Sushi Yuu is a sushi omakase counter on the second floor of a red-brick building facing a park, next to Lotte Mart in Dal-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan. You sit at the counter in front of the chef, eat a set course and book through CatchTable. Lunch is a single noon seating; dinner runs in two seatings. Posts up to September 2026 give 60,000 won for lunch and 110,000-130,000 won for dinner; one post from 14 October 2026 gives 70,000 won and 130,000-150,000 won. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to October 2026. Two were about other places (another sushi bar and the bakery downstairs), which leaves 28 about this one, and all 28 describe an actual visit.

What sets it apart
- Tea comes first. Fifteen posts mention it: hojicha or oolong, hot or iced as you prefer, and several say staff topped it up as soon as it ran low. One of the fifteen, from Christmas 2024, got a welcome glass of champagne instead.
- Nineteen posts call the staff and chef attentive, and they say why: the server wiping condensation off water and sake glasses, hand towels swapped once they got dirty, a candle on the tamago for a birthday or anniversary, and the chef seeing guests out to the door. Two writers with shellfish allergies say the course was adjusted after they noted it when booking.
- Seven posts note a phone rest at each seat, a small square stand or bamboo mat beside the hand towel.
- The draught beer is Suntory The Premium Malt's; ten posts ordered it or note it is served, and one January 2026 post gives 12,000 won a glass. Several posts list a 30,000 won corkage fee per bottle up to 750 ml, and the two groups who brought their own bottles paid it.

Six posts actually parked: two in front of the shop, two in nearby side streets, one at Cheongsol Elementary School and one at Lotte Mart. One writer meant to use the school lot in the evening, found the gate shut and parked in a side street. The advice to use resident parking bays at lunch and the school lot at dinner appears in many posts, but it is copied from listings and we did not count it.

Four posts walked up the stairs to the second floor. Nobody says whether there is a lift or a step at the entrance; that means we don't know, not that there isn't one. Two posts mention going through a glass door and then a second sliding wooden door.
Three posts put the toilet right beside the entrance, but we cannot tell whether that is inside the restaurant or in the building corridor. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one copied listing.

What we do not know
- Prices may have gone up. A post from 9 September 2026 was told that rising ingredient costs would change the price, and a post from 14 October lists 70,000 won for lunch, 130,000 won for the first dinner seating and 150,000 won for the second seating and weekends. That post describes a February visit, so nobody has yet written about paying the new price. Up to 30 September, posts put a meal at 60,000 won for lunch and 110,000-130,000 won for dinner. Four posts say it is not expensive; three say dinner costs a lot but was worth it.
- All the opening hours are copied from listings. Twelve posts give 12:00-22:00 with a break from 14:00 to 18:00, and two say the weekend break ends at 17:30. Up to August 2026 the closing days are every Tuesday plus the second and fourth Wednesday; from September they are every Tuesday and Wednesday. A 9 September post heard from the owner that the change was coming, and the 8 September CatchTable calendar and an October post both show Tuesday and Wednesday closed. One 30 September post lists Wednesday only. Check CatchTable before you go.
- Seating is at the counter facing the chef; three posts say every seat is at the counter. The seat count varies: nine in two posts, eight in two, nine or ten in one, and one guessed six at most. We cannot settle the exact number.
- One post, from a weekday second dinner seating in March 2026, says the chef was doing everything alone, the gaps between courses were long and it never felt filling. No other post complains about pace, and one says the timing was neither fast nor slow.
- No post arrived by bus or subway. All we have is that it is easy to find near Lotte Mart Ulsan, so we don't know the public-transport route.
- No post describes queueing. Seventeen booked ahead; some say weekends fill early, and one got a seat four days out through a cancellation alert. Nobody says what happens if you turn up without a booking.
- Four posts give the phone number as 0507-1389-8961, two as 010-2990-8957 and one as 052-227-1770. Bookings go through CatchTable; two posts copy a note that online booking closes an hour before opening, after which you should phone the shop.
- No post declares sponsorship or a free invitation; nine say they paid themselves and nineteen don't say. Dessert is usually house-made hojicha ice cream, but four posts from January to April 2026 got Häagen-Dazs, and one of them thought it changes with the season.
