Chagyeong
차경 Chagyeong (借景) means 'borrowed scenery', a traditional garden technique of framing an outside view as part of the room; here the wide windows frame Namsan Tower and the city.

Chagyeong is a wine bar on the second floor of 46 Sowol-ro 20-gil, by Sinheung Market in Haebangchon, Yongsan, Seoul. You sit facing wide windows onto Namsan Tower and the city and eat Korean-based small dishes, such as beef tartare on gamtae seaweed (25,000 won), flatfish and aged-kimchi ceviche (23,000 won; 24,000 in an October 2026 post) and pollock-roe mayo rice balls (8,000 won), with a bottle of wine or traditional liquor. We read 30 posts dated October 2024 to October 2026. Six were about other places (a same-name tea house in Jeonju, La Vista on the 3rd floor, Node Coffee & Bar on the 4th), and 22 describe a visit here, including one where the writers were turned away without a booking.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The windows are the point. Sixteen posts wrote about the wide windows or window seats, and several timed a 5 p.m. first sitting to catch sunset into night views. Window seats are not guaranteed, though: one writer asked for one and was seated farthest away, another booked three weeks ahead and found them all taken, and one first-in-the-door couple was simply told to pick.
- Hall tables must order a bottle. Ten posts said one bottle per table is required; some added that the bar seats can order by the glass. One driver asked for a non-alcoholic glass instead and was told it could only be added on top of a bottle. One post described the rule differently, as one drink per person.
- This is a booking place. Eleven posts said they reserved via CatchTable or Naver, some two weeks, three weeks or a month ahead. One mentions a 20,000-won-per-person CatchTable deposit; a December 2024 post was told only CatchTable bookings were taken from Dec 26 into the new year.
- Portions are small. Eight posts said so: a large-plate ceviche that felt like an appetizer, leaving hungry and going on to a second stop, ordering extra rice balls. One post found the meatballs with added noodles filling.

- Five posts called it pricey; two said it wasn't. One reckoned wine at about three times bottle-shop price; one table of four dishes and a bottle came to about 200,000 won. Bottles ordered were 72,000, 80,000 and 110,000 won, and one post says the list starts in the 50,000s.

There is no dedicated parking. Three posts said so; one driver used the Haebangchon public lot about 20 seconds' walk away and paid 4,000 won (EV rate) for 5 to 9:30 p.m. on a Thursday. The line about rising traffic and using public transport that recurs in several posts is copied from the venue's own description.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

We don't know about step-free access. Five posts say it is on the second floor and some mention climbing stairs; nobody wrote about an elevator, an entrance step, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means unknown, not absent. Several posts note the steep Haebangchon hill.
Two posts say the toilet is inside the bar, one noting it is unisex. Nobody described its size or accessibility.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices have crept up. The samgye risotto was 28,000 won in December 2024 and 30,000 from November 2025; the ceviche was 23,000 through January 2026 and 24,000 in one October 2026 post. Several posts note the seasonal menu changes through the year.
- One post said the bus is a fine way to get there. Another gave directions via bus 402 to Boseong Girls' School stop without saying it rode it. Nobody described walking up from Noksapyeong station.
- No post describes queuing. One group arrived without a booking, put their names on the waitlist and only got the call at 9:30 p.m., by which time they had gone elsewhere. Another post heard that walk-ins are possible after 10 p.m.
- Eleven posts give the same hours: Mon–Thu 17:00–23:30, Fri 17:00–01:00, Sat 13:00–01:00, Sun 13:00–23:30. One April 2025 post has Saturday opening at 17:00 and one October 2026 post has Sun–Thu closing at 23:00. No post mentions a closing day; most of these are copied from the venue's listing.
- Nine posts list the phone number as 0507-1354-2824; only one scraped info block from October 2026 shows 010-8575-1609. Bookings are taken through CatchTable and Naver.
- Some wording repeats across posts: three copy the venue's own blurb (opposite Haebang Church, the name taken from a traditional garden technique), and one September 2026 post embeds a visit inside an ad for a cooking school. We did not count that copied wording.
- One post mentions sitting on a 'terrace', but the others describe only indoor window seats, one saying the open windows felt like sitting outdoors. We could not confirm a separate outdoor area.
