A Korean gastropub three to five minutes' walk from Ttukseom station, one lane off the main Seongsu drag. Mismatched bright retro chairs, a sticker-covered fridge, a vintage hi-fi, and DOKBO painted large across the window. Sit down and a plate of pyeonyuk — pressed sliced pork — arrives free; it is the thing people write about most, named in eighteen posts. The food is Korean ingredients worked into something else: a broccoli-and-prawn jeon, three oil pastas built on mustard-greens kimchi, perilla and salted octopus, and a spicy boneless short rib. More than a dozen traditional Korean spirits sit in the fridge, alongside gin and tonics the kitchen mixes itself. You order by QR code at the table (sixteen writers). Green tables outside make it a rare quiet spot for drinking in the open once the weather turns — two writers say as much. Book ahead: up to five people, through Naver or Catch Table.

  **A Korean drinking house with a wide traditional list.** One regular copied the whole menu out: sparkling persimmon, apple wine from Chungju, potato spirit, plum wine, a Korean plum gin, strawberry makgeolli, creamy makgeolli, yuzu, omija, premium rice soju, rice cheongju and a soju distilled in New York. **They mix their own drinks too** — two gin and tonics built on Korean herbs, a highball, and set-ups of soju with green tea or with Hallasan. **Two draughts: Cass at ₩6,000 and Okinawan Orion at ₩9,000**, and **eight writers chose the Orion**, describing the head as unusually creamy.

  **Four writers photograph the glassware** — soju glasses rather than wine glasses, slightly oversized. **The water is barley tea**, which three of them note approvingly. **Lemon slices are ₩2,000 on the side**, and one writer was struck by how many arrive.

  **The free starter here is pyeonyuk — pressed, sliced pork — and it is the single most-discussed thing about the place**, named in eighteen posts. It comes with salted shrimp or chilli-vinegar sauce, two or three slices a head. One writer challenges anyone to name another bar that gives it away; another had never seen a place absorb that cost as a freebie; a third thinks it good enough to sell as a main. **Two writers who normally avoid pyeonyuk finished it**, finding no off-smell at all.

  **Refills are charged** — ₩7,000 by one account, "available as a paid extra" in two more, and one writer was told plainly that it does not come free twice. **When the supplier is away, something else appears**: a regular found sugared tomato in its place one visit, the pork supplier being on holiday.

  **Three oil pastas built on Korean ingredients, ₩21,000 each; fifteen writers ordered at least one.** **Mustard-greens kimchi with brisket** is the one most often named a favourite — the kimchi's sharpness cuts the fat of the beef. **Perilla with myeongnan roe and gosari fern** wins the same writer's heart and comes with a warning: the fern is assertive, and one regular tells people who dislike it to order something else. **Salted octopus** arrives under a soft egg yolk, and **four writers were told to break it and mix** — the salt of the jeotgal needs it.

  **The octopus divides people on salt**: one calls the seasoning powerfully savoury, while another found it too salty for her and watched the men at her table make it their clear favourite. **Two tables ordered all three side by side, and both picked the mustard-greens kimchi.**

  **It is a drinking house that serves proper rice and soup, and you can make a meal of it.** The **bibimbap** (₩12,000) arrives with radish, courgette, fern, carrot, laver and fried kimchi, and one writer says the price explains itself. The **gochujang and courgette stew** (₩22,000) is described as a mother's stew, hangover cure and drinking food at once. The **clam and seafood kalguksu** (₩22,000) beats dedicated noodle shops, per one writer, and comes in a jar-shaped pot that keeps it hot. The **red fishcake** (₩21,000) brings six skewers with bean sprouts and two eggs in a broth nothing like the usual. Then the retro sides: **dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets** (₩12,000), **old-style street toast** (₩8,000) and **sugared tomato** (₩7,000).

