Anjeong is a Korean drinking restaurant on the second floor of a building on Wangsimni-ro 4-gil, one or two minutes' walk from exit 7 of Ttukseom station. It opened in July 2026 — everything we read was written within three months of that. The menu is built around regional dishes from around the country: a Seoul chicken hotpot, a Mungyeong mushroom-and-trotter stew, Jeju buckwheat crêpes with grilled mackerel, Tongyeong octopus with Chungmu gimbap; two writers note a map of Korea printed on it. The bar stocks only Korean drink, so even the one lager on tap is Korean, and a drink order is compulsory. It is a small room — five tables of four — and children are not admitted. It opens at 6pm and closes at midnight, an hour earlier on Fridays and Saturdays. We read twenty-one posts from July to September 2026, and removed six that have nothing to do with this restaurant — fifteen were counted.

  **Not the dish that name usually means** — aged kimchi fried in lard, rolled around tofu, with charred pork bulgogi and a fresh seasonal kimchi alongside. One writer relays that **the fresh kimchi changes with the season**

  **Three writers were thrown by the look of it** — this is not the dubu kimchi they had in mind. Two found the roll too big for one mouthful and **cut it in half.** Two were told how to eat it: tofu, pork and kimchi separately first, then everything together. One table spent a while arguing about why the pork tasted of roast duck; another writer tastes flame-grilled bulgogi in it. **Three are glad it is not over-seasoned**

  **There is an opening-period tasting** — ten writers mention it, and it is the thing they talk about most. **How many glasses is not consistent**: one glass a head, one variety a table, or anything on the list, depending on the post.   All four who received it liked it — one is reminded of the frozen persimmon of their school days, another of an old-fashioned Korean sweet. Two call it a summer dessert. It is on the menu at ₩6,000, but **nobody records paying for one** — all four wrote a review instead.

  **A burner comes with it and you keep it simmering at the table.** Neungi mushroom and thick pork trotter meat. Noodles are ₩2,000 more, and two writers note the stock is topped up as often as you like

  **Two of the three who ordered it call it the thing to get here** — one writes that whatever they had been calling neungi until now was not neungi, and that skipping it should be an offence. Three describe the mushroom's scent filling the broth. One advises **ladling some clear broth into a dish before the noodles go in**, because ramyeon thickens it and changes the taste. One was given the noodles free, during what the staff called a free-noodle period

  Chewy buckwheat crêpes filled with radish and carrot, with grilled mackerel and **the owner's own salted hairtail innards.** The price of ₩23,000 appears only in the desk-compiled post, so we left it out

  The one writer who ate it came with their mother, and their account is detailed. What moved them most was that **every bone had been taken out of the mackerel** — fish like this, they say, and nobody would be a fussy eater. The skin was crisp, the flesh moist. They were told the salted hairtail is made milder than usual for people who cannot take the smell, and they asked for a refill. The staff gave them two ways to eat it: crêpe and mackerel, then the same with the salted fish on top. **On its own the crêpe is mild to the point of plainness**

One notes the kimchi is properly ripe and well seasoned, unlike pancakes that are mostly batter. **If it is not raining you will not meet it** — nobody in the posts we read was given one outside the rains

There is nowhere to park. Eight posts say so, two of them naming public or private car parks nearby. But not one writer actually arrived by car — nobody records where they parked or what it cost. Six put it one or two minutes' walk from exit 7, so this appears to be a place people reach by train.

Getting inside

We do not know whether you can get in, and here the question weighs more than usual — it is upstairs, not one writer mentions a lift, and one warns that the stairs are steep. And still nobody looked and said whether there is a step at the door or room for a wheelchair or pushchair to pass. What we could count is that it is on the second floor and that you take stairs to it. On that much, all we can tell a wheelchair user is to ring ahead.

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

When the posts appeared

What we do not know

• No place we have read gathered this much wrong. Anjeong is an ordinary Korean word, so a search on the name alone pulled in a post about investing in retail units (on collecting rent *stably*), one about a dog-friendly café in Byeollae, one about a burger shop by Geumho station (whose signature sauce *steadies* the burger), one about a mochi shop in Seongsu (on *settling* one's mind), and one listing the fortunes of Korean celebrities — which matched because a footballer is named Ahn Jung-hwan. All five have nothing to do with this restaurant, and all five came out. So if you compare our post count here against another place, know that five of the twenty-one were never about this one at all.
• One post was written without going. Post 6875 has no photographs of its own and follows a template — "price range and how to use", "frequently asked", "online channels" — and it gives the hours as 5pm to 1am, closed Tuesdays. All fifteen posts by people who went say 6pm (5pm Fridays and Saturdays) to midnight, and not one mentions Tuesday. Both the hours and the closing day are wrong. We also left out the three prices that appear only in that post: the dishes are real and on the menu, but we could not confirm what they cost.
• Children are not admitted. Two posts say so. Our attribute list has no slot for that, so we counted "with children" as denied — a choice we are recording rather than hiding. No post mentions a high chair. You cannot bring a child here.
• We cannot tell you for certain whether it opens on Sunday — but we can see why the answer split. Six posts say Sunday closed and five fold Sunday into a 5pm weekend opening, and the two groups divide cleanly by date. Every post that has it open on Sunday falls between 6 and 15 July 2026; every post that has it closed runs from 16 July to 21 September. It reads as a restaurant that opened in early July, tried Sunday trading for about ten days and stopped — but that is our inference from the dates, not something the restaurant told us. If you are going on a Sunday, ring first. That it opens an hour early on Fridays and Saturdays, nine posts agree on.
• What we have here is a ten-week record. All fifteen posts fall between 6 July and 21 September 2026, because the restaurant opened in July. Some things we therefore could not count. Prices have not moved once — which may only mean there has not been time. The opening-period spirit tasting and the free rainy-season kimchi pancake, the two things writers mention most, have no stated end date, and we could not confirm whether either still runs. One writer found the food slow to arrive and put it down to the place being new; that too may have changed.
• The toilet is inside. Three writers say so, one noting it is stocked with the things you might need, another glad not to have to use the building's. But nobody says whether it is single-sex, whether there is an accessible one, or how big it is. That it is inside is as far as our counting goes.
• One post declares payment: 1552 carries a sponsorship hashtag. It is the only one of fifteen; the other fourteen say nothing about money — and saying nothing is not the same as having received nothing. The praise here is genuinely lopsided: nine on the service, seven on the quiet, and a single complaint (the food was slow). But all fifteen posts were written within three months of opening, and that matters too — a new restaurant draws generous writing, and the disagreements take longer to arrive.
