Bongwoori Euljiro
봉우리 을지로점 Bongwoori is written 逢友理, 'a village where friends meet' — it sounds like the Korean word for a mountain peak but is not meant that way.

Bongwoori Euljiro is a Korean set-course restaurant on basement level 1 of the Mirae Asset Center1 tower, between Euljiro 1-ga station and the Cheonggyecheon stream. There is no open hall — every seat is in a private room. Courses run from milk-rice porridge and the house kimchi through raw fish, herbal boiled pork, abalone over barley rice and Hanwoo tteokgalbi to doenjang stew, rice and dessert. Posts from 2026 give 73,000 won for the sanggyeonrye (wedding-families) course, 80,000 for Sikgaek and 99,000 for Chef's Special, with weekday-lunch sets such as Hanwoo tteokgalbi at 53,000. Most visits were family occasions — families meeting before a wedding, parents' birthdays. We read 30 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; 25 are first-hand visits. Three were not about this restaurant (two used 'bongwoori' in its literal sense, a mountain peak) and two were multi-restaurant lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- 24 of the 25 visit posts ate in a private room. An October 2024 post put it plainly — there is no hall — and described rooms from two-to-four seats up to very large ones. One family of 16 used two rooms joined together; a work group sat in two ten-person rooms opened into one. Posts keep mentioning that each room hangs a different calligraphy piece by Kang Byung-in.
- Ten posts said it was quiet — no sound from neighbouring rooms, and one noted the soundproofing held even when the place looked fully booked. Some of these come from the look-alike posts of June 2026 described below.
- Twelve posts called the staff kind. The specifics recur: servers demonstrating how to wrap the raw fish in pickled laver and aged kimchi, changing plates and serving utensils with each course, knocking before entering, and taking a family photo at the end of a wedding-families lunch.
- Nine posts booked ahead. One phoned (02-6030-8960) and then got a CatchTable confirmation; another noted a birthday on CatchTable and was brought a bowl of perilla seaweed soup. Several say that if you mention a pre-wedding family meeting, they set a pair of mandarin ducks on the table.

Parking
8 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Eight posts parked and walked in. Parking is in the building's own garage; the free allowance copied by many posts is 2 hours for weekday arrivals before 5 pm, 4 hours after 5 pm and at weekends, with a weekend all-day cap of 8,000 won. One post warns you must register the plate at the counter on the way out; another says both of their cars were covered. A weekend visitor found plenty of space.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | 12 of 25 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 1 of 25 posts |
No one said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in — unknown, not absent. One post found the lift route up from the garage easy.
No post said whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or shared in the building. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in copied listing blocks, so we do not rely on it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Portions are disputed: three posts found them large, two found them small. A table on the cheapest Bongwoori course ordered two extra croakers and eel mid-meal because the elders were still hungry, while a Sikgaek diner left half the rice. The course you pick seems to decide it.
- Prices have gone up. In October 2024 and May 2025 the sanggyeonrye, Sikgaek and Chef's Special courses were 70,000, 78,000 and 98,000 won; in 2026 they are 73,000, 80,000 and 99,000. Several posts from April to September 2026 mention a 20,000 won room charge, reportedly applied to weekday bookings and waived at weekends and for the sanggyeonrye course; one group only found out at the till. Four posts called it expensive, one called it reasonable for what you get.
- No one described arriving by subway or bus. Many posts copy a line like '580 m from Euljiro 1-ga exit 3', but that is pasted directions, not experience. Posts mention arriving by car or by taxi.
- No one reported waiting; most visitors had booked. One post heard that weekend slots for wedding-family meals fill quickly. What happens if you walk in, we don't know.
- Fifteen visit posts list opening hours, mostly copied from listings. All give 9:20 pm as closing; fourteen give 11:30 am as opening and one says 11:00. Several add a 3:00–5:30 pm break and last orders at 2 pm and 8 pm; one says there is no closing day.
- Five posts published between 19 and 21 June 2026 share the same phrases ('a proven venue for wedding-family meetings', 'perfectly soundproofed private rooms'), the same promotion notes and the same complimentary pancake, in much the same order. None discloses sponsorship, but they look commissioned. We counted them because they describe a meal, but some of the 'quiet' and 'friendly' mentions come from this batch. Only one post, from September 2025, discloses sponsorship.
- The herbal boiled pork divides opinion: three posts found no off-smell, one found a slight one. Seasoning splits evenly too — some found the food salty, others mild.
