Namsan Sanchaejip

남산산채집 Sanchae means wild mountain greens and jip means house, so the name reads 'the Namsan mountain-greens house'; several posts say it opened about 30 years ago as Namsangol Sanchae Boribap, a wild-greens barley-rice place.

Compiled from 19 blog posts read in fullSources →

Namsan Sanchaejip is a Korean restaurant on the ground floor of 95 Sopa-ro, next to the Namsan cable car station, serving wild-greens bibimbap alongside the old-style Namsan pork cutlet. Several posts note that Chotbul 1978 restaurant is on the third floor of the same building, with a cafe on the second. The most-cited prices are 12,800 won for the cutlet, 15,500 won for the cutlet-and-bibimbap set and 14,000 won for the chive pancake; five posts say you order from a tablet or kiosk at the table. We read 30 posts from September 2025 to October 2026; 21 record an actual meal. Six were about Chotbul 1978 upstairs and were set aside, and three only introduced or listed the place.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight posts mention the outdoor terrace; three sat outside on a fine day. One post says pets are not allowed indoors but can sit with you at designated terrace seats.
  2. Eight posts call the portions large, and two left cutlet on the plate. One post alone said the rice was a bit skimpy.
  3. Seven posts went with family, three as a couple, one with friends and one with a 30-person booking. Five brought children, and three of those mention high chairs.

Parking

Posts saying you can park11 of 19 posts

Eleven posts say they could park and ten say they came by car, but fees and size differ: some describe paid valet at the door for 3,000 won and a free lot about 200 m away, others a free lot right beside the restaurant. One post called the lot very large; another said cars are double- and triple-parked on a steep slope. Two posts parked at the Namsan Library lot and walked over.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 19 posts
In a basementyes 1 · no 1 (of 19 posts read)

Two posts describe floors: one says most guests sit on the ground floor while groups go to a basement level, which also has outdoor tables; another nearly went up to the third floor by mistake. A third post called it a big restaurant spanning two floors.

No post mentions an entrance step, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. That means unknown, not absent. One post notes the restaurant sits on a steep Namsan slope.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying the layout was confusing to find it. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a post copied from the place listing. Beyond that we don't know.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting varies. Two posts waited: one on a weekend was quoted over an hour but got in within 20 to 30 minutes, another had one party ahead. Three walked straight in, two of them after 7 pm, and three more were inconclusive. Two posts note an indoor waiting area with CatchTable alerts.
  • Posts repeat that it is about 10 minutes or 500 m on foot from Myeongdong Station exit 3, but none describes actually arriving by subway or bus, so we don't know what the walk is like.
  • Opening hours disagree: in copied info blocks, seven posts give 10:30 to 20:50, five give 10:50 to 21:00 and one 11:00 to 21:30. Ten agree on a 20:00 last order, and three say it closes on and the day before Lunar New Year and Chuseok. One evening visitor saw orders close around 8 pm.
  • Prices are mostly consistent, but one June 2026 post lists the cutlet at 12,500 won and wild-greens bibimbap at 20,000 won, against 12,800 and 10,000 elsewhere; we can't tell if that's a change or a typo. A single dish runs 10,000 to 16,500 won, and one post said that was fair for today's prices.
  • Seven posts give the phone number 0507-1434-1978. The line that reservations are phone-only comes from three posts sharing one template; one post actually ate at a 30-person booking and another saw a 48-person group being expected.
  • Seven posts call the dining room spacious. A June 2026 post, returning after several years, said it had been neatly remodelled and used to feel cramped. A claim that the restaurant moved from an old hanok next door was hearsay in one post, so we didn't rely on it.
  • Several posts look like commissioned copy: three repeat the same lines about 100-seat bookings, a 30-seat terrace, a three-star hygiene rating and a 20% coffee discount, and two share an identical info block and slogan. We treated those lines as copied and did not count them.
