Doryang
도량 Doryang is a Korean word that can mean magnanimity or a place of Buddhist practice; none of the posts say which meaning the house intends.

A Chinese restaurant on the second and third floors of 6 Jahamun-ro 6-gil, in a Seochon alley near Exit 3 of Gyeongbokgung Station. It belongs to Lim Tae-hoon, the 'delivery-box chef' from Culinary Class Wars, and most posts open with that. The usual order is the dongpo pork (40,000 won) and stuffed eggplant (35,000 won) plus a noodle dish such as the seafood jjamppong (13,000 won); one couple paid 53,000 won for the pork and a jjamppong. Tables are booked through CatchTable, and walk-ins need a queue ticket picked up in the morning. We read 30 posts from 20 July to 6 October 2026; 26 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Without a booking, expect it to take your day. 16 posts waited or saw a queue. Several say dinner tickets are handed out at 10 a.m.; one arrived at 8:20 and found a party already there, one got ticket 20 at 14:20 and was seated at 19:30, another got ticket 10 at noon and sat down at 18:05. One went at 11:30 on a weekday, found lunch walk-ins already closed, took dinner ticket 1 and was seated at 17:00. Several note you choose your dishes when you register.
- 13 posts got in with a reservation. Next month's slots open at 6 p.m. on the 25th; one booker had the confirmation by 6:01 and called it a one-minute fight. Others succeeded through cancellation alerts after three months of trying, or by checking the night before. Those with bookings say they were seated without waiting.
- 9 posts mention a waiting area out front — a small tent with six chairs and a portable air conditioner that several found a relief in summer. One notes that even booked guests wait downstairs until staff call them up.
- The seasoning is light. 10 posts say not salty and none say salty; 7 say not greasy, while one found the pork fat heavy and trimmed it toward the end. One warns that people who like bold, spicy, salty Chinese food may find it a bit bland, and another mentions seeing reviews calling the pork underseasoned.
5 more
- 15 posts call the frying crisp — the stuffed eggplant, dumplings, fried lamb, yuringi and even the chili-shrimp tails. One notes the chili shrimp went a little soft under the sauce.
- 13 posts call the staff or chef kind. Nearly every post describes the chef visiting each table mid-meal to ask about the food and pose for photos, and several say staff explained how to cut the pork and the eggplant.
- Food comes fast: 6 posts say so, with the pork arriving in one or two minutes, or under three. One post links this to dishes being ordered at registration.
- 6 posts mention tea served instead of water, lukewarm in a porcelain pot, with cold water on request. Several list the free sides as zha cai and pickled cucumber or cabbage.
- 8 posts walked from Exit 3 of Gyeongbokgung Station, three to five minutes. One walked from Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5 in a little over ten minutes.

Parking
9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 9 of 26 posts |
|---|
9 posts mention a paid lot on the building's ground floor, run separately, with one hour free when you eat here. One says an attendant shuffles cars so you needn't leave mid-meal; two parked at a nearby public lot because the lot is small.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
8 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 10 of 26 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 26 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 26 posts |
The dining rooms are on the second and third floors. 10 posts ate on the second floor, and 4 saw the third-floor private rooms themselves. Several describe second-floor tables divided by partitions or lattice screens, and 7 say the tables are well spaced.
We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Four posts climbed stairs to the second floor; nobody said whether there is a lift, and nobody mentioned the entrance step.
Only one post described the toilet first-hand: separate men's and women's, inside on the second floor, and clean. Another just said it was not great. Other mentions came from copied info blocks and weren't counted.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 31 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-09-30 | 2 posts in one day |
|---|
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts split on whether the jjamppong is spicy: 4 say yes, 5 say it was milder than expected.
- No post called it expensive; 5 said fair or good value and 2 left it open ('not exactly cheap'). Two gave a bill: 53,000 won for two (pork and jjamppong), and about 150,000 won for two including takeaway. The lunch brisket jjamppong is listed at both 13,000 and 15,000 won.
- A 90-minute table limit is copied from the CatchTable notice by several posts; two mention it from their own visit.
- Opening hours appear in seventeen posts, mostly copied from Naver Place: 11:00 to 21:30, break 14:30 to 17:00, last orders 13:30 and 20:30, closed Mondays. One post gives the break as starting at 14:00.
- Six posts give the phone number as 0507-1432-0210; one gives 02-739-0145. Several say reservations go through CatchTable rather than by phone.
- Two posts (a new-restaurant listing and a search-service analysis) were too long to read in full and were left out of the counts. One post compiled parking, children and wait times from other people's reviews; we didn't count those parts.