  **Sides can only be ordered after a main** (per the September 2026 menu). Prices are from that menu; **the toast is listed at ₩8,000 in one post and ₩9,000 in another.** **People tend to finish on carbohydrates** — one table ordered two toasts to stop themselves fighting over one. **Leave a Naver review and they cook you a bowl of ramyeon.**

  **The most-ordered and most-praised plate here** — twelve ordered it and not one had a complaint. Broccoli and prawn, both chopped fine, fried as a Korean jeon and served with a sriracha-mayo sauce. One writer puts it in her top three jeon ever; another says order it without discussion; a third says she will come back for this alone. **Four writers who dislike broccoli ate it happily**, one noting you cannot really taste the broccoli.

  **Five writers say the sauce is half the dish**, cutting the richness so you can finish it. **What they agree on is that it does not cloy** — one notes that she usually stops after a piece or two of any jeon and did not here, and credits the chilli worked through the middle.

• 삼겹살 구이와 미나리 무침9 ate it

  **Pork belly comes already grilled, over dressed minari and charred spring onion**, ordered by nine. **Three writers were told to eat the onion with it.** They describe the belly as crisp outside and juicy within, with the sharp minari cutting the fat. **One preferred the onion to the minari**, calling it surprisingly sweet.

  **One writer ordered it because reviews made it look small, and reports the photographs are misleading** — there is plenty. **Two praise the meat itself**, one noting it did not toughen as it cooled.

• 매운 순살 소갈비찜4 ate it

  **The most expensive dish, and the one regulars name first.** Boneless short rib in an earthenware pot with carrot, mushroom, radish and rice cake. Writers call it the thing to order, spoon up the sauce on its own, and describe the meat falling apart. **One singles out the rice cake**, rating its texture above most tteokbokki shops and wishing she could order extra.

  **It sells out.** Two writers missed it, one of them twice, and one arrived on a friend's insistence only to find it gone. **Some order something sweet alongside** — one paired it with the old-style toast precisely to temper the heat.

Getting inside

Nobody writes about wheelchair or pushchair access. Not one of the twenty-four mentions a ramp or a threshold. Several do establish that it is on the ground floor, glass-fronted, entered straight from the lane, and one who sat outside notes the ground there slopes slightly — that is the outdoor area, not the door. Whether there is a step, and how much room there is inside, we do not know. Call 0507-1366-5604.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

When the posts appeared

What we do not know

• The hours change with the day, and we do not know when it closes. Eleven writers give 18:00–24:00 Monday to Thursday and 17:00–24:00 Friday and Saturday, and four add 18:00–23:00 on Sunday — so Friday, a weekday, opens an hour early like the weekend. But the closing day differs from post to post: Sunday, Monday, both — while four others quote Sunday opening hours. We therefore put no closing day in the table at all, since picking one would be pretending to know. The sponsored post puts it best: it is often shut on Sundays and Mondays, so check before you go. Call 0507-1366-5604 or look at @dokbo_seongsu. Bookings take five people at most, through Naver or Catch Table, per two writers. If others are waiting, your table is limited to three hours. That said, not one writer reports actually queueing — almost all twenty-four booked. Several did see the room full. Things sell out. Two writers missed the spicy short rib and the bibimbap, one of them having come on a friend's insistence. Even the free pyeonyuk was replaced by sugared tomato one night, the supplier being away. One of the posts is sponsored. It says so at the top, in its own words: a paid review. Declared, so nothing is hidden — but its praise should not carry the same weight as the other twenty-three. Four posts declare they paid their own way. The toilet is not inside the room — one writer places it on the second floor of the building and shared. Nobody else mentions it.
• Almost nobody writes about floors. The address is the ground floor and the posts say no more. Exactly one mentions an upstairs, and only because of the toilet — which she places on the second floor and shared. So the bar appears to be a single ground-floor room with the toilet above, but that one line is all we have. One writer counts four tables for four or five, plus the counter.
• Not one writer reports having queued — almost all of them booked. Several relay that there is a wait, or advise booking to avoid one, but nobody records the experience. What we do know: if people are waiting, your table is capped at three hours (two writers), there are bright waiting chairs set out front (four), and walk-ins take whatever is free at the counter or outside (one). Several did see the room fill: one arrived to a quiet house and left a full one. Read it as a place where the booking slots go before any line forms — up to five people, through Naver or Catch Table.
