Jangjakjip Yeonnam Bonjeom
장작집 연남본점 Jangjak-jip means 'firewood house' — the chickens are roasted over oak firewood in an oven by the entrance.

A spot on Worldcupbuk-ro 6-gil in Yeonnam-dong that roasts whole chickens over oak firewood and serves them on a sizzling plate over a crust of scorched sticky rice. Several posts mention the chickens turning in the oven by the entrance. You pick a sauce (Cheongyang cream, garlic, carbonara-buldak and others) and add toppings such as corn, cheese or pasta; there are also Gupo noodles and smoked pork ribs that must be reserved. One receipt shows two people paying 60,000 won for a 26,000-won garlic chicken, two toppings, soju and draft beer. We read 10 posts dated 19 September to 9 October 2026; 3 were about the Icheon, Konkuk and Yongsan branches and were set aside, and all 7 remaining posts describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Two posts found the portions large: one said the rice crust alone was plenty for two, and a group of five described the cheese and garlic chips piled high.
- Two posts were written by repeat visitors: one reordered the exact combination from a year earlier, the other called it a place they keep going back to. One date-night post, by contrast, said it wasn't their style and didn't taste like much.
- Two posts went around 6 pm on a Friday. One walked straight in but saw a long queue form right after ordering; the other found only a few tables left. No one recorded how long they waited. The first also said food was slow because the kitchen handles delivery too.
- One post said you order by scanning a QR code at each table; there is also a paper menu that lists a suggested topping under each dish.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside

No post described which floor the restaurant is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.
No one mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there is no barrier.
The toilet is outside the restaurant. One post described it first-hand: separate men's and women's rooms outdoors, with the door code posted beside the entrance. Another post listed 'toilet: outside' in a copied info block, which we did not count.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- It is walkable from Hongik University station but not right next to it: one post said you have to walk a bit, and a copied info block gives about 10 minutes from exit 1. No one mentioned buses.
- Company varies: one post went with a friend, one with a group of five, one on a date; the rest didn't say.
- Opening hours appear in three posts, all copied from listings. Two agree on 17:00-24:00 on weekdays and 13:00-24:00 on Saturdays but differ on Sunday closing (23:00 vs 24:00); the third gives 16:00-23:00 weekdays and 13:00-23:00 weekends. No post mentions a closing day.
- Only one post, with a receipt, gave prices. We have no prices for the other chickens, the noodles or the smoked ribs.
- Two posts give the same phone number, 010-3336-8844. One said the smoked ribs must be reserved ahead; another checked the queue on the CatchTable app. No one said whether tables can be booked by phone.
