Daeheung Jeongyuk Sikdang is a beef restaurant on the ground floor of the Trimage apartment arcade, 518 metres from exit 2 of Seoul Forest station. There is one dish: a mixed plate, 160g a head, of sirloin, chuck flap, brisket, hanger and skirt — the mix depends on what was butchered that day. Korean beef and Australian wagyu together, with a butcher's case in the room where you can watch the trimming. The only sides are fried rice and a bowl of rice; there is no pork and no cold noodles. What there is instead is kimchi, which is half this restaurant's reputation — the aged cabbage and spring-onion kimchi are said to be grown and salted by the family, and seven of the twenty-two who mention them asked for more. The price went from ₩30,000 to ₩35,000 a head in the second half of 2025. Open Monday to Saturday, 11:00–22:00, with a break from 14:00 to 16:00; closed Sundays.   **This is the whole menu.** 160g a portion; **the price went from ₩30,000 to ₩35,000 in the second half of 2025.** Korean beef and Australian wagyu together, and **which cuts you get depends on what was butchered that day.** No pork at all.

  Twenty-five ate it and not one complains about the beef. The words that recur are that it melts (five) and the marbling or the colour of it (six). **A piece of fat and some onion go on the plate first to grease it** — eight posts describe this, one calling it a kindness. Three note being shown how to cook it; one passes on the tip that the thin cuts come off the moment the blood rises. Four mention the butcher's case in the room and watching the meat being trimmed. One was told by the owner that the beef was particularly good that day because the animal had been slaughtered the previous Thursday after a holiday — **which also means it is not the same every day.**

  **The kimchi gets talked about as much as the beef**: aged cabbage kimchi, fresh cabbage kimchi and spring-onion kimchi, with shredded onion, radish water kimchi, cucumber kimchi, garlic and chilli alongside, and a bowl of soybean or dried-radish-leaf soup. No cold noodles. Nothing extra to pay.

  Twenty-two posts mention it and only two find fault (one with the radish water kimchi, one with a soup that arrived cold). **Seven asked for more**: three plates of cabbage kimchi and two of spring onion; two bowls of each; four helpings of the onion salad alone. Three were told the vegetables are grown by the family — by the owner's mother, in one account. Four recommend putting the kimchi on the grill.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking exists, which is rare in Seongsu, but you cannot simply drive in. Two writers explain: the arcade barrier does not open by itself, so you ring the restaurant (May 2024); or you tell the apartment gate you are going to the arcade, and if you have called ahead the staff raise the barrier for you (September 2024). One writer drove and reports parking in the arcade block. The other posts carry 'parking available' as a copied line, so we have not counted them — though one of those adds her own caution: it is said to be possible, but ring first. On public transport it is seven or eight minutes' walk from exit 2 of Seoul Forest station, with a bus stop directly outside.

Getting inside

It is on the ground floor of an apartment arcade, and no post mentions stairs. More than twenty place it there, and one describes a glass frontage on the main road, easy to find and unhurried. But whether there is a lip at the door, how the door opens, how wide the aisles are, whether a wheelchair or a pushchair could get in — none of the twenty-six says. That is not a yes; it means we do not know. If it matters, ring 02-464-2514 first. Two families came with a baby, though neither mentions a high chair; they only report that the children ate well.

That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

• This page covers four and a half years — the longest stretch we have read anywhere. Some of what follows is a report on the place as it was, not as it is. The biggest thing that moved is the price: ₩30,000 a head holds across nine posts from April 2022 to June 2025, and from November 2025 it is ₩35,000. In between, an October 2025 post says only that the price has gone up a lot — dating the change for us. It matters that nine of the eleven posts calling it good value were written when it was ₩30,000. After the rise the wording shifts: the price is not light, says one; a once-or-twice-a-year choice, says another; a place to save up for. The same restaurant, and the argument about its price splits by date.
• It used to be near Ttukseom station. Four posts mention the move and one gives a reason: construction of an apartment complex on the old site (May 2024). The others report it at second hand — a place that traded near Ttukseom for years, moved to the Trimage arcade. Nobody says when. The oldest post we read, from January 2022, already places it here. So any review written at the old address describes a different room. One writer notes it had already been here some years by 2024.
• This is not a room you go to for quiet. Not one of the twenty-six calls it quiet. Eight describe a full house in the evening and eight came for a work dinner — so, often, did the next table. For one writer that ruined the evening: three women at the next table talked so loudly that she could not hold a conversation with her friend through an expensive meal (January 2022). Only she says so out of twenty-six — but the condition she names, two people wanting to talk, is one nobody else mentions. If that is you, come early: four writers found plenty of room at half past five.
• Not one post was written by someone eating alone. All twenty-six came with company — eight for a work dinner, seven with family. One writer notes seeing a fair number of solo diners and says you would not feel out of place, but she is describing other people; she came with someone. The meat is sold by the portion, so it should be possible — only here a portion starts at ₩35,000. What a table for one is actually like, nobody tells us.
• Not one of the twenty-six mentions a lavatory — whether it is inside the restaurant or out in the arcade corridor, whether it is split by gender, whether it is locked. These are posts that count how many extra plates of kimchi they ate. Being on the ground floor of an apartment arcade, a shared corridor lavatory is plausible — but that is our guess, and guesses do not go on the page. It is not a no; it means we do not know.
• It is at street level — not one post mentions stairs. More than twenty place it on the ground floor of the Trimage arcade; others describe a glass frontage on the main road, easy to spot, and a room that looks small from the front but runs deep. It faces the church opposite the apartment tower, so you see it from the street. Whether there is a lip at the door, and how the door opens, nobody says.
• Nobody reports queueing. Eight describe a full room in the evening, weekday or weekend — and none of the eight waited outside. One post mentions a wait at all, and only at second hand. Another simply advises going very early because there is never a table. The bottleneck here looks like the reservation book rather than the door: one writer rang a week ahead for the last awkward table, another was told six o'clock was nearly full. Come early and it is quiet — four found plenty of room around half past five. And on Sundays it does not open.
• No post declares a sponsorship and four state they paid their own way. The other twenty-two say nothing either way, and saying nothing is not the same as taking nothing. There is no batch here: twenty-six posts spread evenly over four and a half years, with no shared sentences. What stands out instead is how many people come back — a regular haunt; a fourth visit; one of the few places a family eats out, first visited two years earlier; the team's default whenever they are in Seongsu; last year and again this year; a return after seven years. Seven posts record a repeat visit. One thing we cannot count: only four posts were written after the price rose, so on the ₩35,000 version of this restaurant we have read very little.
