CRYSTAL JADE

크리스탈제이드 소공점 Keuriseutaljeideu Sogongjeom Crystal Jade is the English brand name of a Singapore-born Chinese restaurant chain; Sogong is Sogong-dong, the central Seoul neighbourhood this branch sits in.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Cantonese restaurant in the basement of the Hanguk (Hancom) Building next to Lotte Department Store's flagship in Sogong-dong. Most dim sum costs around 10,000-15,000 won (shrimp dumplings 13,000 for four, a three-piece sampler 11,000), a whole Peking duck is 120,000 won, and the lunch courses are 48,000 and 58,000 won per person. The duck skin is eaten in pancakes and the rest comes back as a second dish - bean-sprout stir-fry, fried, or soup. Besides the main hall there are several private rooms, and many posts were family gatherings. We read 29 posts from November 2025 to October 2026; after setting aside 4 about other branches or other restaurants and 3 listings or info pages, we counted 22 visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Nine posts booked ahead. The duck is repeatedly said to need pre-ordering - one post notes you can't add another on the day, and another copies that same-day orders depend on stock. One post, though, got a half duck without a reservation. Bookings were made through Naver and CatchTable.
  2. Seven posts ate in or saw the private rooms - one fitted a family of seven, another notes the rooms are named after Hong Kong districts such as Victoria and Central. Rooms carry a minimum spend, but posts disagree on it: 45,000 won per person at lunch (February 2026), 120,000 won (September), 90,000 won (October).
  3. Ten posts describe a large room with generous spacing between tables. Several also mention the row of Michelin plaques at the entrance and the glass-fronted BBQ zone where ducks and roasts hang.
  4. Three posts brought their own bottle (wine, whisky). One says the free corkage covers one bottle and no ice bucket or chilling was offered; another, visiting on a 40% telecom-discount day, was told to choose between free corkage and the discount.
3 more
  1. Three posts used the SKT T-day 40% discount; one of them says the regular prices are steep.
  2. Six posts found the fried dishes or roast skins crisp - spring rolls, yurinki, sweet-and-sour pork, the crispy pork belly. Three said there was no gamey smell; one found the large-cut crispy pork and the braised duck leg a little porky and gamey.
  3. Eight posts went with family (parents' birthdays, a 70th, Parents' Day, a mother-daughter lunch), four as a couple, two with friends. Of two posts with a small child, one came by stroller using the building lift; two posts mention high chairs.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park3 of 21 posts

Three posts parked there. The 'two hours free with a meal' line appears in many posts but is mostly copied; one post that did park found two hours too short for a course meal. The mechanical car park and the 500 won per 10 minutes afterwards are also copied information.

Getting inside

In a basement5 of 21 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 21 posts
Step-free access2 of 21 posts

Five posts confirm it is on basement level 1. The way down varies: one used a step-free passage from inside the building, one took the building lift with a stroller, and one walked down stairs. One December post says cold air kept blowing in from the entrance.

Only two posts say a wheelchair or stroller can get in (via a step-free passage and the lift). No one mentions a threshold at the door - not that there isn't one, just that nobody wrote about it.

No post says whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or separated by gender. We don't know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts came by public transport, one saying it is a three-minute walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station exit 6. The '294 m from exit 7' figure elsewhere is copied from a map.
  • Waiting is split. One post waited a long time because the whole party had to arrive before being seated; another walked straight in thanks to a booking. No post gives a number of minutes.
  • Posts split two to two on whether it is expensive: two call the prices high, two say the duck is good value - three people ate for under 150,000 won. The seafood jjamppong rose from 17,000 won (November 2025) to 18,000 (March 2026) and 19,000 (September 2026).
  • Opening hours appear the same in eight visit posts, all copied from maps or the website: 11:00-21:30 with a 15:00-17:00 break and last orders at 20:30 (two posts). No post mentions a closing day.
  • Six posts give the same phone number, 02-3789-8088. Most bookings were made through Naver or CatchTable; no one mentions booking by phone.
  • Four posts found the staff kind; one differs - a 70th-birthday party said requests were met but the service was only so-so.
  • Three posts found it quiet (two in rooms, one in the hall); one noted it gets a bit loud when full.
  • Whether the duck is carved at the table is split: four posts say it was, one says it came out already sliced. Xiaolongbao is also contested - one post says this branch doesn't sell them, another recommends them.
  • Two posts from 4 October 2026 about the autumn 'flying noodle' special follow a similar script and don't say whether they were sponsored. One other post was a guest of the Lotte Foundation. Five posts say they paid themselves.
