Myosu Sindang

묘수 신당 Myosu means a brilliant, ingenious move, as in a game of baduk; Sindang is the neighbourhood around Sindang Station.

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

Myosu Sindang is a dinner-only sushi omakase on the second floor of a building on Toegye-ro 78-gil, a short walk from exit 6 of Sindang Station. You sit at the counter for a course of about 25 items — chawanmushi or chilled corn soup, sushi, an eel rice pot, basil sorbet — over 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours. Posts from 2026 give two prices: ₩49,000 per person if two people order one 700ml bottle, ₩75,000 if not. A post from October 2025 described a ₩49,000 course with a drink order required. We read 30 posts from 13 October 2025 to 15 October 2026; 23 of them describe actually eating here. Four were about other restaurants and were set aside.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Seating is at the counter. Nine posts said every seat is a counter seat; six mentioned the counter without saying it was the only seating. Five posts put the count at 12 seats (one described it as a run of 8 and a run of 4), one said about 14, and an October 2025 post said 10 counter seats.
  2. You watch the chefs prep and shape everything right in front of you; eleven posts described the open kitchen. Twelve posts said the chefs were friendly or kept up easy conversation, and an October 2025 post singled out the head chef's banter and his torch work, which it compared to a fire show.
  3. It is a lot of food. Eleven posts said they ended up very full or barely finished. Several said the chef asks about rice size after the first piece, and seven asked for smaller rice. One noted that by the rice pot, other diners were leaving food unfinished.
  4. The clear clam soup served before the sushi has a kick. Nine posts called it peppery or spicy; one called it really spicy, and another was told by the chef he had made it a little hot on purpose.

  1. The drink rule has changed. Two posts from October and December 2025 said ordering alcohol was required, and a diner who went in May 2025 said a single glass then qualified for the ₩49,000 price. Three 2026 posts said you can eat without drinking: one couple didn't drink and paid ₩75,000 each, and another noted that drinks used to be mandatory.
  2. Fourteen posts put it one to five minutes on foot from exit 6 of Sindang Station (Lines 2 and 6). Two gave directions: down the lane by the Sindang police box, turning at the 7-Eleven.

Getting inside

Second floor13 of 23 posts
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 23 posts read)

The restaurant is upstairs; thirteen posts said second floor. One of them said you have to climb stairs. Nobody mentioned a lift, a step at the door, wheelchairs or strollers — which means no one wrote about it, not that there is no access.

No one said where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender. We don't know.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one described queuing; everyone had booked. Doors open five minutes before your slot, and three posts said they waited outside the door after arriving early. Several posts copied the rule that you can't be seated if you are more than 20 minutes late.
  • Four posts repeated that it is a no-kids zone with no entry for minors; that is copied information. No one went with children.
  • Opening hours here are all copied from the listing, and Saturday varies. Eleven posts agree on one weekday seating, 19:00–21:00. For Saturday, six give two seatings at 17:00 and 19:30, two give 17:00–21:30, three give 17:00–22:30; four say closed Sunday and Monday. An October 2025 post listed two seatings (18:00 and 20:30) Wednesday to Friday, so the single weekday seating seems to be a later change.
  • What a meal costs depends on the drinks. 2026 posts agree on ₩49,000 with a bottle and ₩75,000 without; one post's ₩79,000 is contradicted later in the same post, so we treat it as a typo. Only three posts priced the sake: one bottle at ₩115,000, a claim that the cheapest is ₩85,000, and ₩80,000–100,000. Corkage is given as ₩30,000 a bottle by five posts and ₩20,000 by two.
  • Many posts say bookings go through Naver and CatchTable. Ten posts give the phone number as 0507-1421-5891; one gives 02-2231-5888. An October 2025 post said solo bookings weren't accepted, but three 2026 posts describe dining alone.
  • Of the 23 visit posts, two disclosed sponsorship, six said they paid themselves, and fifteen said nothing. Several posts from August–September 2026 repeat the same listing text and the same descriptions of the dishes. The claim that it is a sister restaurant of Sushi Daiichi and Sushi Hinata is hearsay.
