Teong, Bieoinneun Sam
텅, 비어있는 삶 Teong means 'hollow, empty' and Bieoinneun sam 'an empty life'; one post points out that 'bieo' also sounds like 'beer', the name of the evening bar side.

A café-bar on the 7th and 8th floors of the Royal Changdeokgung Building, Yulgok-ro 82, by Anguk Station. By day the space is the café Teong; in the evening it serves beer and wine as Bieoinneun Sam. You order at kiosks and collect at the 7th-floor counter. Posts describe Changdeokgung Palace from the north windows and Unhyeongung and Namsan Tower from the south. Prices recorded: americano 5,500–5,800 won, teas and lattes 6,500–7,500, Basque cheesecake 8,500, draft beer 8,000. The café expanded onto the 8th floor around autumn 2025; before that it was a single floor. We read 11 posts dated 9 September to 6 October 2026, set aside one (a parking ad), and eight describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Five posts ordered at kiosks, which are on both floors; posts suggest claiming a seat first and fetching your order from the 7th floor when the buzzer goes. One weekend visitor queued to order.
- Four posts mention the floor-to-ceiling windows. The single seats lined along the glass were nearly full at 3 pm on a weekday in one post; another found the Namsan side less crowded than the palace side.
- Five posts walked from Anguk Station — four say exit 4, one says exit 1, about three minutes. One notes there's no sign outside; look for the building next to the Jongno fire station.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

| In a basement | yes 0 · no 6 (of 8 posts read) |
| Lift to the floor | 5 of 8 posts |
| Toilet inside | 1 of 8 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 8 posts |
Six posts describe both floors. The 8th has kiosks but no counter, so more tables, and drinks are collected only on the 7th. Posts disagree on getting up there: one says the 8th is stairs-only, one describes a single flight up, another found the elevator a consolation.
Five posts took the elevator to the 7th floor; one called it so narrow you squeeze in shoulder to shoulder.
No post says anything about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — we don't know. The 7th floor is reached by elevator, but two posts describe stairs to the 8th.
Two posts found separate men's and women's toilets, one adding there are toilets on both floors and they were very clean. One post lists the toilet as indoors, and one mentions a small hand-washing sink inside the café.
No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 10 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only one post mentions waiting: a repeat visitor says evenings and weekends often fill up and there's a wait. No one recorded how long.
- Three posts say who they went with — two with friends, one with a father; the rest don't say. Several posts mention lots of solo laptop workers, but none say they went alone.
- All seven posts that give hours say 11:00–23:00 daily, though several copied this from a check-in block. Last order 22:30 comes from one post, and two say espresso drinks stop at 22:00. No post mentions a closing day.
- On price, one post says coffee isn't cheap and one calls it reasonable given the location. Two posts give different americano prices, 5,800 won and 'about 5,500'. No post totals what one person spends.
- The phone number 02-766-1933 appears only in information blocks copied by two posts. No post says whether reservations are taken.
- The 8th floor was added around autumn 2025: a September 2026 post says it expanded about a year earlier, and a post built on photos from November 2023 describes a café on the 7th floor only. Seating descriptions from before then refer to the single-floor layout.
