Hwaro Yangmi

화로양미 Hwaro is a charcoal brazier and yang means lamb (mi most likely 'taste') — every table here gets a charcoal brazier for chilled lamb.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

A charcoal-grill lamb house at Sangwon 4-gil 9 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, a short walk from exit 4 of Ttukseom station. Each table gets a charcoal brazier for chilled lamb, and 22 posts say staff did the grilling. Skewers are listed at 17,000 won for 200 g and the mixed platter at 55,000 won for 500 g; many diners added Chinese dishes such as guobaorou, fish-fragrant aubergine or malatang. At lunch there is a 9,000-won Chinese buffet, which three posts ate. We read 30 posts dated 8 May to 26 September 2026, and all 30 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff grill at the table: 22 of 30 posts say an employee or the owner cooked for them, some adding that cuts were explained and plated one by one. Two posts say otherwise — one from 22 July had to keep turning the meat so it would not burn, and one from 18 August describes grilling it themselves. Even a 16 September post that was served this way grilled its extra skewers alone because the staff looked busy.
  2. There is no automatic skewer rotisserie: ten posts note that skewers are turned by hand over charcoal instead. Skewer counts differ — eight per portion in a 17 September post, two rounds of ten for two portions in an 18 August post.
  3. 21 posts say the lamb had no off smell. One differs: a 17 September post found the lamb flavour pronounced. A 20 September post noticed a faint lamb aroma but no gaminess. The claim that the lamb is chilled Australian meat was repeated from the staff, so we did not count it.
  4. Seven posts mention a machine by the entrance and till that sells wine by the glass. Three mention a phone charger and fabric deodoriser at the door.

  1. Two posts say grilled meats come with a two-portion minimum; the 8 May post adds that the mixed platter is exempt, and the 25 June post met it with one portion each of rack and skewers.

Posts saying you can park7 of 29 posts

There is parking in front: seven posts say so, two of them putting it at three or four cars. Five posts were unsure — one from 20 September called it tight and suggested phoning ahead, and one from 24 July drove but used a nearby paid lot. Two posts say they came by car.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 3 (of 29 posts read)
Separate restrooms3 of 29 posts

No post says which floor the restaurant is on or mentions stairs. The address says ground floor, but nobody described it.

No post describes a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair. One post's info box says strollers can get in, but that was copied, not observed. This means nobody wrote about it, not that access is poor.

The toilets are outside the dining room. All three posts that say where agree: out the door to the left behind a keypad code (26 September), in the building next door (18 July), outside the shop (17 August). Three posts say they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Five posts describe walking from the station. Most give three to five minutes from Ttukseom; one post from 20 September says about ten.
  • Nobody reports queuing. Two posts walked straight in, on a Sunday around 8 pm and at about 6 pm. A post that arrived at 4:40 pm on a weekday saw the room filling by 6:30. Six posts booked through Naver beforehand.
  • Company: four posts came with family, three with a partner, three with friends. One brought a 17-month-old, and one spotted a high chair. The rest do not say who they came with.
  • Opening hours: 21 posts give 10:30–22:30 daily and one gives the same for Monday, but nearly all copied an info box. No post mentions a break or last order, and nobody says when the lunch buffet starts or ends.
  • Prices: seven posts give 17,000 won for 200 g of skewers and one from 22 July gives 16,000; a post two days later still says 17,000, so we do not treat it as a change. Six posts give 55,000 won for the 500 g platter. A couple who had two portions of skewers (34,000 won) and cola on 18 August called it reasonable; five posts say it is good value, none that it is expensive.
  • The phone number 070-7818-8886 appears in ten posts. Bookings for two to eighty people come from the shop's own listing, and the 15-day notice for a full buyout is something one post was told.
  • Some posts look written to one template: the 7 September and 26 August posts open with the same sentence about a dinner date in Seongsu and list the four sauces in the same order and wording. None of the 30 posts discloses sponsorship — which means nobody said so, not that none was paid.
