COFFEE AND CIGARETTES
커피앤시가렛 Keopi aen Sigaret The name is just the English words 'coffee and cigarettes' written in Korean — the cafe really does sell cigarettes and logo lighters at the counter, though the building itself is non-smoking.

Coffee and Cigarettes is a cafe on the 17th floor of the Yuwon Building, right outside exit 9 of City Hall station. Take the lift up and the windows look out over downtown, Deoksugung and Inwangsan — that view is why people go. An americano is 5,700 won, a latte 6,300, and the salt scotch latte that posts call the signature 7,400; prices were the same from a June 2026 receipt through October. Pound cake and financiers run 3,800-4,200 won; cakes, brownies and cruffin-cookies 7,900-9,500. Two posts said you collect your order yourself when the buzzer goes, and three got their drinks in paper cups. Three posts noticed cigarettes and logo lighters for sale at the counter. We read 30 posts dated 1 July to 17 October 2026: 22 describe a visit, 4 only introduce or list the place, and 4 were about other cafes and set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The window seats are the prize. Sixteen posts wrote about the windows or window seats; one counted just four prime window spots and said that arriving at 6:30 on a weekday evening, they only got one around 7:30. A Saturday visitor was told by staff that you can let others go ahead in the queue until a window seat frees up — doing that, they waited 20 minutes in all. Two posts said the windows are big enough that the inner tables still get the view.
- Four posts waited and two didn't. One Saturday 2pm visit had four groups ahead and waited 20 minutes in total; a weekend 6pm visit queued but got in quickly as people kept leaving; another simply queued in person; and one September post gave up because the line was too long. The two no-wait visits were on a Friday afternoon and a weekday. A visit over Chuseok found it full but with nobody waiting ahead. The line forms at the entrance on the 17th floor.
- It is not a quiet cafe: five posts called it loud and two called it calm. Posts compared it to a school cafeteria and a market, and said sound bounces around inside when it fills up; two mentioned loud music. One of the two calm reports was a Friday afternoon. One post found the wall-side window tables a little less noisy.
- There is a photo booth inside. Ten posts mentioned it and one used it. A 1 October post said it hadn't been there on an earlier visit — and that they never saw anyone use it. It already appears in a July post, but no one says when it was installed.

- It's right at the station. Ten posts arrived by subway or described the station exit as right there, and seven took the lift to the 17th floor; one said you can ride up from the B1 level connected to the station without going outside. There's no street sign — one post got lost at first and explained the way in: the left-hand door by the Shinhan Bank sign, then on 17 look for the black curtain, since there's no sign there either.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 7 (of 22 posts read) |

| Lift to the floor | 7 of 22 posts |
We don't know whether there's a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. Seven posts took the lift to the 17th floor, but none described the threshold or aisles up there. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there's a problem.
We don't know whether the toilet is inside the cafe or whether it's split by gender — none of the posts we counted mentioned it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-10-09 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on price split: four posts found it expensive, one reasonable, and one didn't conclude. One thought 5,800 won steep for the lemon cookie, another wouldn't order the cruffin-cookie for just two people, and two put the prices down to paying for the view. One post called it reasonable. Going by the prices posted, a drink plus a dessert runs from 9,500 won (americano and matcha pound cake) to 17,100 won (orangeade and brownie).
- Posts disagree on size: three called it roomy, two cramped or smaller than expected. Posts describe a mix of two-tops, large group tables, window counter seats and round tables, so it isn't all bar seating.
- All opening hours were copied from the Naver listing. Twelve posts agree on weekdays 08:30-21:00, Saturday 11:00-21:00, closed Sunday; one copied 'Mon-Sat 08:30-21:00' and another 'daily 08:30-21:00' with Sundays closed. No one wrote about turning up at opening time, though one said you need to be there at the 11am Saturday opening to get a window seat.
- The phone number, 02-777-7557, appears only in copied listings; no one wrote about calling or booking. One post noted there's no CatchTable, and another said they just queued in person with no app, so it looks like walk-in only — but nobody actually asked whether you can book.
- We set aside four posts about other places, including one about a different branch, Coffee and Cigarettes BCity in Huam-dong.
