ARDOR

아도르 Adoreu Ardor is the English word for burning passion or zeal; 아도르 is simply that word written in Korean.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

Ardor is a small wine bar and Western kitchen in a converted brick house on a side street between Seoul Forest and Ttukseom stations. People treat it as a pasta place at lunch and a wine bar in the evening. Posts give carbonara at 18,000 won, mackerel lemon-butter pasta 20,000, lasagna 21,000, bisque 23,000, lamb 28,000, beef short rib 31,000 and the fried potato small plate 9,000, with a seasonal menu that changes. We read 30 posts from June 2025 to September 2026; one was about a different café and was set aside, and all other 29 describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The window bar is the seat people talk about: nineteen posts sat at or by the big windows, and a solo diner was shown to the bar. Two summer posts mention a small desk fan at each seat.
  2. Seventeen posts describe the open kitchen. Two say they watched cooking start the moment they ordered; one warns the kitchen heat reaches the tables in summer.
  3. It is small: eleven posts said so, and only one called it 'a decent size'. Those who counted list one four-top, two two-tops and the window bar.
  4. Eight posts booked ahead through Naver or CatchTable. Two (August and September 2025) said a 20,000-won deposit was charged, which contradicts the 'no deposit' CatchTable blurb copied into other posts.
5 more
  1. In the evening you have to order a drink: three posts ran into it, including a Friday 7pm visit. Several lunch visitors ate without any wine. The 'Fri–Sun and holidays after 5pm' wording is copied from the shop.
  2. Nine posts call it quiet — a residential lane off the main strip, where 'it's mostly music and the sound of cooking'.
  3. Five posts said prices were reasonable for a Seongsu wine bar; none called it expensive.
  4. Seven posts walked in: seven to ten minutes from Seoul Forest Station exit 1, five or six from Ttukseom. One couple got off at Seongsu Station and found it was the long way round.
  5. Seven posts came as a couple, four with friends or colleagues, two alone. One Friday-evening visitor noted every other table was a couple.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Where it is

Map showing where ARDOR is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Seven posts walked in: seven to ten minutes from Seoul Forest Station exit 1, five or six from Ttukseom. One couple got off at Seongsu Station and found it was the long way round.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 12 (of 29 posts read)
Step at the entrance10 of 29 posts
Toilet inside1 of 29 posts

The address says ground floor, but you climb stairs to get in. Ten posts mention going up steps to the door — 'about a 1.5th floor, just a few steps up', 'half a flight up'. Some call it half a floor, others 'really the second floor', but none describe it as below ground, and twelve place it above street level.

Ten posts mention steps to the entrance, but nobody wrote about wheelchair or stroller access, a lift or a ramp.

One post said the restroom is inside the shop, and another said it was clean. The 'separate men's and women's' line is copied from the listing, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about waiting. Two posts, at 2:30pm and 5:30pm, found it empty; one weekend-evening post said it filled up. That isn't proof there's never a wait — just that nobody reported one.
  • One writer brought a baby to a weekday lunch and felt awkward in the quiet, date-night room. The no-kids rule (Fri–Sun and holidays after 5pm) comes from copied listings.
  • Opening hours are almost all copied from the listing: 23 posts give 11am to midnight, closed Mondays, and 15 give last orders at 11pm. Two wrote 'daily' and one wrote an 11:30 opening. Two posts noted there is no afternoon break.
  • Prices are consistent across posts from June 2025 to September 2026. Only the lasagna differs: one post (August 2025) wrote 23,000 won, four wrote 21,000. Nobody gave a total bill for a meal.
  • The phone number 0507-1351-8169 appears consistently, but nobody booked by phone; everyone who reserved used Naver or CatchTable.
  • Many posts read alike: the same 'seasonal ingredients, new menu and wine list' line, the CatchTable blurb and the Naver coupon offer recur. Two posts disclose sponsorship, two were hosted or given a meal voucher, two say they paid themselves, and the rest say nothing. Several mention two chefs, but one September 2026 post says the chef runs it alone; we can't tell whether that changed.
