Cafe

Koriko Cafe

코리코카페 Koriko Kape Koriko is the town Kiki moves to in Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service, and the cafe is themed on that film.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Kiki's Delivery Service theme cafe in a converted yellow house down an alley off Seongmisan-ro in Yeonnam-dong. You order at a kiosk on the ground floor, browse the Ghibli goods shop, then sit upstairs or on the terrace. An iced americano is 6,000 won, and 1,000 won more gets you a coffee ice cube shaped like Jiji the cat; sixteen of the nineteen visits ordered it. Slice cakes are 8,000 won, the character mousse cakes and the brunch pie set 19,800 won. Several writers said people come for the space rather than the food, which drew words like so-so, just okay and unremarkable. We read 30 posts dated 5 May to 9 October 2026. We set aside 2 about the Jeju branch and did not count 9 list or copied posts, which leaves 19 visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts mentioned terrace seating. One ate toast there on rattan chairs under the trees, called it a rooftop terrace, and warned that the summer sun is strong, so pick a shaded spot.
  2. Ten posts singled out the window seats: big windows onto trees, with daylight falling on the tables. One noted a window bar counter on the first floor up.
  3. Six posts ordered at the kiosk. One explained that you pick up a pager next to the kiosk yourself and key in its number when you pay.
  4. Four posts noted many foreign visitors: all three groups queuing before opening on a Saturday were foreigners, Japanese tourists were browsing the goods shop, and the signs are also in English.
3 more
  1. Four posts walked from exit 3 of Hongik University station, but the times split two and two: ten minutes against twenty. It sits in an alley between low-rise flats and can be hard to find the first time.
  2. Two posts said it is on the pricey side; complaints about the goods prices came up more often. Drinks ran 6,000 to 8,500 won, the Jiji ice 1,000 won, slice cakes 8,000 won and the character mousse cakes 19,800 won.
  3. Three posts came on a date, three with friends and two with family; one family visit came because a daughter asked to go.

Where it is

Map showing where Koriko Cafe is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Four posts walked from exit 3 of Hongik University station, but the times split two and two: ten minutes against twenty. It sits in an alley between low-rise flats and can be hard to find the first time.

Getting inside

Second floor12 of 18 posts

Most of the seating is upstairs. Twelve of the nineteen visits wrote about the first floor up. The ground floor is taken by the counter, the cake case and the goods shop; writers went up because the ground floor was full, or grabbed a table upstairs first and then ordered at the kiosk below. Several photographed the Kiki and Jiji stained glass on the wooden staircase.

The registered address lists a basement level and one post's copied info block says the same, but no one wrote about going down there; the posts only describe the ground floor, the first floor up and the terrace. That does not mean there is no basement, only that nobody wrote about it.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. It is a house reached through a garden, several posts climbed a wooden staircase to the upstairs seating, and none mentioned a lift.

No post described the toilets from experience. One copied info block lists separate men's and women's toilets, but we did not count it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-082 posts in one day
2026-10-032 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waits are mixed. One post queued: arriving at 9:45 on a Saturday, before opening, three groups were already ahead. Four walked straight in (just before 3 pm on a Saturday, around noon, and twice on weekdays). One found every seat taken on a Saturday afternoon until a window seat freed up, and one said drinks were slow because it was busy. The sign at the door says that when there is a queue, your whole party must be present to go in.
  • Only one post mentioned a 90-minute time limit; the others did not bring it up.
  • Desserts sell out. One late-afternoon visitor had paid for desserts only to have them cancelled because everything was gone; the ribbon cake was sold out even for a Saturday opening-time visit; another found the cake case mostly empty on a weekend afternoon.
  • Twelve posts give the opening hours as 10:00 to 19:00, and seven give a last order of 18:30, but almost all of these are copied information blocks rather than something the writer checked. Three posts say the Dutch baby, fondant au chocolat and meat pie stop at 6 pm. No post gave a closing day.
  • Six posts copied the same phone number, 02-338-8865. Nobody said whether the cafe takes reservations.
