken.
- Three posts say it is close to Ttukseom Station, one putting it under five minutes' walk from exit 7. That it is also near Seoul Forest Station exit 1 appears only in location notes.
