Nogodan Kalguksu

노고단칼국수 Nogodan is the name of a peak on Jirisan mountain and kalguksu means knife-cut noodle soup; none of the posts explains why the house took the name.

A clam knife-cut noodle house at Bonghwasan-ro 56-gil 1 in Sinnae-dong, Jungnang-gu. The clam noodle soup cost 11,000 won per person in posts up to April 2026 and 12,000 won from September; a tray of five large dumplings is 9,000 won and the radish rice bowl 2,000 won. Two people paid 22,000 won for noodles; three paid 45,000 won for noodles plus dumplings. Mushroom noodle soup and a mushroom-dumpling hot pot were added in spring 2026, and an October post says the octopus pancake and seasoned skate are gone. We read 30 posts from November 2025 to October 2026; 25 describe a visit. Four were about other places and one was a ghost-written draft with its instructions left in, so we did not count it.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Fourteen posts call the portions large; one party of six ordered three servings plus two extra noodles and left a lot behind. Two posts disagree: one says the amount is not especially large, another found the clams a little scant.
  2. Seven posts mention high chairs and five went with children; two say the owners handed the kids sweets on the way out.
  3. Three posts mention free coffee or plum tea by the counter after the meal, one specifically free instant coffee.
  4. Thirteen posts call the room spacious; one lists tables for four, six and eight, and two mention big windows and plenty of light.

Parking

Posts saying you can park17 of 24 posts

Parking comes up more than anything else: 17 of the 25 visit posts say you can park, and one compares the lot to a sports field. It is a lot shared with neighbouring businesses; two posts say two hours are free, and posts tell you to write your car number on the order slip or register on the way out.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 24 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 24 posts

Only one post describes the building from experience: a standalone single-storey building.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a ramp. That means we don't know, not that there is none. One post says the entrance can be confusing on a first visit.

One post says the toilet is inside the restaurant and one that it is separated by gender; other mentions come from copied info blocks, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts found the staff friendly; one found the owners rather curt, adding that after several visits it seemed to be just their manner.
  • Two posts found the kimchi and radish salad spicy; one said the mushroom hot pot broth is not; one post said both.
  • Only one post covers public transport: it is a bit of a walk from Sinnae station, but a bus stop makes it manageable. Most others drove.
  • No post reports waiting itself. One saw people waiting at mealtimes, and one had been turned away on an earlier visit because the food had run out. We don't know how long waits run.
  • Fourteen posts give opening hours of 11:00–21:00, all copied from listing info. Nobody mentions a break, last order or closing day. The uncounted draft gave weekdays 10:30–22:00.
  • Prices have risen: the clam noodle soup went from 11,000 won (posts to April 2026) to 12,000 won (from September), and the octopus pancake from 17,000 to 20,000 won between January and April. Use posts from September 2026 on for current meal costs.
  • Most posts give the phone number 02-435-9790; two give 0507-1366-9790. Reservations appear only in copied info blocks; no post describes booking.
  • Six posts went with family, two as a couple, one alone.
  • Two posts say the floor seating was replaced with tables in a remodel; all the posts we read describe the room after that change. One post says the owners have changed several times, but not when.
