Áhoo

아후 Ahu Ahoo is the sound of a child blowing out birthday candles — the shop says the name came from that picture.

Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →

Ahoo is a cake shop on Ttukseom-ro in Seongsu, in a side street between Seoul Forest and Seongsu stations, opposite Gyeongil Elementary School. It sells single-serve mousse cakes shaped like rabbits, bears and hearts, plus whole cakes, and most people reserve ahead and pick up. Prices in the posts: 12,500 won for the black or white rabbit, 13,500 won for the Airy Heart petit gâteau, 58,000 won for the whole Airy Heart. We read 30 posts from March 2025 to October 2026; 17 of them describe going in and buying. The rest are gifted cakes, multi-shop roundups, or write-ups copied from the listing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a reserve-and-collect shop. Nine of the visit posts booked ahead through Naver, Catchtable or an Instagram DM. One got a same-day booking and collected right away, and another walked in without one and bought a petit gâteau. One November 2025 post says a Catchtable glitch put their booking on a Monday, the closed day, and the shop phoned them that morning.
  2. The shop is small: four posts said so, one calling the space really cramped. The seating that's described is a bar counter (one post said it fits about three people), and writers treated it as a place to buy and go rather than sit.
  3. Five posts took their cakes away, and careful packing comes up repeatedly: a free cold pack for a 30-minute trip, a fresh cake brought out from the back. One cake softened on top during a bus ride; another got knocked out of shape on the way.
  4. Two posts walked in: about 8 minutes from Seoul Forest station, or 7-8 minutes from Ttukseom exit 5 or Seongsu exit 4. A parent who took the subway back with a baby found the station's stairs and escalators daunting and the lift slow — that's about the station, not the shop.
3 more
  1. Opinions on sweetness split: two posts found the cakes sweet though balanced, one said the sweetness wasn't overpowering. Two said they weren't heavy or greasy.
  2. Two posts said prices were lower than expected — around 10,000-odd won for a petit gâteau. The writer who paid 58,000 won for a whole cake allowed that some would find it pricey, but felt it was worth it.
  3. Four posts bought a cake for a friend's birthday and two for a partner's. Several carried it to a restaurant; at one, the staff cutting it asked whether it was a stuffed toy.

The most ordered dish is heuk-tokki (흑토끼) — 4 of 13 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Where it is

Map showing where Áhoo is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Two posts walked in: about 8 minutes from Seoul Forest station, or 7-8 minutes from Ttukseom exit 5 or Seongsu exit 4. A parent who took the subway back with a baby found the station's stairs and escalators daunting and the lift slow — that's about the station, not the shop.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 13 posts read)
Step at the entrance1 of 13 posts

The entrance is half a floor up. One post said you climb a short, shallow flight of stairs on the right to reach the door; another pointed to a sign reading '1.5F'. Others went up the wrong stairs at the front and had to come back down after spotting the sign — enter on the marked side.

No post mentions getting in with a wheelchair or stroller, or any ramp or lift. Given the stairs above, check before going — nobody wrote about it, which isn't the same as there being none.

No post mentions a toilet. Most visitors only picked up, so we don't know whether there is one inside.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 13 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes queuing. Those who arrived near closing found the case nearly empty, so writers advised reserving if you want a particular cake.
  • Seven visit posts give the same hours, 12:00 to 19:00 (some copied from the listing). For days off, four say Sunday and Monday, one says Sunday only, one says open daily. A November 2025 visitor confirmed Monday is a closed day when the shop phoned about a booking glitch. Check the shop's Instagram for extra closures or early sell-outs.
  • Whole-cake prices vary by design: 58,000 won for the Airy Heart (June 2025); a gifted post relayed 63,000 won for the black rabbit (September 2026). No one gave a price for the Big Teddy, and no post mentions a price change.
  • The phone number 0507-1496-0370 appears in two posts' info boxes. Two other posts gave a different number and different addresses that match nothing else, so we ignored them. Bookings were made through Naver, Catchtable or Instagram DM.
  • Three write-ups follow the same template, repeating the shop's own blurb (the candle-blowing origin, '541 m from Seoul Forest exit 2', 'a bar table with four stools') with no first-hand detail. We treated them as copied and didn't count them.
