Anmok

안목 수비드목살구이 Anmok Sous-vide Moksal-gui Anmok puns on two readings: it is the neck cut (mok) of pork, and anmok also means an eye for something — one writer jokes that this is a place with an eye for meat. Instagram: @anmok_sousvide.

Data as of · Published ·

Anmok Sous-vide Moksal-gui is a pork grill on the ground floor of the Seoul Forest A-One Centre, five to seven minutes' walk from exits 3 and 4 of Ttukseom station. The pork neck is cooked sous-vide and then grilled for you, at your table, by a member of staff — twenty of the twenty-one posts we read say so. The cooked meat is moved to a fresh plate, and the staff talk you through the cuts as numbers one to three. Steamed egg, stir-fried beansprouts and grilled white kimchi come free. In the evening it is a grill restaurant; at lunch it is a rice place. It opened in 2024, runs 11am to 10pm on weekdays, and closes on Sundays — sixteen posts agree on that. We read twenty-one posts from June 2025 to September 2026, and every one of them describes a meal here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The staff grill it for you — twenty of twenty-one posts say so. No other thing we counted comes in this one-sided. And they say why it matters: two sisters who genuinely cannot grill meat; anyone who hates getting it wrong; the most junior person at a work dinner, who does not have to stand over the burner and therefore books this place. Five writers describe the cooked meat being moved from the burner to a fresh glass plate, and one adds that it did not go cold. Four describe the order of it — neck first, belly brought out as the neck runs down — because grilling it all at once lets it cool, or dries the surface of the raw meat.
  2. Because it is sous-vide, the grilling is short. Nineteen writers note the meat arrives part-cooked, and two spell out what that buys you: pork this thick takes so long on a burner that it burns and the smell gets into your clothes, whereas here the second stage is brief; and half-cooking it cuts the time and, more to the point, loses less of the juice. Two were told that the pink left at the centre means cooked, not raw.
  3. Nineteen writers call the staff kind, and every one of them has a specific to point to. Two were handed a lens cloth when they reached to clean their glasses; four note the disposable mouthwash by the till; four that aprons, hair ties and blankets come if you ask. One had their potato salad refilled generously because they had enjoyed it; two had more stock added to the stew and brought back to the boil when it cooked down. Six describe being walked through the cuts and the order to eat them in. And one was sent off at the till with a wish for a good day.
  4. There is a charger at every table. Nine writers mention it, and several name it as the thing they least expected — the running-low-on-battery crowd, the one who gets anxious at anything under full, the one pleased simply to charge a phone within arm's reach. One notes both iPhone and Android cables. Given that a phone left out at a grill table is a phone in the line of fire, this and the lens cloth read as the same instinct.
  5. Prices went up — and our counting dates the rise. The two-person set is 480g at ₩43,000 in five posts from July 2025 to 2 February 2026, and 540g at ₩49,000 from the post of 22 February 2026. Three weeks apart. The larger set went from 740g/₩73,000 to 840g/₩83,000, and single portions from 160g/₩15,000 to 180g/₩17,000. The portions grew too. And yet seven writers call it good value and one calls it dear — six of the seven wrote before February 2026, and the one who finds it expensive wrote in May 2026.
  6. In the evening you are better off booking. Seven writers found it full, and three of those had booked — one reckons they would otherwise have waited; another says a booking is close to mandatory on a weekday evening. One was turned away at lunch repeatedly before giving up and coming in the evening. Against that, one writer who booked found seats to spare. With only four to six tables, one party is most of the room — one writer arrived early and watched it fill while they ate.
  7. "It does not feel like a grill restaurant" is the character of this place. Twelve writers call it clean, each for a specific reason: two note there are no extractor hoods over the tables; two that the wood tables are not sticky — you can rest your elbows on them; five that the high ceiling keeps it airy. Three mention the new building, opened in 2024. But no hoods also means we do not know how the smoke and smell are handled. Three writers say their clothes did not end up smelling — which may simply be because the meat is not on the burner for long.
  8. A grill restaurant that is quiet. Four writers say so, and all four say it against the type: not the usual din, but subdued and a little upmarket; a room where you can attend to the person across from you rather than the noise. Which is why people who would never book a grill for a date make an exception here — one says grill restaurants are normally struck off the list, and this one was not. One adds that lunch is quieter and more orderly still.
  9. One wall is covered in signatures. Eight writers mention it and three name names. One lists the trades — actors, a footballer, broadcasters, comedians. One takes the wall as a promise about the food; another simply found one of the signatures funny. What we counted is that the signatures are on the wall.
  10. The toilet is not inside the restaurant. One writer sets it out exactly: out and to the left, next to the building's security desk, and the door code is on a sign inside the restaurant. Being a ground-floor unit in a light-industrial building, it appears to share the building's facilities. This is the only one of twenty-one posts to discuss the toilet; another lists separate men's and women's toilets, but that is Naver's facilities blurb, so we did not count it.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 21 posts

That you can park is one of the reasons people come. Nine writers say so, and several open with how hard parking is in Seongsu. The car park is under the Seoul Forest A-One Centre; two say it is free and two say three hours free. One notes that being in a light-industrial building means the spaces are wide. Nobody records paying.

Getting there

Map showing where Anmok is

Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1

Two posts state there is wheelchair seating, and we did not count it. Both list it among "groups, booking, wheelchair seating, high chair, corkage" — Naver's facilities blurb. Not one writer looked and said whether there is a step at the door, whether the aisles take a wheelchair, or whether the toilet can be used. And the toilet is out of the restaurant, inside the building, behind a code — we do not know what that route is like either. What we counted is that it is at street level with a high ceiling, and that the four to six tables are well spaced.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • We could barely count the lunch here. Seven posts describe the lunch menu and exactly one records eating it. The other six read it off the board and end with a promise to come back. That one writer had the sous-vide neck rice bowl and the stir-fried pork, and says the meat on the rice bowl was cut too thin. The lunch cut-off is inconsistent too: two posts put last orders at 14:00, three say lunch runs to 14:30, and twelve say the break starts at 14:30. If you are coming at lunch, come before two.
  • One line on the menu goes by three different names. The 130–150g Iberico cut is called jowl, rib and skirt in three different posts, and the set is described once as neck-plus-belly and once as neck-plus-rib. Whether the menu changed or the writers misread it we could not settle — the weight and price line up, so we kept it as one entry and recorded all three names. When ordering, go by the weight and the price rather than the name.
  • One post declares payment. Post 385 states that the writer received a fee from the restaurant but also paid for part of the meal, and wrote honestly. It is the only one of twenty-one; the other twenty say nothing about money — and saying nothing is not the same as having received nothing. The lopsidedness of the praise here (nineteen on the service, twenty on the grilling) looks to us like a description of what the restaurant actually does rather than a trace of paid posts — but what we know is that one post declared it.
