Chicos is a Mexican kitchen between Jayang and Konkuk University stations, on the ground floor of an office building on Jayang Beonyeong-ro. The menu runs three ways — tacos, bowls, burritos — and the house method is sous-vide: beef top blade and chicken thigh. One writer reports that the owner cooked Mexican food in Australia for more than ten years before opening here, and the earliest post we read, from July 2025, calls the place newly opened. It is small and mostly counter seating, which makes it good for eating alone and tight for a group. Closed Mondays. The posts we read run from July 2025 to September 2026.

What sets it apart
- The room is small. One writer says it is all counter; another describes an L-shaped bar plus a straight table. The two who called it cramped meant different things: one was thinking of a group or of coming with a child, the other read the small room as a sign the place lives on delivery and takeaway. The writer who came alone after work read exactly the same room the other way — the single seats and the bar were the point. They are describing one room, not three.
- They do not sell alcohol — but you may bring your own. One writer phoned ahead to ask about beer and was told there is none, and that buying some and bringing it in is fine; that answer is why they went. Two other writers say the tacos call for a beer, and both drank theirs away from the table — one by the river with a takeaway order, one from a can bought on the way. If you want a drink with the food, buy it first.
- Some people take the food to Ttukseom Hangang Park. One writer, on the way to a tennis court, packed up tacos, a bowl and nachos and ate them on a platform by the river, and recommends doing exactly that in good weather rather than sitting in. Note that the long passage about parking in that post is about the riverside car park, not about Chicos.
- They disagree about how much food it is. A party of four who ordered three tacos, two bowls and a burrito say a grown man would leave full, and another writer simply calls the portions generous. But the writer who ordered tacos alone pushes back: plenty of reviews call it a lot, they say, and it was an ordinary amount — they could have eaten a second order of two. The bowls seem to be the filling thing and the tacos depend on the eater; that writer also wished for a side to go with them.
- One writer describes ordering and paying at a small kiosk beside the seat. That post and one other note that coriander is set when you order — one says they will pile it on for free if you ask, while a table of four, three of whom dislike it, asked for just a little.
- One writer notes a socket at each counter seat — and adds their own caveat in the same breath: this is not a cafe, so charge briefly and leave.

Exactly one writer parked here. They drove over on a hot day, asked the owner, and left the car at the kerb — not in a building car park. Two other posts do say parking is available, but in both it is a line in a copied information block: one of those writers walked, the other came from work. If you mean to drive, you will be asking when you get there.

Getting there
Naver Map has a full English mode — Settings → Language → English. In Korea it gives better walking and transit directions than Google Maps.
Getting inside
No post mentions a step at the door, a ramp, a wheelchair or a pushchair. Those who walked in and the one who drove up all wrote about the food and none about the threshold. We do not know whether a wheelchair gets in — that is unchecked, not refused.

What we do not know
- Not one post mentions the toilet — whether it is inside the shop or out in the building, whether it is shared, nothing. A unit on the ground floor of an office building may well use the building's own, but that is our guess and nobody wrote it down. The silence is ours to declare, not the shop's.
- Nobody describes the entrance with their own eyes. Several posts carry "unit 102, ground floor", but that line comes from the check-in widget or from a copied information block. Whether there are steps, whether the door is level with the street — no one says.
- No post says anything about queueing — neither that there was a wait nor that there wasn't. One post does use the word, but about a different, better-known taco place near Achasan; that writer turned toward Chicos precisely because the other one was a hassle. For a room you can count the seats of, we know nothing about waiting.
- Nobody writes about walking here from a station. One post places it "between Konkuk University and Jayang"; another gives "within 20 minutes of Jayang exit 1" in a copied information block — neither is an account of a walk actually taken. Of the seven posts, two came by car and two walked over from the neighbourhood; the rest do not say. How long it takes from the subway is something we did not count.
- Only three posts give prices, all from 2025 — July, September and October. Nothing changed between them, but the four posts written in 2026 carry no price at all, so we cannot say the figures still hold. Opening hours are in the same three posts: the July one has the door opening at 11:00, the later two at 11:30, with the break sliding by the same half hour — which reads as one change rather than a disagreement. The two later posts disagree about the weekend: September has every open day closing at 20:30, October has Sunday closing at 14:30. We do not know which holds now, and no post treats Saturday on its own.
- Three of the seven posts are month-long personal diaries, with five, four and three check-ins respectively, so several shops share one post; we counted only the sentence or two around the Chicos check-in. One of those writers says the taco bowl is so good they eat it about once a week — but does not say whether that means going in or ordering in, and delivery comes up elsewhere in the same post, so we could not tell. They do not say which bowl either, so we left it out of the menu.
- No post declares a sponsorship. One says the meal was paid for out of pocket; the other six say nothing either way — which means undeclared, not unsponsored. One further post was dropped altogether: a bulk listing of 561 newly registered businesses, in which Chicos is a single row of category, floor area and address, with nobody having been there.
