Yakitori Sancho
야키토리 산초 Yakitori are Japanese grilled chicken skewers; the shop's Instagram writes Sancho as 山頂, Japanese for 'summit' or 'peak'.

A small yakitori izakaya one floor below street level on an alley off Ttukseom-ro 9-gil, a 7–10 minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 3. The owner grills skewers over charcoal right in front of the bar seats and sends them out one at a time. Everyone orders a Sancho set first — three skewers for 11,000 won or five for 18,000 won — and adds single items after. We read 18 posts dated 20 January to 14 September 2026: two were about a different bar nearby (Bamtori) and were dropped, one was a rewritten listing with no visit, and 15 were actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Eight of the 15 visit posts describe watching the owner grill skewers over charcoal right across the bar. Several note that skewers arrive one by one as they come off the grill rather than all at once, and some writers recommend the bar seats for exactly that.
- There is a first-order rule: six posts say each person must order a three- or five-skewer set before adding singles, and one says this is printed on the menu. Two posts also mention a one-drink-per-person rule; one of them says a non-alcoholic drink counts.
- It isn't bar-only: six posts mention both counter seats and tables. Those that counted put it at about seven bar seats plus two tables, or one four-top, three two-tops and the bar, with only one table for four. Six posts call the room small or the tables close together; one post alone found it roomy.
- Seven posts describe it as quiet, tucked into an alley away from Seongsu's main drag. One weekday visit at 6:30 pm found only two other parties there.
3 more
- Two posts mention a complimentary starter of grated daikon with scallion and ponzu, which one writer contrasted with the shredded cabbage most izakayas hand out.
- Five posts call the skewers juicy and three say there was no gamey smell. Several note the skewers come already seasoned; one found the tsukune a little salty.
- Four posts come from repeat visitors — one guessed it was their fourth to sixth visit — and one writer noted the owner recognised her regular friend and greeted them.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Five posts say it is a semi-basement you step down into, but nobody says how many steps there are, whether there is a lip at the door, or whether a wheelchair or stroller got in. We don't know.
One post says the restroom is inside the bar and another says it was clean. Nobody says whether it is split by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 15 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Waits are mixed: one post says there is sometimes a line because there are few tables, one walked in at 8 pm on a Saturday with the room nearly full and didn't wait, and one advises booking ahead because walk-ins may have to wait. Nobody gave a wait time. Four posts booked, or said you can book, through Naver or CatchTable; one says Naver only takes bookings up to 7 pm on weekdays and 6 pm on weekends.
- Opening hours are mostly consistent across eight posts: Tuesday–Saturday 5 pm to midnight, Sunday 5 to 11 pm, closed Mondays. Three posts give last orders as 11 pm (10 pm on Sundays); one lists only 10 pm, and one says Sundays also run to midnight.
- Only the two set prices were given consistently: 11,000 won for three skewers (three posts) and 18,000 won for five (two posts). Draft beer at 8,000, tsukune at 4,500 and grilled onigiri at 6,000 won come from a single post, and the 3,800–4,500 won single-skewer range comes only from a copied listing. Nobody gave a total bill for a meal.
- Two posts list the phone number 0507-1370-7521. Visitors booked through Naver or CatchTable, though one copied listing says reservations are by phone only.
