냠냠숯불두마리치킨 울산남구점 A charcoal-grilled chicken shop in Ulsan's Dal-dong, run mostly for collection, where two birds in two flavours cost less than two singles

Nyamnyam Sutbul Dumari Chikin's Ulsan Namgu branch is a charcoal-chicken shop on the ground floor of a mixed-use block in Dal-dong, down the lane beside Gangnam Church across from the Lotte Mart. The chain grills its birds over charcoal instead of frying them and then coats them in sauce; you pick one of four heat levels. It is built around collection and delivery. There is a room with four tables and draught beer on the list, but only one of the posts we read describes sitting down to eat; the rest phoned ahead and picked the food up. Closed every Thursday. Thirteen of the twenty-seven posts turned out to be about other restaurants — rival chains sharing the words "charcoal two-bird chicken", an eel house at the same street-name address, and neighbourhood round-ups that never mention this shop at all. So the denominator below is thirteen. The posts we read run from March 2025 to February 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Collection is not a side door here, it is the front one. Eleven of the thirteen writers carried the food home, and seven note ₩2,000 off for coming to get it. Four say phoning ahead means no wait at all; three put the wait at twenty to thirty minutes if you just turn up. One describes standing there while the order phone rang and delivery riders came and went without a break. Three mention paying with Ulsan Pay, the city's local currency.
  2. You choose the heat, so "spicy" means something different in every post. There are four levels. Four writers put the middle one at the heat of Shin Ramyun, and one of them found it slightly milder than that. Those who ordered mild call it genuinely mild — one fed it to a primary-schooler, another says it is gentler than the Jjikoba chain. The one who ordered hot describes proper buldak heat. That is why the posts split on whether this chicken is spicy: they are not disagreeing, they ordered different things. The top level is described on the menu board as tongue-hurting, and nobody we read has tried it.
  3. Nine writers say the portions are big, and not one calls the place expensive. Two birds cost noticeably less than twice one, and four posts reach for the Korean word for value-for-money. One couple ate it for dinner and still had enough left to eat over rice the next day; one writer could not finish a bird alone. Five note that a 500ml cola, pickled radish, salt and mustard are included — one of them points out how rarely the cola is thrown in these days.
  4. Most people swap the bones out: five of the thirteen paid extra for boneless (₩1,500 a bird in March 2025, ₩2,000 by February 2026). Two of them think it is thigh meat; three say there was no dry white meat at all, and five posts compare it favourably with the Jjikoba chain on exactly that point. One writer deliberately kept the bones for the pleasure of gnawing them. Five added udon noodles to be tossed through the sauce, and four of those call the addition compulsory.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park3 of 13 posts

Nobody has seen a car park of the shop's own. The three writers who mention parking put it as "briefly in the lane nearby", "there was somewhere to park", and "parking is possible, so driving over is fine"; a fourth stopped in the residents-only bay in front of the shop just long enough to collect. One guesses that parking in the building is probably allowed. Whether any of it belongs to the shop, and how many cars fit, no one says.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 2 (of 13 posts read)

No one has looked at the doorway. Two writers place the shop on the ground floor of the block, but not one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair could get in. The posts that copied the listing's facility list did not cover it either. We can say neither that it is step-free nor that it is not.

Not one writer mentions the toilet — whether there is one inside, whether it is shared with the rest of the building, whether it is split by sex. Almost everyone here collected their food and left, so the question never came up.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 14 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nobody writes about getting here without a car. Not one of the thirteen mentions a bus stop or a station: every set of directions is given by landmark — across from the Lotte Mart, beside Gangnam Church, behind the Mercedes showroom. One writer walked, one drove. How you would arrive by public transport, we do not know.
  • Nobody describes queueing. This is a collection shop: people phone the order through and arrive when it is ready. One writer does say the pickup wait stretches to about half an hour when orders pile up, and another puts it at twenty to twenty-five minutes if you order on the spot. Whether you would wait for a table, we do not know — only one post describes eating in, so nobody has written about what happens on a Friday night when all four tables are taken.
  • The opening time changed while these posts were being written. Three posts from March 2025 have it opening at 16:30 and closing at 1am (1:30 on Friday and Saturday); five from February 2026 have it opening at 17:00 and closing at 23:30 (midnight on Friday and Saturday). The two periods do not overlap, so this reads as a change rather than a disagreement — but we have not checked which is true now. All ten posts that mention it close on Thursdays, and three add that the shop opens on a Thursday that falls on a public holiday or the day before one. No post mentions a mid-afternoon break.
  • One writer discloses being given the food — a March 2025 post that opens by saying so and promising honesty anyway. It rates the chicken milder and less dry than the Jjikoba chain, which is the same thing four writers with nothing to disclose say independently. A delivery post records getting free chips in exchange for a promised review; that one is out of the count because it is not a visit. Five posts appeared within five days of each other in February 2026 repeating the same notices — ₩2,000 off for collection, closed Thursdays, four heat levels — but each ordered different things at different prices, so we counted them rather than throwing them out.
