Korean

Yun Sikdang

윤식당 Yun is a Korean family name and sikdang means a canteen or eatery, so the name reads 'Yun's Eatery'.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

A lunchtime Korean buffet on the second floor of a building on Yeonmujang 19-gil in Seongsu, with a car repair shop on the ground floor. You pay at the door, fill a tray yourself, and there is a separate corner for cooking your own instant noodles, plus sikhye to finish. Posts from 2026 give 8,000 won a head; posts from 2025 said 7,000 won. The crowd is mostly local office workers, and several posts were lunches with colleagues. We read 18 posts dated 4 March 2025 to 5 October 2026. We set aside 8 that were about the Bali filming location of the TV show of the same name or other shops on the street, which leaves 8 posts from people who ate here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts said drinks such as sikhye came at no extra charge, with plum tea, iced coffee, pomegranate drink or bokbunja on some days.
  2. Four posts called it cheap, usually against the point that most meals in Seongsu now cost over 10,000 won. No post called it expensive.
  3. Three posts were from repeat visitors: a third visit, a regular spot, and an intern's farewell lunch on her last day.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 6 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 6 posts read)
Step at the entrance3 of 6 posts

You have to climb stairs. Three posts mentioned them, one calling the route a little awkward. Four posts place it on the second floor, and two said the entrance, a small side door between the ground-floor car repair bays, is easy to miss the first time.

We don't know about wheelchair or stroller access, or whether there is a lift. Posts mention stairs, but nobody said whether there is another way up.

No post said where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 8 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The price has gone up. September and November 2025 posts gave 7,000 won (7,500 by card in September); posts from February, May and August 2026 say 8,000 won. It rose sometime between November 2025 and February 2026; no post says exactly when.
  • Two posts disagree on size. A September 2025 post said it isn't big but has lots of seats packed close together; a February 2026 post called it roomy enough for groups. No post mentions any change to the room in between.
  • Only one post addressed waiting: the room fills at lunch but turns over fast, and the writer said she had almost never queued. No other post mentioned it.
  • Nobody described walking there from a station or bus stop; there are only labels like 'cheap lunch near Seongsu Station' and one note that it's in the alley beside the gas station at Seongsu crossroads.
  • Who people came with doesn't fall into friends, family or dates. Several posts were lunches with coworkers or a neighbouring shop owner; none described coming alone or with family.
  • Three posts give the same hours, weekdays 11:00 to 14:00 and closed weekends, but all three are copied info blocks. One adds public holidays; another, in its own text, mentions only Saturdays as closed.
  • The phone number appears only in one post's copied info block (0507-1343-2956), and no post mentions booking. Two posts say the day's menu is posted on Instagram.
