Seusi Koyu

스시 코유 Koyu, one post was told, is meant as 'deep' — the deep taste of sushi.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A sushi omakase counter on the half-floor above Jiugwan, in an alley behind the Gentle Monster headquarters, a 10-15 minute walk from exit 3 of Seongsu Station. There are only two meals: a 60,000-won lunch course and a 120,000-won dinner course. You book a seating (lunch at 12:00 or 13:30), sit at the bar, and the chef hands you each piece. Most posts describe lunch as chawanmushi, then nigiri such as young yellow sea bream, red sea bream, squid, amberjack, sweet shrimp, monkfish liver, tuna, herring and sea eel, one fried dish, green-tangerine soba, tamagoyaki and yuzu sorbet. Nine posts say the chef offered or made an encore piece of their choice at the end. We read 30 posts from 22 June to 3 October 2026; 28 of them ate here (26 lunch, 1 dinner, 1 didn't say).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The miso soup is topped up without asking. Ten posts say it was refilled or swapped for a hot bowl once it cooled; one guessed they had it refilled three times.
  2. This is a reservation place. Fifteen posts booked ahead through CatchTable or Naver; one got the second lunch seating four days out and said it wasn't hard. Two posts that flagged a birthday when booking were served the tamagoyaki with a candle in it.
  3. One fried dish comes mid-course, and twelve posts call it crisp. What it is changes from day to day: fried monkfish, fried horse mackerel, or a potato croquette with octopus and corn.
  4. Tea is poured as you sit down. Six posts mention a free tea, some describing it as warm black-bean tea, others as a cold tea or barley tea.
4 more
  1. At lunch the room is lit by daylight. Seven posts mention the large windows, a window seat or the natural light over the counter.
  2. Eight posts call it quiet. One post noted a company group at the counter being loud and lively, so it didn't come down either way.
  3. Seven posts describe the chef or owner as friendly, and several say he asked how much rice and wasabi they wanted. One post found the chef reserved and said people looking for warm service might be let down.
  4. You walk there. Six posts describe the walk from the station: 10, 12 or about 15 minutes from Seongsu Station exit 3. One suggests taking bus 2413 from Ttukseom Station to the Gyeongsu Middle School stop, two minutes away.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

You walk there. Six posts describe the walk from the station: 10, 12 or about 15 minutes from Seongsu Station exit 3. One suggests taking bus 2413 from Ttukseom Station to the Gyeongsu Middle School stop, two minutes away.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 9 (of 28 posts read)
Toilet inside6 of 28 posts
Separate restrooms5 of 28 posts

It is half a floor up, not underground. Nine posts describe going up past Jiugwan on the ground floor to get in; they call it the 1.5th floor, half a floor up, or the second floor, but they all mean the same spot.

No post says whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether there is a lift or ramp. That doesn't mean there isn't one; nobody wrote about it. Three posts mention climbing stairs at the entrance.

The restrooms are inside. Six posts say so and five say they are separate for men and women; one post notes a coat closet by the payment counter.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • There is one four-seat private room at the back. Sixteen posts mention it, but five posts between 1 August and 13 September 2026 say it was "opening soon" and only the counter was in use. No later post says it has opened. One post was told that in the room the sushi comes five pieces to a plate rather than one at a time (hearsay).
  • No post describes queueing. One says that because it is reservation-only there is no waiting, you just arrive on time. Nobody says whether walk-ins get a seat.
  • Few posts say who they went with: one with family (a father's birthday), two alone, two with friends, one with a partner. The rest don't say.
  • The "no kids" note comes from information boxes copied into several posts. No post describes going with children.
  • Posts agree on what it costs: 60,000 won for lunch, 120,000 won for dinner. Only one August 2026 post gives 130,000 won for dinner. Nine posts call the price reasonable or not a burden; one found the whole course underwhelming and said they wouldn't return. Copied price lists give draft beer at 12,000 won, and corkage at 30,000 won a bottle for wine or sake and 50,000 won for whisky.
  • Sixteen posts list opening hours of 10:00-21:00 daily with a 15:00-17:00 break, but all of it is copied from the listing. In practice you eat at a booked seating: lunch at 12:00 or 13:30, dinner at 18:30 (several posts mention a 19:00 dinner seating too). One post gives dinner times of 17:30 and 20:00. Two say there is no regular day off. One post finished the noon seating around 12:45; another says the meal took over an hour.
  • Seven posts give the phone number 010-6229-1626. Most say they booked through CatchTable or Naver rather than by phone.
  • Two posts disclose sponsorship and four say they paid their own way. Several posts carry the same hashtags in the same order. One post from 1 October 2026 copies an 30 August post almost word for word, so we did not count it as a visit.
