영동순대국 Yeongdong is the area name shared with Yeongdong Bridge, whose north end the shop faces; sundaeguk is Korean blood-sausage soup.

An old sundaeguk house at the north end of Yeongdong Bridge, 36 Dongil-ro, Gwangjin-gu. Three posts put the soup at 9,000 won; the menu also runs to kimchi stew (9,000), stir-fried pork (10,000) and even pork belly, so one writer called it a home-style diner dressed as a soup shop. Two posts say two elderly women run it. We read 4 posts from December 2025 to October 2026, all from people who went.

What sets it apart

  1. You sit on the floor. Two posts said so, one calling it entirely floor tables; no post mentioned chairs.
  2. Three of four posts found the portions large: one said the spoon felt heavy with meat, another that the kimchi stew was nearly 1.5 servings. The fourth counted about four pieces of sundae and said most of the meat was fat.
  3. One post says ordering soju brought a plate of seasoned seaweed first, and the kimchi arrived as a whole head cut at the table with scissors; another post also mentions the whole-head kimchi and scissors.
  4. Of three posts that discussed price, two called it cheap. One table of two had sundaeguk, stir-fried pork, kimchi stew and three bottles of soju for 28,000 won.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 4 posts read)

Only one post mentions the floor: ground level of the Yeongdong Hotel building.

No post mentions a step at the door or wheelchair or stroller access. Two posts do say seating is on the floor.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on the broth split three to one: three posts found it mild to watery, one found it rich. Both posts that tried the kimchi stew preferred it to the soup.
  • The December 2025 post says it paid its own way but reads like promotion, and lists a different menu (sulguk, suyuk) from the other posts. We counted it anyway.
  • No post describes getting there by subway or bus; one only notes Yeongdong Bridge is right in front.
  • No post mentions waiting. One said the room stayed full until closing, but not that anyone queued.
  • Company is too thin to generalize: one post went with a local friend, one went alone.
  • Opening hours (5 a.m. to 7 p.m.) come from a single post; nobody else confirmed them, and no post gives a closing day.
  • The phone number 02-467-3530 appears in one post only, and none says whether bookings are taken. Prices are from 2026 posts; the December 2025 post gave none.
