Hwacheong
화청 One blogger says the name means honey stirred into food; the posts give no hanja, so we cannot confirm it.

Hwacheong is a charcoal-grill pork house in a converted detached house on a side street of Yeonnam-dong (Seongmisan-ro 27-gil). It grills Iberico hwangjesal, belly and neck, plus pork makchang. Sets run 56,000 won (500 g), 61,000 won (300 g makchang plus 300 g hwangjesal) and 98,000 won (for three or four); makchang alone is 15,000 won per 200 g. We read 30 posts dated 8 April to 26 September 2026, and 23 of them describe eating here. The earliest visit is a 3 February diary entry. Four posts were about Guangzhou's Huacheng Square or other places, and we set them aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The makchang is par-grilled in the kitchen before it reaches the table; ten posts say so. One says this cut both the cooking time and the smell, and another notes it takes little time on the grill.
- Eight posts say the makchang had no off smell, and none say it did.
- Who grills depends on when you go. Nine posts say staff grilled for them or offered to, three grilled their own, and three are unclear. Two April posts say staff don't grill when it is busy, and that grilling service is offered only at certain times. At the evening rush you may end up grilling yourself.
- Twelve posts went with a Naver booking. One diary entry says they turned up without a booking, could not get a table, and ate elsewhere.
8 more
- Six posts describe a promotion: free ramyeon with a booking and extra pork belly for writing a review. We note it because it gives reviewers a reason to be kind.
- Expect a wait at dinner. Four posts waited: one arrived at 8:20 on a Wednesday evening with one group ahead and waited seven minutes; one waited briefly on a weekday; one saw a long queue at Saturday peak; one saw people waiting in the yard on the way out.
- Six posts mention a waiting area in the front yard with camping chairs.
- Basic side dishes such as dressed scallions, scallion kimchi and pickled garlic leaves are set out. Lettuce, kimchi and chillies can be topped up at a self-service bar, as fourteen posts say. Some mention hair ties left at the bar.
- Ten posts call it clean, and they say why: mouthwash and floss in the toilet, Aesop hand wash, lids on the self-service bar, and no smoke or smell clinging to clothes.
- Because it is a converted house, the space is split into rooms. Five posts mention a room that suits groups, and two sat at window seats.
- Five posts ordered through a kiosk or a tabletop tablet.
- Five posts say you can walk from the station: about five minutes from Gajwa, and 10 to 15 minutes from Hongik University Station.

Parking
4 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Four posts say there is no parking of its own, and three say only that parking is hard. The advice to use the nearby Yeonnam public car park mostly comes from copied info blocks. Only one post drove there.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
5 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside

The registered address lists a basement and a ground floor, but no post says whether there is basement seating or which floor they ate on. That doesn't mean there isn't any; nobody wrote about it.
You go through a gate and a yard to get into the house, but no post mentions steps, thresholds, or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. We don't know.
Three posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant; one of them says it is unisex.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices are the same in every post from April to September 2026: 56,000 won for the 500 g set, 61,000 won for the makchang set, 98,000 won for the large set, and 15,000 won for 200 g of makchang. Three posts call it good value for Yeonnam-dong, and none call it expensive. Only one gives a full bill: 97,000 won for three people.
- Twelve posts give opening hours of 16:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and 14:00 to 23:00 at weekends. Four give just 16:00 to 23:00, and last orders are at 22:00. Most of this is copied information, though. One July post says it closes on Wednesdays and Thursdays and warns of occasional temporary closures. One April post lists a 15:00 to 17:00 break, which doesn't fit a 16:00 weekday opening. Check before you go.
- Some posts read as promotion. One post repeats another word for word and carries a note naming the restaurant as advertiser, so we counted that text once. Another has a sponsorship hashtag in its Instagram caption. Three posts end with the same eight hashtags, but their bodies differ, so we counted them.
- Several posts give the phone number as 0507-1363-1110. Most booked through Naver; none booked by phone, though one called to ask about the wait.
