Wonjo Jobakjip
원조 조박집 Wonjo means 'the original'; Jobak-jip is 'the Jo-Park house' — one post repeats that the name comes from the surnames of the founding couple, Jo and Park.

Wonjo Jobakjip's main house sits in a Yonggang-dong alley near Mapo Station (313-1 Tojeong-ro). Marinated pork ribs cost 20,000 won for 250 g and you grill them yourself over charcoal; a bowl of icy dongchimi noodles per person comes first and sweet rice punch comes free at the end. There is an annex across the lane and a third branch nearby, and diners have been sent to the annex when the main house was full. We read 30 posts from June 12 to October 14, 2026; 14 describe eating at this main house.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You grill the meat yourself — two posts say so, one in plain words. Staff bring the meat, tell you to put it on right away, and swap the grill plates and adjust the fire; one visitor learned to cut the ribs only just before eating because the charcoal is hot.
- Five posts say the marinade is not overly sweet; one calls it gently sweet and one doesn't settle. On salt, four say it is not strong; one disagrees, finding it too salty, ordinary for its fame, and not worth a return visit.
- Three posts note you can buy dongchimi, young-radish kimchi and rice punch at the counter; one says takeaway meat is 30,000 won for 600 g, cheaper than eating in.
- Two posts found the room large; one adds that tables by the door are packed tight, while the back has sofa seating and more room, and most guests are shown there.
1 more
- Three visits were with family (two with children), two with friends, one with a group of former teammates, one with a partner. One writer has come for family dinners for 30 years; another returned after four or five years.

Many posts copy that there is no parking at the door and that the house covers one hour at the Mapo Yusuji or Yeomni public lots; only one visitor wrote that they used it.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 13 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 13 posts |
No one described the floor or any steps from experience; the '1st floor' in the address is copied. One post only notes the entrance is down an alley, not on the main road.
No post mentions a threshold or entering with a wheelchair or stroller — that means nobody wrote about it, not that it is step-free.
Only one post mentions toilets: separate men's and women's, inside the restaurant.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 16 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Waits are split: two posts report a queue or say there always is one, three walked straight in (weekday evenings or around 8 pm), two don't settle. How the waiting list works is hearsay or copied text.
- 'About three minutes on foot from Mapo Station exit 1' is copied in almost every post; only one writer actually said the subway made meeting up easy.
- Opening hours are copied identically in seven visit posts — 11:30–22:00, break 15:00–17:00, closed Sundays — but no one confirmed them first-hand. The annex and third branch reportedly open at 17:00.
- Prices in Aug–Oct 2026 posts: marinated ribs 20,000 won, plain ribs 23,000, stew and rice 1,000 each — about 41,000 won for two people with two portions and a stew. Two posts call it good value, one says it had better taste good for the price. A regular notes noodle refills and stew used to be free (no date given).
- The phone number 02-712-7462 (main house) appears consistently. Some posts copy that bookings go through CatchTable, but a regular says Saturdays take no reservations; no one wrote about actually booking.
- One visitor in shorts touched the hot smoke vent under the table; signs on the walls warn people in shorts or skirts.
- Two posts about eating at the annex are not counted as visits here, nor are thirteen list or info posts and one meal-kit review — several are templated listings, one still carrying its writing instructions.
